Hello all!! Just checking in!
WELCOME to all the new families!! How exciting!! I can't wait to meet everyone in person!!
This week is spring break for my boys. I babysat on M,T,W. Yesterday we went to lunch with friends and bought the supplies we needed to make the Mickey Head Spiral Tie Dye T-Shirts. All 4 are resting on the kitchen counter. I HATE the anticipation!! I want to tear into one of them and just "see" if I have done this right! UGH! Did I swirl it tight enough? Did I stitch the Mickey the right way? Did I use too much dye? Not enough? Are the colors going to look stupid together? It's going to kill me! LOL The dye says to let set for 24 hours. Ugh. Tomorrow we are going to Columbus, OH for the day to visit COSI. Center Of Science and Industry. COSI.org It's a wonderful hands on museum and right now they have an Einstein exhibit. Connor is bursting to go and see it. His biography report this year was on Einstein.
That's about it for us!! Just eagerly awaiting our 10 days at Pop Century! I have started to make lists and really need to pull out a suitcase and start dumping stuff into it. It's been so cold here that we haven't worn shorts in a week! Actually, a week and a half now! The boys are bummed saying that this has been more like Christmas Break then Easter Break!
I better see about breakfast and then clean my house some!
Have a MAGICal day! pirate:

Hey! What are we doing on page 3?
Nothing much to say. Just wanted to bump us up .
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Hello all!! back to the top with us!

It's been raining here for 2 days and my backyard is a MUD hole! I am glad I cut grass on Friday. I don't know how long it's going to take to dry out! UGH! They are calling for the rain to change over to snow today and stick to the ground. Originally, the boys were off tomorrow as part of Spring Break, but the school took it back to make up a snow day. I'll be ROFL if they call school on account of snow!
The T-shirts....2 came out AWESOME! One is so-so and mine, well, let's just say, GROSS!! LOL I was shooting for green, yellow and purple. The purple bled with the green and I got some gross poopy color! LOL Everyone agreed that it will be my grass cutting shirt and I'll make a new one! LOL This time I'll use green, yellow and maybe orange. I need to go and get a new shirt and more soda ash. Hopefully, I can do this today!
We are trying to decide if we want to keep our ADR's for Cap'n Jacks at DTD for our up coming trip. I had made the ressie based on an old menu. One of the people that works there recently posted the new menu. No steak and no ribs. We were looking forward to steak and lobster. But now that we are just 45 days out, I wonder what might even be available! That day is our water park, disney quest, DTD day. I guess we could go just about anywhere. Hhhhhmmmmmm........
Well, I better get off of here and get a few things done! Steve is off today and I have a "Honey Do" list as long as his arm!
Have a MAGICal Day!! pirate: and stay warm :daisy: and dry! :umbrella:

Can you post pics of your t-shirts? I'd love to see them!!!!!!!!!!

I think my dd is going to get her ears pierced today! She has been afraid to do it for a long time, and almost did it yesterday. She decided to come home and think on it a little more but she said now that she wants to go get it done today. She wants to wear cool earrings at the Pirate Party. Now that's thinking ahead!

Erika,

Please let us know how and if your daughter does with getting her ears pierced how exciting...

How did the t-shirts come out..

The weather here today is horrible raining and just plain gross and cold...

I'll see if I can get photos of the shirts later. Here it is 1pm and we are still laying around in our jammies! LOL We have been trying to decide on where to eat on our trip! We ditched Cap'n Jacks and made a ressie for Tony's Town Square...even after such mixed reviews. We are eating at 2 places that get such mixed reviews....Tony's and Sci-Fi. Neither one we have tried and have decided we just need to find out for ourselves. Our Tony's ressie is at 830pm, so we are "HOPING" the magic is with us and we'll be able to see the parade during dinner!
Steve is out of the shower, I best get mine! Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

We were busy planning our recent trip to WDW (just returned home on Easter Sunday) so I have not been on the cruise boards for a while.:wizard:

I saw the reference to Captain Jacks, and wanted to say that we ate their on our trip. Although I didn't know the menu had changed, we thought the food was great. Both DH and I each had a chicken ceaser salad and thought it was delicious. DS10 had their Mac and Cheese meal, which he loved.:)

Although I didn't keep a menu, what everyone else was having looked great as well. We had a great view by the winder and it was a fun afternoon at DTD (we also did DQ and did some pin trading).pirate:

Sorry to hear of all of your miserable weather. PiperG and I enjoyed glorius weather this weekend, finally!!! Sorry, was I gloating??? 30 inches of snow in March, in 1 week, I can gloat now LOL.

