I got the list, thanks Allen, it looks great. Thanks for your hard work. My dh works at YYZ (Toronto) apparently YYC is Calgary. Sorry, I must have put down the wrong airport.

Looks like we are going to have a big group!!:cool1:

Its been a busy weekend, so today I am catching up on laundry and paperwork for a charity I am on a board for. It is a non profit organization called The Breakfast with Santa Foundation, another Dis'er is the Co-ordinator for it. We provide a hot breakfast, entertainment, and Santa visits and give each child a gift, it is for underprivilaged children in our area. The events are later this month and the beginning of Dec. I am really looking forward to it.

Anyhoo,I decided to break down and get the Wii for my ds for Christmas. He will be thrilled.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend.

:goodvibes

HI all just checkin in today..

Today is actually a pretty nice day today. Now Hope has a cough so we have decided to stay home and have a pj day alll day. We are beat from yesterday.....

I have not checked for any airfare yet either. However, we have decided to stay at SSR the Thur and Fri before the cruise, as well as the Sat after the cruise. We will travel home on Sunday. The kids will be missing only 5 1/2 days of school. So, we thought, why not extend the trip some? This will be our first stay at our DVC home resort and we will need a 2 BR for the first time, since we will be 2 adults, and 4 kiddos on that trip. Pretty nice for our newborn's first trip to Disney...A 7 night cruise and DVC accommodations at SSR as well!

Kristin...Would you have any room location recommendations for SSR? I had to wait to call back tomorrow to confirm the complete reservation and they said they had plenty of availability...Any ideas would be great! Thanks!:goodvibes

OOOH my gosh I called yesterday and only had about ten minutes before I had to get back to my friends house and was on hold for seven minutes...I was able to make wed. night thru Thurs. They told me I had to call back on Monday for Friday night. Lets plan to get together while we are there. The kids could all play.
If I were you ask for the Grandstand the pool area is great they have a great splash area too. You are going to probally want the two bedroom that is a dedicated too so you only have one entrance otherwise you will have two entrances.
When I told the person I was speaking with that I wanted to make a ressie for Oct. before my cruise he said he just made a ressie for someone else doing the same thing.

You are going to love SSR. Are you going to add the meal plan too??
I am thinking about Sat. after the cruise too but the thing with that is you get off the boat soo very early and then you can not check into the room till after 3 and then you have to be out by 11 the next day not sure I wanted to use the points for that short of a stay though....I guess it will depend what my flights look like. I am hoping I can get AirTran or JetBlue when they release since I have a HUGE credit on JetBlue. If not maybe SW.. I looked at Delta and it is saying $248.00 per person no way that is going to happen.....:scared1: :scared1:

We have been sooooooooooo lazy today. Bruce actually put our Christmas lights up but we are not going to turn them on of course but since it was warm he agreed to get them up early for a change....

Hey All.....

Not been around in awhile but we have had some crazy days lately.....

For the last two weeks it has been a roller coaster ride with our kids....first, our oldest DD23 was in the emergency room for 18 hours with what they thought was appendicitis (turned out to be nothing but she was doubled over in pain). She is following up other doctors but the pain comes and goes....the day after she got out of the emergency room she was on her way to school for her graduate class and was in a car accident on a major highway (95)....a car hydroplaned and spun out of control in front of her and she could not change lanes as cars were on either side of her....she braced for what she knew was coming and slammed into the other car. Thank God she was all right...very shaken but OK....they brought her to another emergency room for chest x-rays as her back and chest hurt (from the airbag)....she is still recovering from neck, back, and arm pain.....we are so grateful that she was wearing her seat belt and that the air bags worked or it would be a totally different scenario. Needless to say the car was totaled so we are in the process of looking for another car....not fun!!!

Then the up part of the roller coaster ride was that our other DD19 was just accepted into a study-abroad program for Fashion Merchanding in London next semester!!! She is so excited, as are we....her crazy mother booked airfare for us to visit her in Feb before I even booked her her airfare as I did not know her term dates yet)....she leaves on January 4th...so much to do...so little time!!!!

We are busy with insurance companies and the study abroad office to get cars and London details sorted out......

So....we are going to London again!!! Then some friends just asked us to join them for a weekend in Miami in Dec but I don't think that will pan out...too much on our plates right now.

Yesterday I was invited by a friend who works for Disney Corporate in NYC to go see a preview screening of the new movie ENCHANTED at the Ziegfeld Theatre. The movie will be released Nov. 21....wow, what a great movie. Anyone with young girls will love it. Not so much for young boys but a very good Disney Family film. Very cute story and Dr. McDreamy is in it as well!!! Can't wait to see it again!!!

