October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Check again........I just checked before grtting on the DIS and the one for Wednesday at 8:00 pm is still open. I want you to get this girl!!!!!!

:headache:
Arrgh!!!! I can't seem to nab one. Every time I go there it says there aren't any reservations left at Palo's. I tried refreshing the page every now and then but it doesn't help.

I am confident I can get one at "Rock-N-Bar D" because I plan on bribing someone if I have to.:rotfl2:

Got a question: So I see people leave their luggage the night before disembarking outside their staterooms. Do you guys put a lock on your luggage? Just curious...:

This will be our 5th disney cruise....never had a problem with items missing from room or our luggage (maybe I'm assumeing this is your fear). Yes...guess it could happen on any hotel...air or cruise line. I do remember that Guest Services offered some 2 inch loc-ties (i think that's the name) the day/night luggage needed to be put out. if you have some concerns - you might want to purchase a small bag of those...or locks that are TSA approved. Guess...and I hate to say it...if someone wants in - bad enough...there going to get in.

and Bevtoy, I'm sending you good vibes:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes that you get Palo rezzies on your anniversary!...:
com-on every body...pass some pixe dust to Bev...pixiedust:

let's see what we have for today's photo....hmmmmmm - no guessing needed for this one...well...ok...what is this a photo of???? and...you are welcome to send me any/all ingredients. LOL....

I was just at The Disney Cruise Line website at 4:10pm this afternoon, and there is still a Palo's Dinner Reservation open. Of course I am checking here at work and the internet speed is great. If you are unable to get one now can you call Disney Cruise Line and book a Palo Dinner Reservation? I don't know. Hope you can.

I have a broadband connection which is fairly fast. Truly I am confident I can get a reservation when we board the ship. I intend to be on the boat as early as possible. I have seen several posts on the board and they all say that Palo's holds reservations in reserve for boarding passengers.

Hey Kevin, I think I got this one. That is the Jumbo Tron.....(big TV) with the drink of the day pictured on it!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2     :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:   ::thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :
And the Drink of the day is a Cherry Coke on ice in a glass, with a straw and a lemon wedge on the lip of the glass!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :    :

If it ain't got some alcohol in it, it ain't the drink of the day! That looks like maybe a Planters Punch? Or maybe a Rum Runner? The only other one I remember is the Yellowbird (which I didn't care for), which that one obviously isn't...

Jason.

I got this in an email today. Thought you guys would appreciate it.

IT'S SO HOT...

.....the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the
ground.
.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.
.....the best parking place is determined by shade, instead
of distance.
.....hot water now comes out of both taps.
.....you can make sun tea instantly.
.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good
branding iron.
.....the temperature drops below 95 F (35 C), and you feel a
little chilly.
.....you discover that in August it only takes 2 fingers to
steer your car.
.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your
car window.
.....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
.....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at
7:30 a.m.
.....your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked
out, and end up lying on the pavement and cook to
death?"
.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
.....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is
pull one out and add butter.
.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.
.....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep
them from laying boiled eggs.

*STAY COOL!*

Disney made Post Secrets today. Someones mailed in this card and made me think it could be used if altered for a good cruise magnet by substituting the words Disney Cruise.
The site is adult in nature so I wouldn't go there with a child peering over your shoulder.

Hello all fellow Oct 13th Eastern cruisers! I am new to DISBoards so please forgive me if I'm a bit of a "newbie". We have quite a crew boarding on the most magical of days....October 13th, 2007! It will be my DW, DD1(5yrs), DD2 (3yrs), inlaws-AKA grandma & grandpa, three sisters in-law and their husbands and one niece (3) and nephew (2) for a grand total of 14!!! I have been scouring the DIS for helpful hints and tips for our upcoming trip and it has been so helpful. The boards were so helpful and friendly I decided to sign up and get posting.

To TIGER LILY 03-Congrats on the Half Marathon, truly awesome! I have a relative that has done the "goofy" twice and is signed up again this year to go at it. I have been training and racing triathlons this past year and have completed three sprints and one Olympic distance at NYC (swim in the Hudson!!EKKK) and I'll also be doing the Disney half marathon this year as a warmup for a Half Ironman in 2008. Can anybody say trip back to disney in the spring to do the disney tri? I can but I don't think DW would be so thrilled with the idea.....

