We didn't think we would like Match Your Mate so we didn't check it out until this last cruise. It was worth going just to watch the newly wed couple that was playing. If I didn't know better, I would have thought theirs was an arranged marriage.

I really love watching this game!

The Newlywed couple on our last cruise were quite funny. I actually had to look away when we'd encounter them later on during our cruise because I'd always start smiling/giggling when I saw them. I didn't want them to think that I was laughing at them because, of course, they had no idea that I saw their show! :rotfl2:

The last time I saw Match Your Mate it was couple that was married like 35 years that were the riot. All I can say is I never want to go on the veranda in what ever room they had on that cruise. I am sure you know what I mean, but I will say this, good for them to still have the "spark."

Man! I wish I would have thought about Match Your Mate last year! My parents were celebrating 50 years of marriage on the cruise! That would have been hysterical! I'm sure my mother would have been looking for something to hit my dad over the head with! :rotfl:

Exciting news for any Florida residents on our sailing - DCL has opened up the Florida resident discount. I'm on the phone with them right now, and changing from the onboard booking discount to the Florida resident discount gives me a refund of $612 on my cat 9. I lose the $200 OBC, but still saving $400 per room. Yippee!

Penny, my in-laws are celebrating their 50th on this cruise (actual anniversary is the day before we leave). It came to mind that they might be picked for Match Your Mate if they were in the audience, but I really can't see them answering "sparky" questions in front of their kids and strangers. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I would want to hear the answers!

Wow! My mom lives in Florida. If I thought the inside room next to the boys' room was available, I know she would be interested. Hmmm, now should I tell her? Do you have to call for the Florida rates or are they online?

I'm glad I didn't see our newly wed couple again on our cruise. The wife, who had a very lumpy figure, was wearing a rather ill-fitting short, tight (you could distinguish her belly rolls) dress that she spent a lot of time adjusting. I was embarrassed for her, but who am I to judge being of the " dowdy frocks and Crocs" category myself.

I called to make the change, but it looks like you can use a code to get the pricing online for a new booking. It was $699pp for a cat 9, which is fantastic.

FLR is the code.. Wow.. that is the same price we have for our CAT 12. Hmm couldn't make Arizona seem like Florida.

My dad & his girlfriend live in Florida, so we did a little room reorganizing (on paper) so both of our rooms could get the discount. We have one other room traveling with us, but there is no way to take advantage of it for them.

DD7 got her pirate outfit. She is excited. I must say she looks pretty cute, but then again I am a bit biased. I was in a pirate store in Seattle on Monday, but couldn't bring myself to spend the money on T-Shirts for DH and myself. Might just need to settle on the bandana on the head. I will not wear a costume.

It is geting so close.

Angie - Have you tried to print the graphic you made (post 725) of the DIScovering Magic? I was wondering if I tried to print it 8x10 or 5x7 would it be good quality?

I haven't tried... I'm guessing it wouldn't be good though since the original graphic I used was so small. :(

Awesome, April! I'm envious!!! I keep telling DH that I want to buy a small condo in FL so I can take advantage of some of these FL discounts. :lmao:

Laura,

Where did you find the outfit for DD? I was wondering if mine would want one - so far we saw a pink t-shirt in a catalog that she said she would wear, but not sure if she'd do the outfit.

The time is going sooo fast now:banana: I haven't been on much lately - just got more work on top of the work I can't get to when someone quit the company. Did manage to take the kids to the Jersey shore for 4 days last week for DH's 40th b-day & DD's 7th - It's kind of weird when your kids don't remember ever going to the shore (cause they haven't since DD was about 2), but remember their trips to Disney!! Seems so backwards since most kids around here know the shore but haven't been to Disney.

I really have to find time to get on here at night - I know I have ?'s still, but they're probably answered in these threads. Thanks for the post w/ the Navigators - that's very helpful!

Still have to book the hotel the night before & a car service Sat morning. I've been watching for the Hyatt on Hotwire, but I think I'm gonna give up & just do AAA rate. I don't like this feeling of not having everything booked & ready to go!

I did see the info about the meets, but not sure yet of our plans. Is anyone going to the pools when they get on? We're planning to get to the port at 10, so we were thinking of letting the kids go swimming, then to the room around 2:30 or so to shower them & get us dressed for the drill, sailaway & dinner. I wasn't sure if anyone did the pools though that day.

Hi Kathy
I'm hoping to get to the Port early too so we can board by noon or 1pm. Plan on having my DH take the kids to the pool while I do last minute ressies at Guest Services and Rockin D Bar.
Then I will join the group at 3pm, the drill at 4:30...and away we go!

Kim

Kim & Laura,

I think I will be doing the same. I will send DH and kids to the swimming pool after we had lunch while I take care of PALO brunch or high tea ressie I couldn't do it online.

It's getting so close.. I can hardly wait to be on the ship!!!:woohoo:

Kathy - I got it from buycostume.com online. I have a 15% code at home if you want it. Her cousin had one from her pervious cruise, but unfortunately DD is such a girly girl and wanted a skirt vs pants. I know partycity is starting to get their costume in now, if you have one located near you. Luckly she can use this for the MNSSHP before the cruise and then again for Halloween at home.

We plan to be at the port close to 10am. DD will be wearing her suit so that after lunch she can go to the pool, until our room is ready. She is very interested in the slide. I plan to be at the DIS meet at 3pm
