Goodnight everyone!!!! I'll just be here........all alone............................by myself....................boy, being 3 hours behind you all is a bummer!!:sad2:

Evenin' Ya'll!

We had horrendous wind last night. So much so, that the roof DID blow off our house! We have abour 2 dozen shingles missing. I have been calling contractors, but just being able to leave messages. Our deductible is $500, and I am really thinking it will be less then that.
Sending Pixie Dust to Hope! GET BETTER SOON!

Time for dinner.....

Yeah that stinks but at least its warmer than here, nighty night!!!

Good morning all!

Heck yeah, I watched Lost, it's the only show I've been excited for all season!!!! I can't wait for tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mileys real name is actually Destiny Hope, well it was until she legally changed it on Monday.

Speaking of Miley, that is my only plan for the weekend, we are seeing the Hannah movie on Saturday. We don't do anything for the superbowl except maybe order a pizza. I personally can't stand football LOL.

I am ready for some sunshine:sunny: It is cold here this morning with snow and sleet yeah! It suppose to be getting colder today and with wind gust in the forty's Yikes we are going to have to curl up with a good book today!

OK, here come some first-timer questions:

1. The Disney FAQs state that you must bring all medicines in prescription bottles, is this true? We use weekly containers because all the containers would require a bag for themselves! Plan on bringing a list of all meds/dosages. Also, my DD6 (will be 6 tomorrow!) takes 3 liquid meds 2Xday that we usually just make up ahead of time in syringes (non-needle) when on vacation.

2. The liquid meds must be kept cool. We asked about a fridge for the stateroom, but Disney claims the cool box already in the room will do. Is it cool enough? Asking permission to bring a soft cooler with us as well.

3. Is the fitness center (treadmills, etc.) included or an extra cost? If I'm going to be EATING, I better be running as well!

4. Best excursions for a family with young kids? DD4, DD6, DD12

Stay tuned for more Qs!

Renee

Yeah! My TA finally talked to the right person at DCL to answer my first two questions. Yes, you need prescription bottles, bummer.

But...we were able to snag a fridge in the stateroom for DD6's meds.

ALSO, finally switched to early dining after being on late. So...The Gannon clan may be joining several of you on the PLA rotation, if we can get it! Kristin, I guess I need to e-mail you about this?

Alex and Michelle,

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. You all must be so excited.

Sorry to hear about your accident though, I'm sure the pain melts away when you look at your new baby girl though!!!

I hope that mommy and baby are both doing well,
:goodvibes

Gina

Have you finalized your flights yet? Flying from Toronto or Buffalo.. Were all leaving Pearson on the friday morning.
I was in your neck of the woods this morning Bayley and Westney... Sounds like were going to get smack with snow tomorrow. Pull out the shovels again.

Hi there Renee,

We were on the ship last fall. I found the frigs in the room not very cold. Cool if anything.
There is no additional cost for the gym. I will be honest with you. I brought all my running gear with me having full intentions of running everyday. The first morning I got out of bed, looked at my running stuff, and after the huge meals I had the day before. Said the hell with this and I didn't run once. (I felt extremely guilty, at least until the next meal). I paid for it dearly when I came home and had to get back into my routine.
Our DD will also be 12 at the time of cruising. She loved the Oceanquest program on the ship. Hopefully the'll meet up. Another family travelling with us has a DS of 11.

Alex

As for your prescription medications, simply call your pharmacy and tell them you are going on vacation and would like to have extra pill bottles so you only have to take a weeks worth with you. (or you can ask for this as you get your refill the month before the trip) They should print off extra lables and attach them to the bottles...at no extra charge! Then you will have enough for your trip and "if" on the off chance they get lost, you will only loose a weeks worth, not the entire months worth! We usually pack a day or 2 extra of medicine you just can't live without. That way, if there are travel delays, you'll still be okay. (like none of my meds are life threatening, so I'll just take a weeks worth, Steve, on the other hand, can't go a day or 2 without, so he'll pack a few extras just in case)

It's nice to hear that DU offers a gift, I think that's a nice gesture, so I won't hassle them....although, a margarita party would be nice too!

We are new new new to the whole cruise vacation thing and need advise. Have heard people mention online credits...what is this? Should we book through a travel agent and not the cruiseline? Can anyone recommend a good travel agent that can get us online credits? I will be on here a lot soaking up everyones knowledge - hope to premeet alot of fellow travelers and maybe we can meet on the cruise. It will be my husband, myself and our little boy who will be 7 at cruise time. Look forward to saying hi and getting alot of great advise!:goodvibes

WELCOME KHRYSTAH!! Love the way you spell your name! Kristin will be on later and I am sure she can email you the number to her travel agent. Although we have not booked through her, she sounds wonderful! When you book through an agent, they tend to give incentives for using them...onboard ship credits seem to be the most popular thing to give. We received on board credits (OBC) for re-booking through Disney while on board, then additional OBC when we switched our ressie to Dreams Unlimited....this site's cruise sponsor. I do know that this cruise is selling out fast, so don't wait too long to make your booking! Can't wait to get to know you better!

Khrystah... :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: WELCOME WELCOME :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I "ditto" Michele's post. Act quickly and hook up with either DU or Kristin's TA.

Welcome Khrystah,

There is so many ways to book. We booked through our gold Visa card because of travel reward point we could use. I know a number of people have booked with Kristin's agent and all have great things to say about her. Book where you feel comfortable and get the best deal. Most importantly, just book. DCL will be tthe best holiday your family will ever have.
This is our second cruise and the disboards folks were great in answering alot of our questions. Which made a big difference in our whole vacation. Feel free to ask away. I'm sure someone here will have the answer.

Can anyone tell me what kind of night activities they have on board???

If they offer a babysitting service at night so the parents can have some fun???

If they offer tours of the boat for the kids and parents???

Recommend excursions???

Thank you again!
