I went to the Summer Solstice Celebration yesterday at the Kimmel Center in Philly. 15 Hours of music, dance, entertainment all for the hefty sum of $15! What a deal. I got there when it started...Philadelphia Orchestra Played...they sounded magnificent in Verizon Hall! THen a strin ensemble, then Irish Dancers, Peter Nero on piano, Opera singers Salsa lessons etc... I was enjoying it so much and afraid to miss a thing that I didn't get anything to eat until after 9PM!!! I was starving. Pam met me there around 7:30PM and we got home at 2AM...did not stay the whole night for the drums to bring up the sun at 5AM this morning!! Next year I may get a hotel room up the street so I can totter to the room for 1 or 2 hours sleep then go back for the drums. It was a blast!!! I figured I payed $1.50/hour of entertainment. Can't beat it! Of course I am paying for it now!

Off to Chicago next weekend to pick out the tile etc.

Sandy- Got your message...I always seem to miss you. However this time it was worth it! Glad to hear Ted's dad is doing better. I knew the confusion would clear up. Actually being in ICU drives most people batty...sensory overload. I have seen 30 & 40 yr olds get loopy in ICU. Make sure they start the therapy in the hospital. And when you go to look a places after the hospital make sure they actually do the therapy ordered!!! You know that they can always have physical therapists come to the house.

Jeanne: Welcome back! Sounds like you and Summer had a great time.

Bonnie: WOW! Sounds like you sure got a lot of music for your buck.

Our dinner with my parents went quite well last night. They really enjoyed it.

Nice, sunny day today. We have no place to be for a change!

We do have a showing this afternoon, if they show up.

Hi everyone. We decided to go see Paul's parents for the weekend at the last minute on Friday. And, Thursday evening the cable was out because of a huge thunderstorm and I couldn't get on to post. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was quiet and relaxing except for the drive to their house in thunderstorms. But we made it safely and return trip was uneventful.

I have to work late tomorrow so I probably will not be back on until Tuesday. I have a late meeting tomorrow from 5:00-8:00. Wonder what they will bring in for dinner?

Miss you guys!
Later!

Another cold and rainy Monday.

Nothing else going on.

Hi guys,

Welcome home Jeanne. Sounds like you had a good time. Wish my vacation was going ok!

Bonnie, sounds like you had a fantastic time. And....for only 15.00. Wow!

Denine, Heidi made your soup and it was to die for. Yummy! I was going to call you but I didn't have your number on my cell like I thought. Good luck on the house. No shows are awful! Poor baby, Kaleigh!

Julie, sorry about the migraine. A lot of that going around!

Sally, happy to see you posting again. Where is Barb?? I was going to call her as well but didn't have her number in my cell as well. How is your weather? We have been in Monument and has rained everyday. Looked pretty wet down your way as well. I can't believe how much rain we got yesterday here at the house. Unbelievable amount. I heard 2 or 3 inches on the TV this AM. One road was about to wash out so they had to close it. It was like a huge sink hole. Of course, with all that is going on we were caught driving in it up to Lookout Mtn (Ted's dads house) and then back down to our house.
On I-70 people were stopping because of low visibility due to the torrential rain. What a nightmare!

Lori, did you get the rain on Sunday?

Ted's dad.....let's see. He was finally moved to a nursing home for therapy. His mind has seemed to slip again. He called Ted and told him to hurry and come get him as he was in a school house (in a different town, Boulder) and was getting rain. He was sleeping in a closet and needed DEET because of the mosquitos. Poor baby. Seeing that from someone who was so sharp a week ago that is hard. Bonnie, thanks for the tidbit to make sure that he gets the therapy ordered. I will pass it on to Ted. I am worried about Ted. It is supposedly our vacation but he is busier than ever with this and the hail. He needs to slow down for HIMSELF! Does he listen to me?????? NO! His sister is coming back in two weeks. Until then...... I got soooooooo angry at his sister and niece last night. They both called and didn't like the home Ted chose. He only had a few hours to choose and he looked at several that the hospital recommended. He did the best he could in the amount of time given and of course he was still working at the time he chose. THE GALL! She went ahead and took HER vacation while we didn't and then criticizes. Sorry, I needed to vent.

Well, we are at the house for the contractor to look at it for the hail damage estimate. They were hounding us as well. Will probably go back to the trailer sometime today. Don't know if I will be back on or when for the next 2 weeks. Have a good one everyone!

P.S.
 Hi Heidi, Walgreens and Walmart didn't have the walker for Grandpa like they said on the phone last night. Dad will probably try a medical supply store this morning.

Sandy, Barb is not allowed to surf the web anymore so she can't post.

Yes, we have had a lot of rain thank goodness. Yesterday there was hail though and the heaviest downpour that I have seen in years.....

