Quick question for those who have picked up others canceled reservations...

Do you have better luck getting them using the online system or calling Disney Dining???

I'm striking out both places and need some Magic...

I agree with what others are saying. It depends upon the places you are trying to get reservations to. Some are going to not be available because of their popularity no matter how many times you check. Not to say that pixiedust magic does sprinkle on you and you get an awesome reservation at CRT or Le Cellier, Cali Grill, etc.

It all depends. I figure, check regularly and you are bound to find some good places. I'm a lurker here and waiting for California Grill to open up. All my other reservations I was able to get.

You should have a pretty good chance with CA Grill if you check regularly, since people HAVE to cancel to avoid the penalty. I noticed it pop up a lot 1-2 weeks before our last trip as people started cancelling. Good luck!

Persistence pays off!! After checking disney daily, FINALLY got the Cal. Grill ADR at the exact time I was hoping for!!

So I will be canceling the following:
10/8 Narcoossee's 6:05pm party of 4

Does anyone know why on the first page of the online dining system, when I search for character dining at MK for a specific date, I get a box which says there is availability for CRT (the one I want) for dining between 3:30 and 7:30 on that date, then the box below has Crystal Palace, with no availability. In the CRT box, at the right side it says start here to make a reservation, when I click there, I go to the general reservatioj page, look up the same time/date and nothing, no availability...It has gotten me so excited it does this every time...

The reason CRT comes up is that it meets your requirements, but runs calendaring through a different system. That is, it is a Character Dining option, at MK, that serves meals at some time between 3:30 and 7:30. However, it cannot identify or openings or take reservations through that system.

I'm not sure why they do that, but it is what it is.

Until you actually go into the "book Online" specifically for CRT, you won't really know for sure whether CRT has openings. It is a seprate system so it always shows up on the first screen as available.

I hate to do it, but I found this ressie as a fluke and grabbed it. I just can't make it fit into our other plans, so I will cancel this ressie at 8 AM EST tomorrow unless someone PM's me to do it at a later time.

Mine will say that too - but if there's something available, there's times slots to choose from. If you read where the times usually are, you'll see "Cinderella's Royal Table is a special dining experience. To make a reservation start here. This restaurant may or may not have availability."

But as others said, special experience, done through a different system.
