I just read an unfortunate trip report from someone who was on the Magic in the Med. in late August. There was apparently a sewer smell in their stateroom which was late followed by a sewage pipe bursting in the hallway which lead to a serious mess and odor for the rest of the cruise.

They were in room 2648 ... we will be in 2632...

They did not speak favorably of the way Disney handled the situation and they weren't not allowed to switch rooms...

Freaks me out!!! Should I be worried????

I totally read the same report and freaked out a bit myself. I'd never heard of the "sewer smell" on the ships before and I guess it's a thing that happens something (?).

I'm in 2552, so same floor but down a ways. And y'know I think it'll end up being fine. It's horrible that it happened on that cruise, but they're going to *have* to have fixed it by the time we get on board. So hopefully that will help some.

Plus, it's a Disney vacation! I'm so excited and I'm sure it'll be wonderful so I'm trying to tell myself that it's not worth worrying about something I can't do anything about (and probably won't even happen on our trip).

Now if only September could fly by...

I ended up calling today and paying for an upgrade. It was around $600 for both my husband and I to move to a room with a Navigator's verandah.

I would hope the sewer thing would be fixed but I feel better with our new arrangements.

I ended up calling today and paying for an upgrade. It was around $600 for both my husband and I to move to a room with a Navigator's verandah.

I have always wanted to see one of those rooms!! I am thinking that a Nav verandah would be perfect for an Alaskan cruise (which we would love to go on in 2013 ). Anyways, I think you will much enjoy the open window!!!

Hi All!! I can't believe we are getting so close. Under 1 month now!!!

So I just purchased my FE today (I'm Sooooooooo not crafty) and I want to get moving on my gifts. Does anyone know (Scott?) when the FE list will be closed? I don't want to buy now and not have enough if more people join. But I also don't want to buy too much if more people don't join. Thanks alot!

nice! DH Dave would love the map. He watches the TV station about where the ship is, how far it's traveled, how far to next port, etc.

I think the closing date was Sept. 1 for FE exchange and if anyone else wishes to join they do so with understanding they may not get gifts from every room.

Hello all! Taking our first disney cruise soon. we are a family of 4 Luis & Marti and children Matthew 4 &3/4 and Audrey 2&3/4 with grandparents celebrating their 55th anniv and pappap's 80th! So new to everything... so forgive me for any ignorance on this thread, but would love to get our family involved and meet other disney fans. We are located in south florida. Can the leader of this cruise FE group reply and let us know if we can get in on the fun! Any advise too for 1st time cruisers would be greatly appreciated.

The upgrade fairy even flies to Down Under. We are gettting excited now as we leave for our grand 6 week holiday on Friday. Jennie

We are getting allllll sooooooooooooooooo close to our cruise . DW and I went to Sams Club today and bought Disney gift cards for the cruise. Picked up more goodies for the FE. I will be soon bring in the suite cases to the front room to pack. If I had suite cases in front room now DW would be packed already.I`m sure this is happening at all our cruise buddies houses too.