Denine, I feel for you selling your house. We had bought a house for Barb to live in after her divorce and when she remarried and moved into their home we went in and completely painted every room, new carpet and I decorated, borders, stenciling, etc. Then we put it on the market and played the waiting game. It finally sold but I am not sure I would ever do all that again or not. I couldn't see where it helped sell the house.

We went to see "The Notebook" last night. I really liked it....it was sad because I had friends that went through something like that....but it was also a beautiful story I thought. And of course they had some sex scenes in it they could have done without but then that is true of most movies today.

I need to get back to my laundry and cleaning my scrapbook room....

SANDY & TED: Remember "No good deed goes unpunished". The one who has the most responsibility is always the WORSE one & is doing everything wrong but the one who comes for visits & phones is doing everything perfect.

DENINE: Good luck with the selling of your house. There is a superstition that you need to bury St. Anthony in your yard to help sell your house. Can't hurt!

Haven't seen Joyce for ages but back to work tomorrow. I got invited to her daughter Lesley's bridal shower on July 17th & I went & bought her the baking items on her list & will make her a "baking basket".

Weather is perfect in N.J. Summer & Teddy are off to Atlantic City for two nights so I am all by my lonesome (I bet some of you are envious). Bob is off to Wildwood on business. My roommate moved in with her divorcing girlfriend. Peace & quiet. Tonight I think I'll light some candles & soak in the tub with a wine cooler:drinking: Have fun, stay healthy, think cruise:boat:. Toodles :wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

:wave2: Hi everyone. I have had a bad morning today and needed my DIS fix to get through the day. My friend and I were supose to go rollerblading but with the bad rain that is supose to come, we will probably go out to have a drink, and boy do I need it.

After all the excitement about getting my car fixed, it won't be fixed. The insurance agent said my deductible was $240 and then the claims person said it was $500. The agent was wrong and appologized for the mistake but I am still disappointed. I was mad but have calmed down because he was very sincere and extremely sorry and appologetic. He is canceling the claim for me and he said if something happens to my car that I need to get fixed that he would throw the bumper in too. Hopefully nothing else happens so I am still thinking about just going to the delearship and getting it covered up for $100. I guess something is better than nothing.

If only today I could find good airfare for the October cruise, I would book it..I think I need it to get me out of my bad day!!

HEIDI: So sorry about your car. Joyce & I still don't have our airfare for October & I am getting nervous:scared: The airfare is usually booked by now! I don't know if your Mom told you but we offered to share our cabin with you.:boat:

Just checking in... Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Hi everyone! Just checking in. Been fighting this migraine now since Fri. It has gotten better, but with today's weather it came back in full force!!! And dealing witht he three kiddies........ CALGON take me away!!!!!!! Garry has been working his **** off since last wednesday night. These 10 hour nights are killers if you end up with more then 4 nights in a row! Plus working the double Sat/Sun and then going in Sun night for another 10 hours, let's just say he is a walking zombie! Maybe we could send him and Ted off for some much need R&R!

Bonnie, sounds like a GREAT time! Maybe next year we could do a Dis'er road trip for it!

Sandy, give Ted a big hug from us! Hang in there. My father went through the same thing with his mother. His brother and sister in law just had fits over everything! I really think so people aren't happy unless they have something to complain about!

Heidi, sorry to hear about the car problems. I would go for the $100 cover up job too. You know, if you want to go on the Oct cruise, we cruise the week before and we could have you come along with us and then you could just stay on board and cruise with the rest of the cruisers. That way you can meet all of us!!! Have I told you lately..........YOU"RE A HOTTIE!!!!

Jeanne, glad to hear you have some quiet time. Can I trade places with you just for a day or two?:teeth: You're not the only ones who don't have airfare yet for Oct. We don't either. I'm hoping for something to come along!

Denine, did you have the showing or did they cancel too? THis weather doesn't help either! Hopefully this week's weather will improve. Hey, can Jerry get off during the week? Garry and I were thinking about maybe hitting Cedar Point later this week (Thurs looks real good weather wise) or next month. We figure during the week is better then the weekend. If you don't do cedar point, I completely understand!

Sally, when you said that Barb isn't allowed to surf anymore, did you mean from work?

Hi to everyone else! Lori, Susan, Sally, Krista, Laura, and Barb.

Oh, and since I haven't been feeling good.... I forgot again, BUT

HAAPY BE-LATED BIRTHDAY TO JOHN LANDAAL!!! (it was the 27th of june! Sorry!!!)

Well gonna go! Will be back later!

Just a quick morning post to say hello.

I hate to hear Barb can't post form work anymore. We do miss her here.

Julie - hope your migraine goes away soon.

Heidi - sorry about the insurance mix-up.

Jeannie - enjoy your quiet time. I am envious.

Sandy - prayers and pixie dust still being sent your way (for Ted, too). Hang in there.

Denine - have faith. Your house will sell. I know it is frustrating to keep it pristine and then have no shows. But it will all be worth it when you are finally in your new home!

