Oh, I'm well-behaved, too. I'm not even that vocal, but DH can get a little over-excited (in a nice way - he's not a face painter, but he did make me send DS to school today in an Astros uniform). He was VERY concerned about whether he was going to be able to watch the games on the ship. I have assured him he will. I hope I wasn't lying. He's upset enough that he may miss the opportunity to attend games in person.

Tell him not to worry! We were able to watch the world series last year on an ESPN satellite station in Diversions, the Promenade Lounge, and in our stateroom (where we hung our heads in shame and briefly thought about throwing ourselves overboard). We shouldn't have any problems picking up the Championship series.

I'm bringing binoculars!!!! :rotfl2: Or...by the sounds of it, I won't need them. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Brenda…i am looking forward in bringing back a bottle or two of Guavaberry Liqueur - ~$16 per ltr. I’ve heard it’s awesome!!!!
Tasters are available on Saint Marten at the Guavaberry Emporium…8-10 Frontstreet

(from a cruise brochure a friend offered me)…”Guavabery is the legendary Island Folk Liqueur of Sint Maarten, an essential and cherished feature of local culture and tradition. It is still makd on Frontstreet at the aged Guavaberry Emporium…old island hospitality, a destination in itself, rows of exotic liqueurs, painted boutique rums, local gragrances, GB Cigars, logo-wear…the Guavaberry Hot Sauce Collection, the sublime Guavaberry Colada, invented here, free tasting daily…the best of old Sint Maartin…”

Nanc….(from the same brochure)….”Last Mango in Paradise – St Maarten…The largest selection of Jimmy Buffett CD’s, books, videos and Caribbean Soul T-Shirts in the Caribbean…A bad day at the BEACH…still beats a good day at WORK” - 17 Front Street

In just 26 hours…i’ll be a blur running out of this office – ready to start my vacation…I CAN’T WAIT!!!!

thanks for the added information on the fabled guavaberry, Kevin! I'm looking forward to trying it, but I think I'll wait until after we get back from our 12-metre regatta....no need to be queasy while yachting!

I'm right with you on that vacation countdown. Even though we don't leave for Florida until next Thursday my vacation starts as soon as I leave here tomorrow afternoon.

OK - must go back to work and try to be productive...I think I can...I think I can...I think I can (but I don't want to!). :rotfl2:

Brenda

PS. 10 more post-season wins and the Cardinals will be World Champs! Go Cards! :cheer2:

i have read that rum can be purchased very cheap in the carribean, with st. martin cheaper than st. thomas...anyone hear this too? Since we will not be cruisin' until 2007 again i want to stock up...i also saw somewhere another kind of rum at the st. martin cruise dock that has a bottle that looks like a jamaican man...looks interesting...people say the liquor prices get cheaper the farther away from the dock you are...anyone know this to be true? and how much alcohol can i bring back to the US? i realize i have to pay taxes but is there a limit to how many bottles i can bring back?

(by the way....i do not have a drinking problem...just have a problem with not enough drinking yet! i just have drinks on the brain! :rotfl: )

Palo question....so if Kristoff was so good and if he is still on the magic...can we request him when we get there or do we need to request in advance? I want the full enjoyment from Palo for me and my hubby!

we leave a week from today and i am counting down every minute of it...i think i will not work all that i am supposed to next week due to all the trip stress! :goodvibes

:cheer2: :cheer2: one week to go! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I plan on asking for him at brunch and dinner if he is still working at Palo - he was that good to us. :goodvibes

For afternoon tea they all kind of pitch in simultaneously since it only lasts an hour.

Don't have an answer about the alcohol limit, although I'm sure there is one. I'm thinking about having some shipped - we might purchase a bottle or two in person and if we really like it I'm going to see if they'll ship the rest. It would be easier, don't you think?

Brenda... who really is going to work now... :p

PS - I'm sad that I don't get to attend any playoff games in person this fall...but happy that I get to cruise with you fine folks and my wonderful hubby!! :goodvibes

GO CARDS! :cheer2:

hitomi,

My friend at work is having the same problem with her daughter...Non stop coughing day and night. They finally found something that worked!!
A combo of Benedryl(antihistamine) and a cough suppressant with the DM in it.
Normal dosage of both for your son's weight! :goodvibes Worked like a charm!
Hope he feels better soon...Atleast it is this week and not next.

How long of a flight do you have and when do you leave to head this way???

I am having the worst time concentrating on work!!! :cloud9: :cloud9:

Michelle,
Thanks for your advice :) Our doctor gave him some medicine...but they haven't work well yet.

We'll leave here next friday...takes about 15hours .we'll fly to orlando via DTW.
It's first time for my son to take flight over 10hours.I hope he will enjoy the movies and get sleep in a plane.

Hi guys...I still haven't fixed my picture yet....too frustrating!! :confused3 Think I will finally cave and ask my DH for help over the weekend! I got the rolling eyes thing last evening when I pulled out our tag bags and mardi gras beads. My kids has a blast putting the bags together for me yesterday. I had ordered something special to put in them which finally arrived in the mail yesterday along with our beads! Thank goodness!!! I was afraid it wasn't going to make it in time. BUt now everything is done! tag bags...packing, etc etc. NOW WHAT WILL I DO??? Just go nuts counting down the minutes!!! We don't leave till next Friday am.

Hi everyone!!! :sunny: Welcome to the newbies!!!

hitomi, I hope your little boy gets better, soon! At least he is sick this week and not next week!!! Now, if you could only get some sleep!!! :goodvibes

Michelle, that's a cute picture of Josie! Funny story about the bangs. Was she trying to get a new style for the cruise? :rotfl:

For those of you leaving soon, have a safe trip!!! :moped: I'm leaving on a jet plane tomorrow...too bad it's heading north and not to Orlando!!!

So, the meet is scheduled for Sunday, 1pm, on deck 10, where one can get coffee and alcohol. I'll be looking for the mardi gras beads. By the way, I'll be bringing my kids. Hopefully, they can meet others the same age. Might make the clubs a little more fun.

Did we decide on a meet later in the week? Like Thursday evening?

you did it!!!!

woop woop!

DIStag meet as well as anyone else....we will meet Thursday 1pm on deck 10

I will bring my kids too (unless they will not leave the clubs!)....

for those of you with coughing kids....try putting them in a very steamy bathroom and cupping your hand tap firmly on their back...this helps loosen things up...also put your ear next to their upper back and listen when they take a breath in and out several times....if you hear wheezing, get more meds from your doctor such as an albuterol inhaler!

whoop there it is... whoop there it is!

Party on party people let me hear some noise DC’s in the house jump jump rejoice
Says there’s a party over here a party over there
Wave your hands in the air, shake your derrière
These three words when you’re getting busy
Whoomp There it is hit me

by the way...for those of you taking digital pictures (esp of schlong man for your scrapbook :rotfl: ) our walmart just put in a new kiosk where you can put your memory card in just like normal to order pics but it you can pay only $0.15 per picture if you are willing to wait 2 days for your printed pics! I just emptied my memory card of about 300pics and doing it this way saved me about $12...plus i just paid Walmart $3 and got all my pics on disk as wellas the reference pics cards that listed all pics on the disc....all their discs com ein a small folder that can be added to any cd booklet to keep them organized....i just like the idea of a reference pic that easily shows what pics are on each disc as well as their pic# for easy finding in the future...i just thought i would let you know...

also...Sam's Club has the cheapest memory cards i have seen...a 1GB memory card/stick, which holds about 1000 pics is only $73 so click away! I took alot of pics last trip that did not come out so i am excited about using the digital this time so i can make sure i get the right shot! :wizard:
