Hi all
I feel so bad for not being on here more but the start of the new session is always busy. Welcome to all the new cruisers.
I managed to book the Wishes dessert party for the sunday before. I love fireworks and tried to book this in the summer without success. Took me several attempts to do it this time - I dont think some of the CM's like dealing with people from the UK as they kept cutting me off!! However I've got it booked.
Also booked a few of the wine/food demos for the Food and Wine Festival - cant wait to watch Todd English. Mum and I did several of them when they were free but I hate dragging her over to queue and not get in. So this way I know we will get in - and as she will be driving I get most of the wine - oops!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Would love to do the Whishes party, but I am at 'Ohana that night and since it is all I can eat there I would be stuffed. I am also on a budget. I am only doing one big meal a day, then like a burger or something for the other meal.

I always miss the cruise chat. I wish they did it earlier or later on Friday nights. 9pm EDT is way too early for me. DD is in her hip hop class.

Any good happening in the chat?

I don't think you're missing anything. It's hard to have a conversation of any depth. It's like being at a party where you don't really know anyone so you make small talk for the most part. What makes it interesting sometimes is that unlike a party where people don't have the safety of anonymity so they tend to be polite and careful, as usual with online discussions, things get a little spicy. A few weeks ago, person A told a joke, person B took offense and said person A would make a good Nazi. Person C took offense that anyone would bring up the Nazis, and suddenly the room was like a virtual bar fight with people taking sides or taking cover.

Last night was okay. We actually did talk about cruising - the usual topics - how many, which ones, other cruiselines, how not to gain wait on the cruise, is DCL crazy with their prices. Just the same topics you see on the board. Some people weren't there to talk about cruises at all but none of those people tried to hijack the room to talk about the parks or anything. That happens sometimes.

WENDYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! Where have you been all this time??? We have been missing you! Let us know how you are doing when you get time! We will see you soon! :hippie:

Can you believe how fast the time has flown by?? It seems surreal that we are creeping up on the 30day mark!!! I have a pile of clothes to pack... I bet I don't wear half of them!! Oh well. Such is the joy of cruise prep! It just makes me feel more excited!

Anyone interested in a brisk walk (or not so brisk, depends on the night before :goodvibes ) around the ship a few mornings while we are there?
Don't know what time I'll be up and looking to do this, maybe we could see who's game during our 3pm meet on Sat?

Happy 10th Anniversary!!! :bride: :groom:

Thanks! We celebrated it for 2 days - dinner out w/ the kids Fri night & then left them at the grandparents on Sat to go out for a bit & get dinner alone. We don't do that very often - usually w/ them if we're not working, but it's so nice once in a while!

The H20 stuff sounds good - I did use it at the Poly the other year & did like it, so I'll just plan on that for me. Another thing I don't have to pack!

Just got off the phone with Disney! I booked the Wishes Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom for the night before our cruise - Friday, 10/16! party:

Here's a review:

Anyone interested in joining us?

We also booked the Wishes Dessert Party for 10/16! We booked the first day they extended it into October and got an 8:00 arrival time. Friday, 10/16 is our one parks day before the cruise, and I was closely watching for weeks to see when they were going to extend the Wishes Dessert Party past August since we had only one option. This should be a great way to get our taste buds ready for the cruise. Looking forward to seeing you there!

You should have a good time. Disney always knows how to do a dessert party. I can't remember being at one at WDW, but we have done the DL Fantasmic Dessert seating multiple times.

Enjoy!

I have no idea what time I will be up and about once on the cruise. I am generally a super-early riser, but of course with the time change, who knows? I am planning on morning walks and workouts in the gym also. If schedules allow, maybe we can burn up some desserts together.

Speaking of which, I did a dry run with my outfits this weekend and found out that one of the dresses I was intending to wear no longer zips up.:scared1: I must get really serious now with my least favorite 4-letter word (DIET). We are getting down to the wire!

Awhhh - thank you! Sorry, even my family dont see much of me at the moment! Just snowed under with school work and my masters. It should all be finished by the cruise - well fingers crossed.

I'm definitely up for that. Not sure if I mentioned it on this thread, but I'll be doing the NYC marathon on November 1st. (exactly a week and a day after I get off the ship!) My hardcore training will be officially over by then, but I will need to stay limber so I'll be walking the decks each and every day. The biggest downside is that I won't be able to go crazy with food and drink and that's a bummer!

Jeanne,
It is only posted in the Navigator. I saw a thread about it on here awhile back, then saw it listed on the western navigator thread that someone posted around June or July. It's apparently held every time there is a ship at CC... Find that Western Navigator thread and look for the Friday one.. I can't remember what it says other than I think it starts at 8am. It's a down and back thing and there were pictures posted in the 5k thread.

Thanks Angie for posting the blog, that's where the individual posted the pics. I had gone hunting for it, but hadn't posted it yet! It looks like fun, but I'm out of shape from the surgery, so I'm putting it on my list of things to do next year!

Speaking of next year... have you decided which cruise you'll take in 2010, Penny? I think we're going to need to cancel our Transatlantic :sad1: so we're considering either the 10-23-10 Eastern or the Wonder's Panamal Canal cruise later that Winter.
