October 17, 2009 Western

I had a productive week/weekend, but still lots to do. Got my FE, embroidered pillowcases to sign, shoe holder, and little things here and there that I know I'll forget unless I buy them now...
We even went on a little hike today to a nearby lake...I watched the kids closely to see how they'll do when we walk around at the Ports...:goodvibes

That does sound really productive!

I'm hoping to start packing this week too! (Have already started going through clothes for the Little Miss - going shopping tomorrow - hopefully buy some things from the Disney Store!)

Happy 25th Birthday, Steve! :cake: Disney birthdays are the best!!! I've had a few... turned 28 at WDW, 30 at WDW, 32 on DCL & 35 at WDW! Have a magical time!!!

The only thing I did this weekend towards preparing for the cruise was to pick up a couple of pairs of Sea Bands.

In regards to the luggage tags - Do they com via USPS?

39 days!!!! We are under the 40 day mark!!! Next thing you know, it will be just 30 days...:wizard:

No. The DCL tags come via UPS with the cruise docs. WDW tags cone USPS. Steve happy Birthday. I had mine this year on DCL on my way to St. Croix.

Shucks, I was afraid you might say that. We have an unfortunate situation with UPS/Fedex in my building. Sometimes, they will drop the package in the leasing office and not leave you the tracking slip. So, you have no idea you have gotten anything and your package sits in the leasing office gathering dust. It isn't too much fun to be down there checking on it all the time because there is usually a bit of a wait.

Thanks for letting me know, though. I can't wait to find out what my flight informationn is. I guess I have to wait until we are 30 days out in order to find out. I think next time, I will book my own airfare.:sad2:

Thanks all for the responses. I may just wait until we get to port and see what the family feels like doing.

Regards,
Pete

I used to pre-plan our cruise activities months in advance but since we switched to cruising off-season, it hasn't been necessary. Except for Palo reservations, I just don't sweat it. The only exception to this is that I might want to do a cooking class with Josephine, and that does require reservations in advance.

Ugh... I got nothing done this weekend for the cruise. Only 5 more weekends at home until our cruise!!!!!

Monica - Do you know the maximum thread size, we seem to be getting up there is page count.

Laura

I don't know, Laura, but I have noticed a few threads with over 3,500 posts. I think we're safe.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If it helps, the DCL stuff usaly arives about two weeks before sailing. I always do my own airfare, alright since I fly for free it only makes sence right? For the Transatlantic next year I am leting DCL handle my airfare as I have never been to Barcalona and I have no clue how it will work when we get there so I rather have them handle everything.

UPS? All of my cruise docs and tags and such have always come through the good old fashioned US Mail... straight to my mailbox...:confused3

Our ME passes and bag tags came today for AKL. Now just need an upgrade (I can hope!) and cruise docs.

It really depends on how you booked. If you made your cruise reservation with DCL, they will ship your docs/luggage tags via UPS, no signature required. If you booked with Dreams Unlimited, your docs will also be sent direct from DCL via UPS. If you booked with (nearly) any other travel agency, DCL sends your docs to your TA and then your TA will forward them on to you using the shipping method of their choice.

Is there anyone here not buying the insurance for the trip? I haven't bought the insurance yet :(

Not entirely true. UPS requires a signature for apartment drop offs and they will not leave it unless you give them writen permision to do so, which means the next day after that first attempt is made. I know this because of this policy I almost had to sue them for witholding my property. Long story, just thought I would share it.
