So a friend and I were just fantasizing about our next cruise and decided we would have a bar tender make a Mickey Bar Shake, anyone try that before

Decided to go ahead and book our hotel for the night before the cruise. We (myself, DD, & Aunt) will be staying at the Radisson at the Port using their Park & Cruise package. Anyone else already made hotel ressies for the night before?

We are staying in disney the day we come back from the cruise. We're going to try and get an early flight so that we are still there for early check in to the ship. Probably going to use a car service so we can pick up some lovely beverages before we board( if you know what I'm talking about). ;-)

The current plan is that we are spending two nights at WDW (probably Old Key West), and then a night at the Courtyard Cocoa Beach prior to the cruise. We have a tradition that we always get up real early on departure day and go down to welcome our ship in that morning. At Port Canaveral, we always end up down by Freddy Patrick Park. We love seeing the ship silently glide down the channel, with all the excitment of knowing, that in just a few short hours, the ship will be ours!!

We are staying at a days inn and I couldn't ask for a better deal we are staying in cocoa beach and we are only a few miles if that from port and we found a shuttle that is round trip from the airport to the hotel ( I think it's called royal shuttle but I am not sure) can't book until we have the flights all set though so boo

We will be staying at Ron Jon Caribe Resort, looks like a cool water park! We get there Friday 10-11-13 in the am. They say we can park there for free while on the cruise and they have a shuttle to the Port. So excited!

Hi Fellow Cruisers!!! Just thought I would post a picture of my DD (Rachel) and myself (Tammy) (I'm on the right...she took after her dad for her height) so everyone could get to "know" us. It's always nice to put a face with a name, especially when you see each other somewhere on the cruise. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

No! Don't delete it! I think this is just a seriously quiet group! I think there are only like 10 active people on the dis and 30 on the FB page, with about 10-15 (Maybe) active!

I was just kidding, I'm not going to delete it. You are right in that this group is really quiet. For my cruise in 2011, I could hardly keep up with the posts each day, and that started a year before the cruise. As it got closer, it was even more active. I hope that people get a little more active as we get even closer. I may not post every day, but I do at least check the thread every day. I also joined the FB group, and I have posted there a few times, but I really enjoy the DIS much more, for some reason, even though I also get on FB every day. My Aunt who is cruising with us posted a couple of times and introduced herself, but she hasn't posted again since. I'm gonna need to have a talk with her because I know she gets on her computer just about every day.

My initial point in posting the picture is to encourage others to do the same so that we can "see" what everyone looks like and be able to recognize fellow DISers once we are onboard.

Hope to "see" ya'll soon here on the DIS.

I don't get notifications from the DIS. I have the thread saved in my favorites and check it every day to see there are new posts. I also go onto my FB page every day and get notifications there, but I don't get immediate notifications on my phone. I check each (DIS & FB) every morning and evening. I am just used to a more active group from my other two cruises. Even our FB page for this cruise is not super active.

You can get notifications from DIS if you want. You can subscribe to a specific thread. Of course I can't remember exactly how to do it, now that I was going to try to tell you! I know there are some options up near the top right of your screen, and one is something like "subscribe to thread" and you can be notified immediately, every day, or every week, I think. I'm subscribed to this one, as well as my May 2014 cruise. I just get daily notification though. I still find FB much easier to use and navigate though. I'm trying to check both...but have to say I prefer FB.

I'll add a picture though, if I can remember how! This is from pirate night on our 5 night Dream cruise last summer. We LOVE pirate night!

Hi Everyone...my name is Jeana! This will be our 2nd DC!!! I've been on 3 total, all different cruise lines now and DCL is by far my Fav! Our first DC was on the Magic! Loved Loved Loved it so much, So I can't wait to be on the FANTASY!
Will be sailing with my DH, DS(14), DD(9), and DS(4) and are in SR 7102! I'm really excited about the FE and trying to learn about those and how to get on the list.