Sally - glad to see you posting again. You have been missed too. After what Sandy went through, I hope you didn't get any hail damage!

Bonnie - sounds like you had a great time in Philly. What a very economical day of entertainment!

I gotta go get ready for work. After getting home so late last night I feel like I am truning right around and going back in. I'm going to try to get out early one day this week (who knows, maybe today!).

Miss you guys, Later!

Jeanne - thanks for the room offer, that would be fun.

Julie - I am so sorry about your migraines. I feel for you because I know first hand how horrible they are. I hope you feel better soon. I couldn't even imagine taking care of kids, having a husband at work and having a migraine. Poor you. I didn't realize you are cruising the week before. How fun it would be to take the back to back cruises, thanks for the invitation I might just have to work something out ;) (too bad I don't have enough days off!!!) When I read your post about me being a hottie, it brought a huge smile to my face and I chuckled out loud, thanks for making my morning better!!!

Denine - hang in there, it will get sold soon.

:wave2: Hi everyone else who is lurking or just too busy to get on and will read this later.

Thanks Susan for missing me.....didn't know if anyone knew I hadn't posted or not...lol

Yes, Barb can't post from work....they are checking now. She can send emails to me but sometimes mine get sent back.

I am going to Curves this morning...haven't been going for awhile....I was too busy shampooing carpet and cleaning closets, drawers, etc. I am getting ready for a yard sale. I hate doing yard sales but I have so much stuff that is worth something I hate to just give it all away....which I have done all year.

Another dark day looking like rain....but I am not complaining...lol

Happy birthdays to everyone that has had them the last few weeks......

Hey, where is everyone today? Denine usually posts by now! I think it is time to send out the mounties!!!

I'm glad you posted too Sally! I missed you as well!

Gonna go, will post more tonight.

And the headache keeps going and going and going!!!!!!!

It was a beautiful day today! :sunny:

The people that came the other day thought the house was too small. We did have a showing this afternoon and she really liked it and thought it would be perfect. She is in her 20's but still lives with mom. Mom is the one buying the house. They are coming back tomorrow afternoon so mom can see it. Keep your fingers crossed! :hyper:

Sandy: It is probalby being in the different surroundings that is causing the confusion. GIve it a few days. I agree with Julie, Ted and Garry need some time off!

Julie: I'll ask Jerry if he can "work" from home, but I doubt it since he came home a couple hours early last week. Hope your headache is better soon. Maybe you need to borrow one of Jerry's Imitrex.

Sally: I think in the end, having the house look nice will make a difference. We went looking at our "competition" on Sunday and found homes in deplorable condition that were priced higher than ours. And yes, your posts were missed.

Too bad Barb can't post from work anymore. Jerry can't either.

Heidi: I would get the $100 dollar cover-up. Which soup recipe did you make?

Denine and Julie "thanks for noticing" heehee

Not much doing today...no rain yet....I went to Curves, Walmart and that is about it. A very lazy day.

The single girl sounds promising Denine....I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Julie, what is with this headache.....you sound like my daughter Linda...when she gets a bad one it goes on and on and makes her really sick. I use to get them but after I went through the change everything changed. Now the only headache I get is sinus and they aren't bad...a pill take care of it.

Does anyone watch For Love or Money or Who wants to marry my dad? Next week Big Brother and Amazing Race starts. If it wasn't for the reality shows there would be nothing on in the summer.

Sally - yes I watch For Love or Money and Who wants to marry my dad. I also watch simple life, joe schmoe, soon to be big brother and amazing race. My mom and I are reality show junkies!!!

Wow Denine, sounds good..I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I wish my mom would by me a house!!! :smooth:

The girl is still going to be living with mom. Mom isn't buying her a house. Hope she likes it or that daughter can talk her into it.

Doing a little extra cleaning today so that the house really looks good.

Took Kaleigh to the mall yesterday morning. I needed to buy more Tupperware for the pantry. I still need one more piece, but they were out of that size.

We finally watched Brother Bear the other night. It was good.

Don't watch any reality shows and have never seen any. We watch baseball during the summer. We really want to get to a game this year.

Supposed to be another beautiful day today. Everything always seems better when it is :sunny:

Denine - Oh I see, I misunderstood...but I still wish my mom would by me a house!!!! Daughters can talk their mom into anything....right mom?

Sally - I really think he is going for the money and Rachel is going for the money, but I think PJ is going for love. I was shocked that he let go of Rebecca. I thought those 2 would end up together at the end, boy was I mistaken. Haven't had the time to this weeks episode of Who Wants to Marry My Dad. It looks like it was a pretty exciting episode. This reality show has to be based off of another reality show called Meet My Folks because it has the same twists as that show!!!

A funny thing happened at lunch today. I was in training this morning with some coworkers and we decided to go to lunch at a chinese buffet. I was standing in line with a friend and telling her how much my parents liked this restaruant.....guess who showed up 20 minutes after us, my parents!!!! It was so funny!!!