Today I started searching airfare for our cruise and most airlines do not have October dates out yet...but Continental is close...just a week away from the dates we need. I put in sample dates for the week before we are to go and got some great rates of $128.00 R/T from EWR to MCO....hope I can snag those airfares when the dates I need are released!!!

Well...I think that is it for now.......I read back a few pages but I think I missed where we have to send our e-mail to get on a list? Anyone care to fill me in...please!!!

Talk to you all soon.....and welcome to the new cruisers that have joined us recently!!!

MJ, what a week you've had!

That is so exciting for your DD to go to London! Congratulations.

OK, Minniesota and PiperG, do either of you want to barf when these guys talk about their airfares??????????? I would kill for $248 per person, and just plain faint if I ever saw $128. I laugh as PiperG and I are happy to have $278 a person!!!

:sad2: Whenever I hear NWA whine about their financial troubles I just roll my eyes. They sure know how to make money when the kids are out of school, huh?

Erika, since we are so close in proximity we will have to get together before the cruise. Will your DD12 still be in that age group at the time of the cruise? When we took a Wonder cruise this MEA, we went with a friend and her DD12. Our son and her daughter got along great and we gave them the run of the ship (i.e. they could go where they want as long as they checked in with us and let us know their plans). The two kids only met once before the trip and had a great time.

Of course, DS would like to hook up with the boys on the cruise as well, but since you are so close I thought this would be fun. We have lots of time to plan a get together if you are interested. PM me and let me know.

Erika and PiperG,

It is too bad that AirTran or JetBlue do not fly out of your area. When we flew in Sept. we flew $59.00 each way per person. That is why I say $248.00 pp. is high for us.....The pain about these airlines is that you have to wait till six months out and have to be right on the ball to get the airfare....LOL!!!!!!!!

Oh my girls are going to love seeing your 12 year old girls they love seeing older girls they will be looking up to them sooooo much.........

That would be cool, probably after the holidays though LOL! My dd will turn 12 in January. I'll have to ask her what she thinks of meeting a boy LOL.

That was my bad....you put YYZ, I got YYC out of it somehow! :confused3 I have corrected it for the next edition.

We do have AirTran, I just flew them last month to Orlando. However, they don't go quite that cheap out of Mpls. Usually $119 or so each way is what they have. But they don't have direct flights in the evening so they wouldn't work for us this trip. No Jet Blue or Southwest here though  .

Ours DD will be 12 in feb. Our last cruise she didn't meet many twelve year olds in her programs. Friends of ours joining us on the cruise will have a DS 11 with them.

:surfweb:

Hi there everyone.

Just got home from spending the weekend with friends (and fellow cruisers that I still have to get on the disboards) down in Niagara Falls for the weekend. We watched the fireworks on the friday night over the alls and all we could all think was, these just aren't the same as the DCLpirate party fireworks. The water is still falling in case anyone was wondering. Good time had by all.
Always enjoy catching up on my post reading after I have been away for a few days.
Have a great work week,,,

Erika,

It seems funny how AirTran can vary so much in prices depending upon where you live...

Michelle,

Sounds like you had a GREAT weekend....

Anyone watching Desperate Housewives tonight???

My dd will be 12 and Sandy's dd will be 13, so they will all be in the same age. They just started e-mailing each other, maybe your dd would like to join in? Torismom's dd will be 10 a the time and she and my dd are already great friends. They could all hang out in Ocean Quest together.

Looks like all the girls will be hanging out together and having a great time!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Haven't booked yet, but seriously considering it. We just got off the 7 night Western Saturday and we're hooked.

How is the weather this time of year? Anyone concerned about hurricanes?

It would be DH, myself, DS (10) and DD (5) .

Of course hurricanes are of concern. However, I enjoy cruising this time of year. The price is right and I know that most likely the worse that will happen is we will just go to different port. Thank God the ship can go around the stroms when we are out to sea. However, I would not think of cruising this time of year without the vacation insurance.

I have been on the ship a total of 31 days all in August / September / or October between 2003 and 2007 and only two days were in rough seas and only one of those was a raining day. All the others days the weather was great. There is always the possibility of rain in the afternoon but it only last miniutes. Sometimes as little as or 5 or 10 other times up to an hours. Then it is gone and you are back to sunny blue skys.

Welcome to our group. I hope you are able to book and join next year. It should be an awesome cruise. Lois
