October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

Good Morning

Thought I would get a quick note in before I leave today. My Mom, Niece and I are taking a "Disney Cruise" scrap book class.

The meeting at work was not good news for a lot of the members on my team. My team is made up of 3 speciality units. I take escalated calls. TSS take technical calls from Territory Sales Managers and THL takes tech calls from our CSR's. THL is no longer going to be a unit so they are on going back on customer calls which is very sad for them because this was a promotion to get on the team. Tss and my unit are being combined and I will be cross trained but we will also be taking CEO complaints. My team will be losing about half our members. I will just have more responsibilities which is fine by me. I am looking forward to the additional duties. But I feel terrible for those other team members. Thrusday was a very emotional day at work!

I also found out Thursday that some SUPER good friends of ours are moving. I am so sad they are such a part of my life. I cried and cried Thrusday night.

Barb: How sad for your group at work and for you with your friends moving.

We had a nasty storm last night. We drove home from my parents in it. We still had power, but no phones. They just came back.

Kaleigh is still running a fever with no other symptoms. Mom's? Opinions please! It is hanging around 102.

Bonnie: How wonderful for you! Julie is arriving on the 7th. You will just miss her. How we wish we could go!

Sandy: We could do dinner too. With 2 weeks on the ship, we could do 1 group brunch and 1 group dinner and still do dinner by ourselves. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Heidi: I am sure Stacey will love the ducky theme!

The 1st Panama cruise leaves today! How exciting!

Hi All! I hope the Stacey's shower went well! I'm sure it did.

Barb, I'm sorry that you got some bad news from work and your friends. I know that it must be hard. Look at it this way, now you will have another place to vacation!! Thank goodness for phones, email, and cars!!!! You will always be friends no matter the distance!!!

Heidi and Sandy, so send us pictures of the shower!!!!!! I want to see the rubber duckies!!! Stacey's face when she saw it!!!! We want all the details!!!

Bonnie, we are arriving June 7th at 7pm. Why don't you stay one more day????????? We can get together when we arrive! Drinks? Jellyrolls? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Since Denine and Jerry BAILED on us, we want to see some of our family!!!! And since wen (Susan, Paul, Turner, and Heidi too...) are the only ones who AREN'T going on the Panama cruise.... you can stay just 1 more day couldn't you???????

Denine, hang in there with Kaleigh! It is going around and takes about 5 to 7 days to get rid of it IF she isn't throwing up (that version last only 24/48 hours). So it's official.... you guys are bailing on us in June??? Sure now we know where we stand! LOL! You can go on a 2 week cruise with everyone else, BUT you can't come for a few days with us......... thanks ok, we'll survive I GUESS. sigh. $253 out of Akron June 14-19 OR $238 out of Akron with stops.

WELL, Makenzie's "school" birthday party went very well. We had several girls who didn't want to go home. We had a total of 12 here for the party. We had 3 boys and 9 girls. (the boys were my nephew, a friends son, and the Big Guy). I had them come since I thought that my parents were going to be home to watch the Big Guy and Brooke, but they couldn't sooooooooooooo, it wroked out very well. It was 2 hours that seemed to go by very quickly. We played some games, ate pizza and birthday cake.

I think that Kaleigh is finally on the mend. No fever this morning!

Julie: We talked about WDW yesterday and decided we couldn't afford it. This morning, Jerry is telling me he is ready to just go. The saga continues.

We put up 1 towel bar yesterday. Jerry wants to get the rest put up today.

Just waiting for my waffles to be ready.

Julie...sorry, but that would mean one more vacation day (already using 2.5 weeks in august) plus I would have to pay another night at hotel...I'm stapping myself as it is.

Dying to know how the shower went!!! Their out having their Sunday brunch so I guess we won't hear until later.

Off to my mom's today to help her fill out financial forms.

We are needing prayers and pixie dust for Ted's dad. Ted just went up to his house and found him on the floor. They are on their way to the hospital. He is talking but Ted isn't real sure if he is understanding everything. Hopefully he just needs a transfusion. Thanks guys!

Off to work - three days in a row because I have to start studying for NALS (Neonatal Advanced Life Support) which we have to take every two years & it is really difficult since I don't really deal with the preemies. I am scheduled to take it 5/25/05. I will just be happy when it's over!