My dd did get her ears pierced today. She tried hard not to cry, but her eyes were full of tears, it did hurt a bit. But we had ice cream after, and she is soooooooooooooo happy now! She is already talking about what kind of earring she will wear on the cruise LOL. We'll see what she says after they poke her in the head while she goes to sleep.

I have to make my ADR tomorrow AM, and I haven't a clue of any of our plans yet. I wish we did not have to make them this far in advance. 3 months was plenty far!

Hello!
We were just on the March 31-April 7 Eastern and rebooked for this cruise. Our district has the entire week off for teacher convention/workshops/goofing around, so we thought we'd try October sailing. This is our 3rd cruise - we've sailed the Eastern itinerary both times, once in January and this past one in April. We love the Eastern!

Sailing with me will be my DH, DD(17 at sail time) and DS15. Our cruise in April included 13 family members - we had a great time. Here is a link to my trip report if you're interested:

Hey fellow Minnesotan!!! You guys get the whole week off for MEA? What district are you in? We only get Thursday and Friday. PiperG is from MN also! Your son will be 15 at sail time? My son will also be 15. Welcome!

I had the biggest pain calling dining this morning. First I went through the entire message, pushed all my buttons, and then pushed 2 to not participate in the survey after my call. Big mistake, I got a busy signal and had to hang up. Called back, pushed all my buttons, and 1 to participate, and sat on hold for 10 minutes, only to get connected to Grand Gatherings!!! He, of course, was not as adept at the dining computer and said he could help, but next time to dial WDW DINE. Yeah, that IS what I dialed! Oh well, took forever, but I got the only 2 reservations I was making at the time, but it was such a pain.

Hi Erika- We are in ISD 196 (Rosemount-Eagan-Apple Valley) and the district conducted a survey last year regarding vacation days. The people spoke and we have the entire MEA week off for 2007 and 2008; our spring break is now always the last full week in March (used to revolve around Easter) and we have 2 full weeks off at Christmas. I love the October week as we would always end up pulling the kids out of school and making up missed work. At the high school level, that is nearly impossible to do. So we are so thrilled with that change!

When are you going to WDW? MEA I bet!

Yep, MEA this year too!!! Our district, Elk River, could care less what anyone thinks. Our vacation times are always different and they stink! Oh well, I hope my son can make up that 3 days of work when he starts high school this fall.

Good Morning everyone! and WELCOME to Minniesota and family! I love that we will get to know so many folks before cruising! I wonder how MJ's trip is going?? I hope she's having a great time!

The sun is shining and the sky is a bright blue, but the wind is aweful and the air is cold! It's very deceiving! Hopefully, my yard will dry out some today! Connor commented that he thought "the creek in our yard might spill out of it's bank". Sadly, we don't actually HAVE a creek in our backyard!! It just LOOKS like it! UGH!

I took photos of our Mickey T's last night, but didn't get a chance to post them. I will try to do that later today when I get home. (I am babysitting right now. Sometimes my house, sometimes here. The baby is not feeling great, so I'll hang out here today!)

There is a thread in the Dining Plan section that talks about Cap'n Jacks and one poster works there. He posted the new menu last week. If I can find the thread again, I'll post the link here. We are a meat and potatoes family and the seafood just didn't sound too good to us. PLUS both the boys are considered adults, although Connor turns 10 just 2 weeks before we go, but he is the pickiest of eaters. He really didn't like what was on the menu once they took the steak and ribs off. I think we'll be happy with Tony's. I just hope we can see the parade and fireworks from there! Also, the park is open until 11 that night. I am sure we could hit a few of the more popular rides (mountains) that night with very little wait time! Haunted Mansion closes that day for rehab too. Maybe we can be the LAST family to ride before rehab! Hhmm...I'll have to plan that.....

Have a MAGICal day ya'll!! :sunny:
