Denine, I love the library program for Kaleigh. It will be PERFECT for her to interact with kids. I think being an only child that it is exactly what she needs.....and it will be FUN!

Sandy-So are you considering going on the repo cruise??

Denine-The program sounds fun. I bet Kaleigh will love it!

Denine- I forgot the details. Here is what I know...
November 27 to December 11th (14 days)
Holland America (do you know anything about them?)
From :boat: San Diego

Barb, nah, I doubt we will go. The people I was referring to was a great, fun group of people. They had the table next to ours and always ordered one of every dessert and then just shared them. The very first night we started talking. I don't think I have ever laughed so much. I hear Holland America is a great cruise. Why don't you go to CruiseCritic and look them up.

Barb if you don't show up until the 27th you are going to get left on the dock....Nov 26th-llth...l5 days Leave San Diego and at sea for 4 days; arrive at Hilo, Hawaii on the 5th day;Honolulu on the 6th and 7th day; Lahaina, Maui on the 8th day;Kona on the 9th day;at sea 4 days and go to Ensenada, Mexico on the l4th day and San Diego on the l5th day.

There are ll of us going so it should be a lot of fun....we are sailing on the Holland America which we were on when we went to Panama Canel cruise for l7 days. Even on the same ship, the Zaandam. There are a lot of those dam ships.... :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Oh my gosh Mom you made me laugh! Wasn't expecting that from you. :rotfl2:

So good thing I have you to keep me straight! I would have been so sad to get there and find out you sailed without me!

I have to get my passport this summer.

The Hawaii cruise sounds awesome, 15 days on a cruise ship, just my way of life! HAL is a great line. I would love to sail it some day. We were supposed to sail about 4 years ago, but a little someone came into our lives and we had to cancel. princess:

Just waiting for Jerry to come home and Kaleigh is still napping. I can't stand this coming home 2-1/2 hours later than normal. Jerry doesn't even like the class he is taking, but his manager wants him to take it. He has next week off and then start up again on the 10th. The thing is, he is going in at his regular time to get work done before class starts. So, he is putting in 11 hour days.

I just made a boatload of marinara sauce. I don't know where I am going to put it all. I need another freezer now!

Denine, we cross posted. You made me laugh about the boatload of marinara sauce. If we all lived closer you could have us all over for dinner. lol

Denine- Do you can the sauce? Freeze it?? What all do you use it for? :stir:

Hi guys! Sorry to post sooooooo long after we got back last Thursday, but it has been a CRAZY few days since we got back. We left Orlando at 2:30pm last Thurs. We were suppose to land in Clev. at 5:30pm. Around 4:30ish the pilot got on the speaker and said that Clev was getting socked with a bad rain (the stuff Jeanne has now) and we were going to go to Pitts. airport to wait it out. NOW, I'm no expert in weather but weather usually moves west to east, right? So I said to Garry, why would we go to Pitts if Clev. is getting the rain. It's the rain going to hit Pitts? So after about another hour or so we seem to be circling and the pilot gets on and says that Pitts. had some micro burst and lightening strikes and has lost power so we are now looking for another place to land. NICE! Well, after some time, he comes back on and says we are landing in Balt. until the weather clears up. SO, about 7pm ish we land in Baltimore and they said that they are looking into getting us a gate so we can get off. So we get a gate, we get off,no one knows when we will leave or anything but they tell us to stay in the gate area because we could leave at anytime. Well, we decide to get some airport "pizza" for $8 per personal pan size of cardboard and sit tight. Meanwhile they are anouncing the flight coming FROM Clev will be arriving at Gate 8 (the one we were at) will be arriving around 8:30. They mention this several times about the incoming flight and our gate. Well, around 8:30ish they tell us to board and that we will be taking off ASAP. SO we all get on board, we taxi out and then sit. The pilot gets on and says "all routes are closed so we are in a "hold" until they give us the ok". Well, after about 1hr of sitting on a airplane, that the air did work well, if at all, and that we were told to keep our seatbelts on since we could take off at ANYTIME a few of us started to ask, how long the wait was going to be, and if it was going to be long, could we go back to the gate and either find another way home or just to get off and walk around. The flight crew wasn't very friendly AT ALL even before this event happened. Anyways, the flight attendant must have told the pilot that a few people wanted to go back to the terminal and he comes on and he was very rude I might add, saying that a few of us passengers are causing some tense moments and we could take a vote on the plane if we want to go back to the terminal but we would lose our 1st place take off place if we did go back (oh yeah I forgot to say that we told the flight attendant if they knew we couldn't fly why just tell us they need the gate because they were saying in the terminal that a flight was coming in at the gate we were at and since we weren't a scheduled arrivival that the airport needed us to move out. I due know that airports do move planes out like that since my brother works for southwest airline) and that those of us who are saying that we just had to move out of the gate that we are mis-informed. Well, now it's about 2 hours now we are sitting on the plane in the middle of nowhere and they decide to serve non-alcohol beverages to the plane. NOW there were no more pretzels, peanuts, nothing on the plane since they didn't restock it when we were at the gate. They didn't even have the right cups, so people were drinking pop with hardly any ice in coffee cups. Now the guy infront of me begins the chant, lets take a vote..... so the flight attendant gets on and asks the plane if we want to go back to the terminal, and of course over half the plane was like nooooooooooooo. I said how long are we going to sit here? Garry said You have to have SOME kind of idea of when we are going to leave. Give us a time frame. With radar and knowing that so many flights got diverted along with the scheduled flights, they should have some kind of idea. Well, no one could answer that question and the pilot gets on again and really snotty says if you want to go back to thee airport and find another flight home be our guest, we will take you back, but we will lose our spot..blah blah blah. I will add that the kids were VERY VERY well behaved during this whole thing. Brooke had some moments what 2yr would. Well, about a half hour later, we are told we are taking off and finally do. We got off the plane in Clev. at 11:10pm. Needless to say, no one was happy!

After all that, I come home to find out that the Big Guy's surgeon called on the 19th to say that he could have his surgery on fri 23th but I have to call them back, well obviously that didn't happen and now it is scheduled for Aug 17th. My mom is having her other hip replaced on July 5th, The Big Guy starts safety town that day, and Makenzie has her tonsils removed on July 10th and we have to figure out how to get the Big Guy to safety town on that day, not to mention Garry going back to work with a situation with an officer that happened when we were on vacation. So, that is what's been going on around here.

Barb, can I PLEASE go in your suitcase? As long as you have the correct dates! LOL!!!

Heidi, Stacey, Sandy, sorry to hear about your hail. KEEP that out there!!!! We have enough rain and stuff like that over here!!!

Jeanne, We started to build an ark, do you want us to come pick you up?

Denine, we live close, I could take some of that sauce off your hands!!! LOL! Oh yeah, Old Blue (the double stroller) finally died. It had been really good to us (it lasted 5yrs and I think it was last year that the girls rode in the seats and the Big Guy sat in one of the baskets underneath) butthe last sunday night, the rear wheel came off. So we temporairly fixed it for that night and then Garry and I went down to down town disney the next day and I bought one of those Kolocraft strollers we saw down there. I was going to get the one at Winn Dixie but this one was better built and had a little storage bag and a drink holder so I went with the better one. Brooke loves it and thinks it's hers for her baby doll. Garry and Makenzie did very well walking those last few days. It slowed us down a little, but no one really complained. (well at least after the first few hours!). SO we are now a ONE STROLLER family! YEAH! I do have another single stroller up here that we have used in Disney before that is light weight and has a basket underneath so we will use that in Oct. This Kolocraft stroller will be put to good use though!

Well, I think that I have gotten everyone tired of reading so I will stop now. I'll be back later!

JULIE: First of all I want to know what airline you flew! I get a great deal of satisfaction writing letters. First you try to find out who is the President or CEO of the airline & try to write or e-mail him directly. One flight I had with the two boys from Cancun to Newark, Newark to Philadelphia. We arrived at Newark & they were "having problems with the plane". We waited and waited and then they decided to BUS us to Philadelphia. To add to the insult they gave us a 5 minute calling card and a free drink on a future flight instead of our refund for our flight. Well we were not even off the bus and people were e-mailing the CEO of Continental Airlines via laptop. We ended up getting three free roundtrip tickets!

SANDY: Are the pirates talking you into the cruise? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

BARB: That cruise sounds wonderful. I think you better go out a few days early just to be sure you are there on time. Ensenada wasn't my cup of tea but the other Hawaiian Ports sound marvelous :cloud9:

Joyce & I worked together today and then back to our old routine. We went to Los Amigos. It has probably been a month since we had Margaritas and crab cakes

Hope you all have a Worry-free Wednesday. Toodles  JEANNE

Jeanne, it was Continental Airlines. Maybe I should have you send a letter for me so I'd get free tickets. LOL!!! This was the first time we have ever had a problem with that airline. I wonder who the CEO is for Continental. Hmmmmm....

Julie - that was a horrible experience. I agree with Jeanne, you should write a letter (or have her do it!!!!). At least you made it home on the same day you were supose to!!! (Almost missed it by like 30 minutes!!!!) Thank god the kids were good for you, I don't think I would be very good and patient and I am 26!!!!

My mom is down at the campground so she won't be able to post today.

Jeanne - I haven't had mexican food since May 21st and I think I may be going through withdrawals!!!

Denine - I love marinara sauce, you can always ship some to me. ;)

Barb - that is so cool that you get to go on a Hawaiian cruise, I want to go on one too, one of these days!!! We went and ate at the Cracker Barrel on Saturday and I was hoping to run into you, but never happened.

Julie, when I read about your flight experience I thought for sure it must be Delta.....I have had two bad experiences with them and Patti had a really bad one that ended up costing her an additional $3500 because she had to buy tickets for everyone twice because there wasn't anyone at the desk and they missed their plane....

My living room and dining room is finished......the kitchen is except I want to go through my cabinets and drawers again and see it there is anything else I can sell at a garage sale....they are so full it isn't even fun to look for anything in them.

I need to work outside today.....my flower beds in front need some tlc...when Rick was here he bought me the cutest fountain of two kids and a pump. You might have seen them at Walmart in the garden shop. He put them out in the backyard by my greenhouse but I am going to move them to the patio I think so I can enjoy them. He also bought me some add ons for my birdfeeder and moved it closer to the patio and the birds love it...so do I.

My daughter that lives in Texas is leaving today for China, Japan and a couple other countries. Her husband likes to travel and I don't think there is anyplace they haven't been in the last 23 years. But her favorite thing is to cruise so she is going with us without her husband because he doesn't like to cruise if you can believe that.

We haven't had that much rain this spring or summer although some parts of the Spring have had more than we have, but they got hail with it so I don't feel bad....I will use the sprinkles

Don't worry about Barb missing the cruise...now she knows the sailing date she will be in her tent (air mattress, stand, lamp, tv, books, etc.) on the dock. You should have seen her tent the last time we went camping...she had all the comforts of home and I have a picture to prove it :rotfl2: Roughing it is not a word in her vocabulary :lmao:

Somehow, I managed to get all the marinara sauce in my freezer. This is the first time I have made it and it makes ALOT! I will use it for various Italian dishes. It was really good though. I did doctor the recipe a bit. It only called for 2 cloves of garlic, I put in 5. I also added burgandy wine and extra herbs. Jerry and Kaleigh really like it too. Italian dinner at my house!

I managed to get back on the treadmill today after a week hiatus. But we did go for a walk last night.

Kaleigh is being whiny today.

I can't wait to go to work on Friday!

Hi guys, I am back for the day and then we stay at the campground until Tues.

Barb and Sally, I keep hearing on your news about the rain, rain and more rain in the Springs. Interesting that you aren't getting it. I was getting a little nervous on Sat. that we should have brought the canoe. We really had a gully washer at the campground along with the hail.

All you Easterners. Stay dry. Sounds like you have it pretty bad! We are getting it here but like Sally said, some here and some there. Never know when it will hit.

Denine, your marinara sauce sounds so yummy. Just name the time and I believe we will ALL be there. I will stop and get the garlic bread. No wait, Heidi can. She makes the best. Hmmmmm, I can bring the wine.

And Julie, oh my gosh. What a horrible experience. It would have been bad enough for just adults but to add children on top of all that, you must have been miserable. I would definitely write a letter. DEFININTELY!!
