October 2008 Waitlist Thread

We are waitlisted for Oct 12 two bedroon OKW. Have been waiting for several months

We have 13-17 confirmed.

I guess we will just stay at the airport or in the lobby if it does not come through...

Oct 8 - preferred studio - BWV (have a DVC discounted cash reservation)
Oct 9 - preferred studio - BWV (have a DVC discounted cash reservation)
Oct 4-12 - standard studio - BWV
Oct 4-12 - BCV

So far I've picked up Oct 5, 6 & 10.

I was picking up one about every 10 days but it has been since July 13 when i picked up Oct 6.

We were planning on visiting 10/11-10/17. Right now we have a studio 10/11 and 10/14-15 at OKW and nothing for the 12th, 13th or 16th. We are waitlisted for those days at OKW in a studio or all of the days at SSR or BW. I'm thinking it's only a slim chance of coming through, but I will book for Feb. if it doesn't work out.

Some of our waitlists came through. We now have OKW for 10/11 and 10/13-10/16. So we are only missing a studio on the 12th. I am now waitlisted for everywhere for a studio on the 12th. I am so thankful that the waitlists came through on the other days. We have a cash ressie at All Star Sports on the 12th just in case. Fingers crossed!

Have you inquired about the a cash discounted rate at OKW? Then you wouldn't have to move...

Yes, I did check on that. They had availability, but I didn't want to spend the $. I decided to be cheap this trip! All Star Sports AAA rate is $84 for the one night, so that won me over!

Ok - we passed ROFR - now we need to wait about 4 weeks to close - that will leave us about month and half to change our ressies and use our new DVC points.

Anybody gotten their waitlist lately? Ours hasn't changed at all! I getting a little worried!! Still WL'd for OKW plus WL'd for any DVC resort for the week. NOTHING!!! Not even SSR available. Wow--October is really gonna be packed this year.

I've been wait listed for a BWV studio for Oct. 13 since April. I want to add a day to my trip. Nada so far.

Just canceled my waitlist for October 12th. Already had a cash reservation for that night and wanted to use the points for a trip in Feb. If that waitlist came thru that would have borrowed from 2009 to cover the 2008. As it is I had to borrow from 2010 to cover the 2009!

We just cancelled waitlist for Oct 12 for all resorts studio. Staying off site until Monday. Currently have AKV 13-18 but waitlisted for 16-18 for BCV or VWL for a change. Would gladly stay at AKV if waitlist does not come through.

Called MS today to check availability for Oct 12th. We are planning on adding a day onto our vacation. Guess what... NO availability anywhere, any size. NADA at all on the 12th. She had no cash rooms available either for that day. So I guess I'll be calling CRO tomorrow to try for a moderate. I didn't bother to WL--we've already got so many going now I didn't want to waste another 30 minutes on the phone so she could set up that one night.

We are WL'd for the night of the 16th for a 2BR anywhere. She had no availability for that night either except for a 1BR at SSR (won't do us any good for 6 people). She did have a 1BR cash night at OKW too. Oh, and she had a cash night for an OKW GV for $1,300! Said I'd pass on that but thanks anyway!

We are on WL for a 1BR at BCV, BWV or VWL from 9/28-10/4 (we've been on WL since late July).

We currently have a 1BR at OKW. If we get the opportunity to stay at either of the 3 WL resorts, we'll take it as we'd like to try all the resorts eventually & know these 3 are the hardest to get. However, we'll be happy in our large room at OKW if the WL doesn't come through.
