October 2008 Waitlist Thread

OK, my waitlist just kicked in again for Oct 2-5 and I am not in a Savanna View Studio at AKV! So we got our ressie about 3 weeks ago at SSR (they had to pull one night from CRO) and than we waitlisted everywhere and got OKW Monday or Tuesday and rewaitlisted everywhere but OKW and SSR and now we have AKV!

Hmm, last minute ressies do work, I really didn't think anything would come through and was just thankful for any room!

Today at 3 pm nothing was still available however tonight I just checked and
we are offficially staying for 2 nights at the BEACH CLUB YESSSSS BOY
what a shock!!!

We had 10-18 through 10-26 in a studio at VWL. Waitlisted for switching 10-24 through 10-26 to a studio at BCV so we could walk to "Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K" on the night of the 25th so we didn't have to fight the traffic jam like the one last year. Checked member site a tonight and it came through today. Zippity do da, zippity yay!

OMG!!! Just checked my waitlist for Oct 6- through Oct 9 and guess what?!?! My waitlist came through today. I got a 1 bedroom at BWV!! STANDARD view!!!!

I'm happy for you ...really, I am. But I'm also bumming that my wait list came up with BW view for Oct. 9 because the rest of my trip I'm in Standard. I guess I should have only wait listed for standard.

Was that for Oct 4? What type studio? I'm still wait listed for Oct 8 and 9 (seperate wait lists) for a preferred studio. I'm still holding out some hope...

Yes it was for the 4th. I believe I waitlisted all the studio types, but I ended up with a garden/pool view...

Our wait list finally came thru for the BC 1 Bdrm for October 25th thru November 1 so we gave up our 1 Bdrm at VWL.

Hope that opens up a chance for someone else!

Thank you Lori!!! Think we got your 1 bdrm at VWL. Our waitlist for VWL came through Thursday evening for Oct. 25th weekend. Sure made us happy!!! This opened up a 1bdrm at BWV, hope it makes someones day.

Today i picked up October 8 at the BWV - Preferred Studio!! Yeah!!

I'm still wait listed for October 9 but at least now i only have to pay cash for one night!!

Happy day for me - just 4 days before we leave we got our waitlist for 10/11 in a 1 bedroom standard view! YES! Now we don't have to move and DH won't be without a good place to watch his football game.

More great news!! Today i picked up October 9 at the BWV so finally i have the entire Oct 4-12. When the week started I needed both Oct 8 & 9 but had cash reservations as a backup. Now the entire time is on points!!

not sure if the general success ratio on this thread is a true microcosm re DVC waitlists, yet i'd be nice to think the system does work!

Called saturday morning (waitlist had expired less than 7 days out) and was able to get one of my days (Friday October 10th AKV SV Studio).

I had called thursday night and the other day I needed (thursday oct 9th) was available but I didn't take it thinking the friday wouldn't come through and I'd have to change hotels twice (something I didn't want to do).

Well, at least I got one, and will keep calling for the other.
