hi guys! Been another CRAZY week in the Lauter house! Makenzie had a research paper , repeat RESEARCH PAPER on an animal that could never be a pet that was due on Friday. She did the Cheetah. I was very proud of her. It was 2 and 1/2 pages written and 1 and 1/2 typed. She turned in both the hand written and typed. Makenzie wanted to show her teacher that she DID write her paper so that's why.
Then on Saturday, we had "sleepover at the Mall" for girlscouts. What it is, is exactly what is reads! We went to one of the local malls (Southpark- Denine) at 8pm and there were a lot of troops there from Brownie age to Sr. girl scouts). We all stayed at the "center court" of the mall until it closed.(9pm). They cleared the mall of everyone who wasn't a girlscout or a worker for the event and then the girls had the run of the mall! We took our sleeping bags to the "disignated brownie area" and then the girls went shopping! They had several stores open for this event that girls love~ Build a Bear, Claire's hair and fashion, Limited Too, Dick's sporting goods, Aeropostales(sp) and several others. We also have an indoor glow in the dark putt putt course in this mall as well for the girls to do. They had McDonald's and Subway open late if anyone wanted to eat, a popcorn stand and a Pretzel stand as well. Plus they had inflatables all over the mall! Makenzie did a bungi cord trampoline thing and they all went down the inflatable slide. They had a dance party at midnight and at 2am did a count down to spring and when the clocks changed, they showed the movie High School Musical for the girls. Our troop made it half way threw the film before they wanted to go to sleep. The girls finally fell asleep (well the last one) was at 4:30am. I got about 20 minutes if anything. I couldn't sleep since this was the first time we did anything like this, so I was watching our girls like a mother hen. the other leader and myself talked most of the night and at 6:30am we finally went and got some coffee. We got the girls up at 7:30am and we had to leave the mall at 8:30am. The mall was "locked down" for then night and you couldn't get in or out (unless it was an emergency) until they unlocked the doors at 8:30am. There was PLENTY of secruity there and EVERYONE had to wear a color coded name tag. (girls were yellow, troop leaders and other parents were orange, event staff were pink and people working in the stores or stands were green). IF you didn't have a name tag on, they escorted you out of the mall. I was very pleased with the secruity there.
Yesterday we tried to catch up on some sleep and then today was "back to the grind". SO..... that's what has been going on with us!
Barb, sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully the girls can work it out by themselves and the mom's can stay out of it.
Heidi, Garry has some training coming up too. He's going to Vegas for 3 days! Nice training huh!
Sandy, I'd help you with your basement, if you help me with mine!!!
Denine, hope everything works out with Jerry's work. You sure you couldn't work in a long weekend in June???????????? Tom and Jerry will be missed~!
Jeanne, how's everything going? Glad to see you posting!
Hi Sally! I hope everyone is staying healthy!
Barb, we are going to WDW on the 5th of June and coming home on the 21st. We are staying at the BWV's in a one bedrooom. Boy do I love the location of the BWV's! We even saved points by getting a standard view room! Now those are hard to come by.
Well gotta go. I'll be back later!!!