General question: Has anyone actually swam laps in the adult pool for excersise or is it generally too crowded for that sort of thing? I plan on getting in some kind of fitness work during my cruise as I know what can happen when my stomoch has an endless supply of food.....

Welcome!!!!! Early in the am, 7 or so, there may be 3 people paddling around. If it is warm enough I am one of them :thumbsup2 . I don't think the pool is very long for serious swimmers but it is fun.

Kudos to Davidls - but...excuse me for one small correction...those that cruised directly after the Magic's dry dock in 2005...nicknamed the new screen 'THE DUMBO-TRON'.

IT'S SO HOT...

I hear ya...we (Phoenix) are about to break a heat record. so far..27 days in August of 100 degrees or hotter. Tomorrow will tie the record...and we sitll have time to crush it. Frankly...this is a record I did'nt want to be a part of.

Have another to add to your 'It's So Hot....list.

....When you come to a 4 way stop...the person without air conditioning has the right of way.
....Cars with black interior/exterior are and easy give away...they are from out of state.

Stay Cool....I know I'm trying --- Kevin

Hello -

We just booked on this cruise. I'm happy to see we will be joined by so many others that are looking forward to what I'm sure will be a fabulous trip. I have cruised before, but never on Disney. Travelling with my DH ( cruised one other time), DD ( 5 ) and DD ( 3 ) - this will be their first cruise but they have visited Disney Land 3 times. We are from Phoenix - looks like I see at least one other family from Phoenix - Is there a roll call anywhere? I will try and get through all these posts in the next couple of days. In the meantime - Glad to be here and counting down the days with the rest of you!

Roll Call......Nevada City, California.
Welcome to all newbies! Excitement is definently growing:banana: Less than two months to go! Honey and kids are already packing:rotfl: Every night on the DIS Boards:woohoo:

It looks like there will be quite a few DD 5 year olds on this cruise which is great! My girls are so ready to get back to mickeyville that we have almost worn out our cruise DVD.

Has anyone dealt with a child getting sea sick on one of these trips? On our last trip to WDW our little one (DD-3) got sick in every park, including an episode in Norway (EPCOT) that cleared out the entire shopping area....it wasn't pretty. She is a tough customer and was still able to handle to whole trip with a smile despite the rumbly tumbly. DW is a flight attendant and DD-5 is DW's clone so I don't either one of them will have a problem. On our last flight back into Newark we had really rough turbulence and DD-5 was whooping and hollering like we were on the teacups....if any of you were on that flight I must apologize....that's my girl!

Welcome New Cruisapaloozans!!!

DH is still calling me a cruise nerd:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Can't believe August is almost over and once Sept. is here, we'll be saying "NEXT month...":cool1: :cool1:

Hope everyone is doing well and having fun being a cruise nerd like moi!

Hello folks...we have just changed our 4 night cruise to this cruise...This will be our 8th Disney Cruise, Keith (45) Tina (42) and Josh (6). This will only be Josh's 7th Disney Cruise, he was just a twinkle in my wife's eye on the first:rotfl2: :rotfl2: We sailed with our 2 older daughters, (14) & (12) at the time. We did a 4 day on the first cruise, but since, we have only been on 7 or 11 day Disney Cruises...We had booked the 4 day because Josh started first grade this year and we had the 15 night Panama Canal crossing booked as well and we could only get him out of school for 2 days. The School had given us permission for him to miss the last 2 weeks of school for that trip, but with a change in my business, we had to cancel the 15 day. :headache:  Plus Josh has a fall break Oct. 15th & 16th. So he will only miss 3 days instead of 17 days...OK, who has keep up? :scared1:  My wife and I are renewing our 10 year ann. wedding vows on Castaway Cay on Friday...so If the ships rocking on Fri. - IT WASN"T ME!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

So Keith, are we all invited to the vow renewal?:cool1:

Welcome to all the new cruisers, glad to see you joining us.

Just my little attempt at humor.:rolleyes1 (You sure it ain't Tomato Juice in that thar glass!!! Orrrrrrrrrrrr, maybe a V-8!!!!)

Want to say hi and welcome to all our new cruisers joining us on our little outing in October. It's going to be great!!!

Kevin, I think you get the prize on the location with the hottest temp!!! It's been kinda hot down here in Sunny Florida too:cool2: , but nothing like what you are having. :scared1: The fall months down here is the south are usually great.:cool1: It's still plenty warm, but the humidity has dropped way off.