Joyce & I went to the shore. Met Friday at 8 AM for breakfast but Sue was really sick & ended up driving home. Went to Pat's house in Ocean City, N.J. & then to Cape May (which had sidewalk sales). Joyce & I went to breakfast at 7 AM Saturday & met up with her daughter Lesley & our friend Mary (the others slept in) then off we went to the Craft Fair. We headed home by 10:30 AM. The weather was sunny but a little windy. We had a really FUN weekend but ate too much.

Can't stay on now but, just found out that someone on the Repo cruise (the one at Castawy Cay right now) passed away while o the beach today. Supposely of a heart attack or drowning. How sad. I hope to find out more details later.

Oh my Julie, that is so sad.

Just heard from Ted. His dad is staying at the hospital tonight, thank goodness! We didn't know what to do if they didn't keep him. The hospital gave him 2 units of platelets and did a test and found out that the numbers were worse than when he arrived there. That doesn't sound good. He is very coherent now. Thanks for the well wishes.

Barb, sorry about work and your friends.

Jeanne, sounds like a good time this weekend. I saw a picture of the blanket Julie was talking about. It looks nice. How are the "ladies" doing? Good luck on your test.

Julie, we will send pics soon. Sounds like you sent Denine and Jerry on a guilt trip and they are going to join you. Sure wish it would work for me at Christmas time! We want a trip report when you get back.

Bonnie, glad to see you posting. I am jealous that you are going to WDW. I think you will have a blast as long as your friend can keep up with you. We will want a trip report.

The shower went well. Heidi's obsessive planning went well. I wish you could have seen her mixed nut container with rubber duckies floating in it. Soooo cute. Duckies were floating in the punch as well. It turned out so good. Even Stacey's MIL was nice.

I am so tired but am trying to stay up for Ted. Not sure when the hospital will check his dad in to a room. He is still in the emergency room.

Good Morning!

Heidi I want details of the shower. I postpone Missy shower from this weekend.

I was deathly sick yesterday, had one of the worst cases of the flu that I have ever had. One of the many time I was in the bathroom throwing up the potty seat fell and hit my nose so now I have a bruise on my nose.

Loretta (my boss) and her family leave for the Disney Cruise in about 18 days. I have a party planned at work for them. Just got to finish ordering the stuff.

Did I miss a weekend? Was there really a weekend because I didn't feel that I had a weekend but I know I had 3 days off from work!!!

Bonnie - you so suprised me when you used my middle name, that was great!!!! I'll keep working on my mom (it was about this time last year when she broke and let me come on the last cruise)

The baby shower went great. I tried to stay away from Stacey's MIL because when we were in line getting food she thanked me again for helping her. I didn't say anything and acted like I didn't even hear a word she said, I didn't want to comment back, whats important is that my sister knows that I did it. I was at the door saying goodbye to people with my sister and when she walked up I just walked away. She got a lot of good stuff and a lot of people showed up, everybody commented on the food and the rubber ducks. I am not sure if my sister was as impressed and excited as I expected her to be regarding my planning with the ducky's but maybe she just wasn't feeling very well. She was very impressed with my gift idea and hanging all the stuff I got her off a clothes line. Unfortunately I had so much stiff to bring over to her place that I forgot to bring my camera. My cousin took some pictures so she should be emailing them to me soon and we will forward them on to all of you.

Barb - I am sorry your friends are moving. I remember how I felt when I found out my 2 best friends were moving on opposite coasts. Thank goodness you still have your job.

Julie - that is so sad, have you heard anything else regarding what happened on CC?

Okay now I am just jealous, I think I am the only one on this thread that is not doing anything with Disney in 2005, everybody else gets too but me. Sure the Schrolls and the Lauters aren't going on the cruise, but they got to do WDW. NO FAIR!!!!! Now I have to go POUT.

About the death on Castaway Cay here is the only info that is being released:
"Posted to the other thread (Cruisetoberfest IV) but I'm going to post it here as well for emphasis.

Guys, I'm going to say two things here, and we'll leave it at that.

1. We did loose a disboarder yesterday at Serenity Bay. While I (and several other disboarders) assisted in the resuscitation, we (all who were present) agreed that this is not our news to share. It is a tragedy, and while I and others present can speculate on the cause, none of us feel that this should be announced on this board by any of us. The person also has several other friends and family members who were travelling with them (some still on board) and if *THEY* wish to share what happened, it is their right to do so. Until then, I think we should leave this as "We lost a disboarder, it was a tragedy, it has touched the disboard community on this ship *VERY* deeply, and keep the family and friends in your prayers".

2. As I stated above, there are many other disboarders besides myself who were VERY attached to this tragedy in various ways. Do not PM people on this board, or e-mail people on this board looking for information. You will not get it. This information will either come from the family to this community (and the family is part of the community) or it will not come out at all.

So sad about the tragedy on Castaway.

Julie: We are arriving the afternoon of the 14th and leaving the 21st. We are staying in a studio at OKW. We have the airline tickets purchased and the rental car reserved. Both Jerry and I were so excited it took a long time to fall asleep!

Kaleigh's fever is gone, but now she has a cough and a runny nose. I sure hope I don't catch it!

Heidi: It sounds like the shower was very nice. The rubber duckie theme was areally cute idea!

Sandy: Hope Ted's dad is doing better today.

We have all the towel bars and paper holders up but 1. All the holes are fixed from the old ones. We just need to repair a few more holes in our bathroom and then we need to start painting. I also need to work on those laundry room cabinets.

Now, how to lose weight while at WDW?

Julie - Yes I found that blue hawaiian punch and I added Ginger Ale, White Cranberry Peach Juice, and vanilla ice cream to it. It turned out really good and looked really cute.

We played guess the baby food jar game, the girth game, and the don't say the word "baby" game. It was fun but am glad it is over with. I think everybody like the party favors that I made too.

Update on my Grandpa:

He is still in the hospital, and he had a blood transfusion but his count is lower than when he came in, for some reason his body didn't take the blood or the platelets (something like that). My dad and mom are at the hospital with him and they are running several tests. Thats about the only news and I heard it from my sister, so hopefully no news is good news.

I don't think I can handle any more stress, from moving to the baby shower and now to my grandpa...when do I get a stress free week?

Mom - If I forget to tell you, Chris got all of us Rockies tickets on June 6th at 6:30. 9 rows up from the field.

Yes, that is very true!!!!!

I guess my grandpa didn't eat dinner last night so he wasn't doing very well. He was talking about the Kentucky Derby and he thought my mom was my aunt. It breaks my heart to hear stuff like that because it makes me worry and makes me sad. I am sure my mom and dad are having a tough time too, but I am sure my mom is trying to strong for my dad (huh mom!!!!). Hopefully she will be able to get on today, I Am sure she misses everyone, they had such a long day yesterday.

Hi guys,

Ted's dad was doing very well all day yesterday and then took a turn and became confused and feverish at night. Now this morning everything is fine again. They have done cat scans and bacteria and viral tests. He has a HUGE cold sore that they are testing. His immunity is so low that anyone coming in has to wear a mask and must use the special little wash if they touch him. Nothing can be brought in from the outside like fruit, flowers etc. It was a very long day yesterday. We were at the hospital off and on and in between running up the mtn to his house to get meds, paperwork etc. Then we tried finding a nursing home for "therapy". He has accepted that he will probably go in one and will have an extended stay. (his words) All this not knowing is hard. It takes 24 hours to find out any results. His doctor gave orders not to give him anymore platelets until he sees him today. He seems to do really well if he EATS but the new way of the patient ordering the food and it coming straight up to him I feel the nursing staff losing track as far as food is concerned. He lost 16 lbs this past month.

Yes, I am exhausted but doing good. I am upbeat right now. But.....darn, I have both kids the next two weeks. That will be hard!! My diet is definitely suffering from all the fast food that we are eating. We don't have the time to come home and cook. There are just too many miles in between the hospital, Teds dads house and our houe. Ted's sister had a scheduled vacation so she leaves today (understandable). Once again it is all left to Ted though.

Heidi, I talked to Lynn (Chloe) Van Horn about Bill and Martha already this morning. (That is Ted's dads 91 year old brother) She is going to take Bill to visit Grandpa tomorrow. Bill is now eating real food so they are releasing him to an assisted living center next week. For the rest of you, he just had a tumor the size of a baseball taken out.

Julie, I am so psyched for you. 21 more days and you will be in WDW.

Denine, what a loving husband. He gave in to pressure and now you get to go as well.
