Could we be added to the list please? We will be at POR from Sept 29 to Oct 13 :goodvibes

I've added all of you. We've cracked the 100 DISer mark for October. I thought this was supposed to be a less crowded time to visit Disney ;) It looks like the majority is staying at POR/POFQ and Pop.

wow 100 Disers that if fine just have all those no diser not come lol!
i am a plan-acholic! and i have received so much info from the dis i still think i don't have enough time but that is all we can get!

Awesome to know that we're gonna be in Mouseland at the same time! I wouldn't say "competition"...maybe we're "Potential Dinner Mates"! ;) I'm a bit of a crazy researcher, planner and pre-preparer. It drives my boyfriend nutz, but he ends up reaping the rewards. We've been together about 8 years...my advice to him about WDW is the same as everything else "Just show up and behave yourself." I take care of the rest. :lmao:

I've never been during October. I've only been to WDW once before, in May of 2011, and we had the best time ever. Heck, we were planning another trip before we left the first time! My TA told me how awesome it is in October and how much there is to do. Wookiepants and I chose this time of year because of the weather, because many of the kids will be back at school (with hopefully less crowds), and because October in Maryland can be poopy, weatherwise.

The last time we went, I sent out a "Mouse Bulletin" email to my friends and family every day - detailing what we did and using pictures and stuff, like a newsletter. I pre-populated the emails with generic info about the parks, rides, resorts and stuff, and back at the resort I'd fill out the specifics and send it off. It's a lot nicer than a postcard saying "Weather's great. Wish you were here." Needless to say, I've gotten most of my Mouse Bulletins completed now.

I also have pre-purchased my PhotoPass because that was a super thing for us last time. I have spreadsheets, documents, instructions for house/cat sitters and everything else ready. I even have begun to pack one of our suitcases with things. I'm starting to slowly buy items for the trip as well. It's all part of the planning process which for me is almost as much fun as being there!

I hope you have a great time! Maybe we'll bump into each other! I'll be at the French Quarter and will see about attaching some lime green mickeys on my person or something![/QUOT

I LOVE YOUR POST! I am also OCD and drive my husband crazy but he and my 4 kids reap the benefits and they don't complain about that! We will be there Oct 22-29 we moved our dates one day out to get an amazing deal on plane tickets ($1068.00) round trip for all of us!!!! So now we don't have to drive! I will also be purchasing photopass in advance and have also begun purchasing things for the trip including costumes for my kids at super discounts (3 princess disney store dress total and one prince phillip disney store costume for $100.00, much better than the $70.00 we paid for one dress in 2007! So excited planning our ADRs and MNSSHP cannot wait, already paid but would so love a discount!!!! :cloud9:

Just a quick question for you and others who will be in WDW this same week....

Are your kids out of school this week? We have no kids and purposely try to plan our trips when kids are in school (not that we hate kids, just like emptier parks :) ). Lately, every time we book, there are more and more crowds, and lots of kids. We are always perplexed. One year it was Columbus Day. So lots of locals (busloads of kids!) were there. We knew better than to make that mistake last year. So we booked the week AFTER Columbus Day. Even MORE kids!!! We overheard people talking about "fall break" (I must be old - weird that kids now get a whole week off in the fall?? But I digress). So this year, we figured kids would have just started school end of Aug, beginning of September, and there'd be no way for kids to be out of school already after only 4 or 5 weeks of being in school. Yet I see your post and several others of people with school aged children with trips planned....

I'm just worried it will be packed again. :( Thanks for any insight!!

We don't have a Fall Break here, but we take our kids out of school whenever we see fit and whenever is best for our situation.
It's Disney World. There will ALWAYS be kids there.

Our kids do get a 3 day fall break (private school) and we just pull them out for the other days. Plus around here we have a lot of public schools who are on a year round calendar and they all have breaks at different times of the year.

Good luck finding a time with less kids at Disney World though!

Thank you both for the replies! I feel much better about our dates now. :) I want to say again that we do NOT hate kids!! We are just a couple of "big kids" ourselves! We just don't like crowds. The crowds come when kids are out of school. But the new "year round" school thing is making it ever more difficult to find any week at all when most of the kids are in school.....

Booking BWV 10/28-11/1 !!! My boyfriend & I met on Halloween 5 years ago so we will be celebrating our anniversary there together...and the best part is, he has never been to WDW!!! :dance3:

we are pulling our kids out of school.

but with many home schooling, year round school and parents pulling kids out i think you will always find lots of kids at Disney world. I mean it's DISNEY WORLD

I understand you don't want crowds either do I which is why I'm taking my kids out of school for the week we are going (end of October) we don't have fall break, but that would be awesome!
But you can see how the original post comes across to most parents... Good luck hopefully we'll all have short lines and a place to sit on the bus!:thumbsup2

Can I please be added to the list? We'll be at BCV on dvc points oct 14-19. We being my mom and uncle for our second adults only trip. Can't wait! It will be my first visit in oct, 1st MNSSHP, 1st time in a 1 bed, and 2nd f&w fest. We went 2 years ago in nov and loved f&w, but it was really old so we're hoping for warmer weather! :goodvibes

Ahhh...I remember those days of relentless planning ;). We are seriously at the point of planning where we want to eat and then going to that park at that time. In fact, this past trip (Feb) was the first time I didn't plan everything...DH asked to take over some of the duties (I was flabbergasted!). We have ideas about where we want to eat and this will be the first time I will be able to really plan our 180 day ADRs. Typically we are last minute planners (4 months or less).

We invited my parents to come along for this trip too. We all went together many years ago and it worked out so well. The biggest things I'm planning this time is MNSSHP, Wild Africa Trek, and maybe another type of tour. I'm more or less asking my folks to tell me where they'd like to eat and will work it in somehow. :wizard:

We LOVE POFQ :goodvibes. It is our favorite resort that is not DVC/Deluxe. I miss the days when we'd take to boat to DTD and visit the Adventurer's Club and then bring the bus back at 1am filled will slightly intoxicated people popcorn::. Ahhh..the good ol days! I do like your daily email idea and I'm sure your friends/family get a kick out of it! It also serves as a reminder for what you did each day. maybe this means we can get a trip report out of you as well ;)

I didn't see our dates added to the list. We will be honeymooning at POFQ from 10/11-10/20 and AKL Club Level 10/20- 10/23. Thank you! I can't believe how fast the time is going by!

Please add us too! My 40th birthday girl's trip. 10/22-10/27 at All Star Movies. Heading to Universal/Island of Adventures for a couple days before hand too. Can't wait!

I need some help from my fellow October dissers... Our original dates were the 14-21, but with FD, we have changed them to Sept 29-Oct 7 which isn't a huge change but for some reason it has my tummy in knots! Is it just bc it wasn't our first choice? I don't know much about this week so maybe someone can enlighten me a bit and make me feel better. My DH thinks I'm crazy! I know that it's hurricane season and why 2 weeks makes a big difference I'm not sure. Just looking for some advice from others who know!
