On october 18th, 2006, i'll be taking my driver's test to try to get my license.
and i have to take this Alcohol and Drug Awareness class and perfect the parallel park..

so when is everyone else who has their permit getting their license, and what have you not mastered yet?

hmm..well good luck with hat! oh and i'm only in 8th grade so no permit or anything more me!!

I have my permit from Michigan, but seeing as how I moved to FL it's not really valid.

I have to take a two week course online or something, take a test, then maybe do some driving, then I get a license that allows me to drive with an adult. I have that for a year, and then get a full unrestricted license.

I got my license here in MI on June 27th...which was my b-day! I had to go through Segment 1 and 2 of drivers training...and my drivers ed teacher was CRAZY! lol...In seg. 1 I had to take a 100 question test and I passed it...and then I had to take my road test/parking test before I got my license...I was so nervous but I passed! (Obviously since I have my license-haha). Good luck!

My teacher was really, REALLY boring.

The class consisted of...going to the Vending Machine and getting a drink, playing a game that took like 10 minutes, watching a REALLY boring video. The teacher would then re-cap the video, we'd share some stories, and that was usually it.

By the way, who did you go through for the class? I went through All Star Driver's Ed.

well, i still have three years.
over here you can start your learning & stuff six months before you turn 16. however, my parents are against it.
basically, we get the booklit on driving, take the test & get permit, attend a week long course (maybe it's reversed,) take numerous in- car sessions, practice with your parents, take test, get drivers liscense xD
if that made any sense.
i dont' want to drive.
ever.
it scares me.
cos i once road a dirtbike (which AREN'T even hard to drive, it's like a plain bike) and i ended up in a ditch. the idea of operating a vehicle in traffic just scares me.

Actually, freshman year, you take the written part of drivers ed.

A car and a motorcycle are two different machines though. :confused3

Honestly, it's A LOT easier to operate a car than a motorcycle.

Driving scares me. Well, not so much me driving. Everyone around me driving while I'm driving scares me.

i'm just afraid.
i mean lanes & lanes of traffic, the fact that everyone in my city drives like they own the place. so many accidents have happened around here because of people going through a red light. my friend has been in several accidents, due to other people.
and i'm planning on moving to Toronto when i'm older, which will only be worse.

I get my permit in February and then my License a year after that. I can not wait to drive.

I'm 17 and I got my permit last November..I could have had it January 2005.. to be honest, I have only been out really driving on the road a handful of times.. I'm not scared to drive - I'm just afraid of other drivers!! They get me so angry! Seriously- using turn signals, stop at stop signs, yielding while merging, stoping at red lights, not turning on red, and following the speed limit must have went out of fashion, because people avoid them like the plague! :furious:

I'm taking in school driving this school year, which will only take a few weeks before I can take my test(at the school).. so hopefully I'll have my lisence by at least this November!

this has nothing to do with this except for october 18th im gonna b at the airport on my way to wdw =D

I got my license over a year ago and the most important thing is to try your best to stay calm! For some people, that is the most difficult challenge. When you are actually driving with the state cop, you tend to ease up. Anticipation is most everything.

Just make sure you take lots of time to practice at home and practice doing everything. The officer I had just made me back up in a straight line 50ft, do a three point turn, and park the car. It was pretty sweet. ;) But you never know what they will have you do. (My driver ed teacher knew the officer however, and knew what she was going to ask of me. :goodvibes lol)
