Not sure if this is the right forum for this, so mods please feel free to move it if appropriate.

I'm planning on running the 5K in October this year (just had a baby in September so I'm taking things slow). My understanding is that you get a ticket to the Sunday night MNSSHP with your registration. My husband isn't going to arrive until that Monday for the remainder of our trip. So my question is can I trade this ticket out at the ticket booth for another night later in the week? Thanks in advance for any info! :goodvibes

My understanding is that the ticket is not transferable to either another guest or another day. It never hurts to ask because exceptions are made for just about everything but I'd be prepared to be told the ticket is for Sunday only.

I was wondering the same thing because we're actually arriving a week earlier than the race and were hoping to attend MNSSHP before that Sunday which is currently our check-out day.

BTW, I've followed most of your past trip reports -- it's exciting to know some other Disers will be there for the 5k. My DH and I are going to register our girls who will be 10 and 8 at the time of the trip to "run" along. We can't wait.

I meant to post this here, but I e-mailed Disney about this and got this response:

Details of the Wine and Dine weekend 5K have not yet been finalized, but there will NOT be a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket included with registration this year.

More information on the race will be posted on our web site in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks,

So that takes care of that question!

Cool that you've read my past TRs! I just started a new one for October (linked below). I don't know if you know but I had a baby in September and having the 5K hanging over my head is motivation to get back into shape! I'd love to do the half but I'm not that ambitious yet.

That 5K better not be $100 then. Even $50 is way too much for a 5K with no official time and no age group awards IMO. Most of the 5Ks I do around here are between $15 and $20 so even adding in the Disney tax the 5K should be $35.

Yeah, I agree. My best friend runs in 5Ks all the time and she said she usually pays an average of $25. Last time I checked details for the 5K portion hadn't been released, so we'll see!

Actually, that works out great for us then--I'd much rather purchase the MNSSHP ticket separately on a night I want then have it grouped as a package.

I feel like a stalker now, but yes, I did read that you had an adorable baby boy :goodvibes I think it's great to use the 5K as motivation. I'd like to try the half relay with my husband who is a great runner, but neither one of us are late night people, and the thought of starting a race at 10 pm is a little overwhelming. Thanks for the info from Run Disney! I'll have to check out your pre-TR :) It will be fun to follow along, especially since I know now that you'll be running too. Have a great day.
