Going fine. Trying a little shoe browsing online. Gonna need shoes for the cruise. Hell i already need shoes, just keep putting it off LOL.

Couldn't stay awake last night so i was in bed by 11:30. And then up by 8 cause i was up:surfweb:

HOw bout you?

Never hearsd of that site. Usually the first place anybody I know looks at is cheaptickets.com

Hi everyone, Janet (Mommyrom) and I are off to the hospital today at 7:30am for her to be induced. As of last night she was at 3cm's so all the doctor has to do is break her water and if she does like she did with our last two children she should give birth in about an hour.
Keep us in your thoughts today and I'll keep you all posted and have pictures hopefully by tonight.
Morning all,
We can add another parrotthead to the list!!! :yay: :cheer2:

We are doing ok. The kids and Bruce and I are wicked congested. My throat hurts too. But, we have field day today in school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if it is allergies or what since the pollen is wicked high here today and it is really windy too!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning Allen

Sorry to hear about that kristen. Hopefully it is just allergies. That's 1 good thing about living in VA. Whatever gives me allergies in Philly isn't here. I very rarely have any congestion during allergy season. But there's something wicked in the magic Kingdom and Epcot that gets me, no idea what though.

Oh that is soo nice. I wish that could be how it would be up here in freezing cold CT. I hate living here sooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!

The weather is strange down here, but there are things that make up for that, like no allergy meds. I can safely say I'll never live in CT. Soo much money to live there. On our salary we'd be on the streets in CT. We hope to move to NC in a couple of years, we're practuically there as is anyhow. Its a little nicer and taxes are smidge lower. Get a little more house for the money too. Our tentative deadline is to be house hunting in 2010.

It is soo expensive to live up here. I would love to live in Florida one day when I retire but I guess it would always depend upon where the kids end up.. I bet you can't wait for 2010 to come???!!!!!!!!

I tell ya I'm ready to move now, Kristen. But we still have work to do on the house b4 we sell it. Probably after the cruise once we get the floors in the living room/dining room done then I'll call my realtor and find out where best to spend the money on so we'll concentrate on those things and then sell it. I really don't want to put a lot more work into it, but we absolutely have to put some into the kitchen. I want to know how little I can get away with. If we stayed home we could put the cruise money into the house, But the past couple of years have had expensive surprises and we haven't had a real vacation since our honeymoon. Rich is just soo tired.

When the day came when I knew we didn't have to push the cruise back. He looked at me and said can we really afford it? I took all the excursions/tours off the table. We don't need any of that. The cruise we can go on, a million tours..not so much. He looked soo happy when I put the last deposit down the other night. Its a good thing 4 months goes by like that.

Where in NC are you thinking of? Lots of great areas here that you can live near a city, but still feel like you live in a town, ya know what I mean? Housing $$ are rising, as are the property taxes, but from what I hear from friends/family who live in other states, we still have it pretty good here in the Tarheel State. Each region in the state has its plus and minus points, and each has its own groove.

I guess it probably will depend on where you find jobs. We've had big hits in manufacturing, textiles and agriculture over the last few years, but things actually are starting to look up again. Our state gov't hands out millions of $$ in incentives to bring in companies/jobs. But the downside to this is the company doesn't contribute 100 percent to the tax base, which helps build schools, roads, etc.

NC didn't do the "build it and they will come," they had an Uh-oh, they are here, I guess we need to built it now" mentality, so infrastructure is just now catching up with the huge population explosion in recent years.

:flower3: OK, no way I'm sorting through nearly 1500 posts to catch up here! I'm new to the boards and this will be my first cruise, so I wanted to pop in and introduce myself. We are so excited about this cruise! The kids, who have no concept of time, keep asking me if it's time to go yet. I'm loving all the great tips and advice on these boards. Hope it's ok for me to join in with my fellow cruisers on this thread.

Welcome! This will be my family's first cruise as well. We are myself, my husband and three daughters ages 11, 6 and 3 (will be 12, 6, 4 on the cruise). We hail from North Carolina.

We are closest to Moyock, so we are hoping to find something in that area when we are ready. We may go a little bit further south than that, but I don't want to go too far since we are already a 3-4hr drive from my family where live now. I think Camden would be the furthest we would go, but i hope not that far.

As far as jobs go DH would likely keep the job he has now in VA, he has too many years in to just be able to walk away for something else. Though he's not very happy with his job right now. I'm trying to get him to apply for a different contract but its like pulling teeth.

So among the downsides to moving would be paying income taxes in both states, but buying a bigger house here would likely mean all house and no land. Town homes are everywhere now, and for prices I wouldn't dare unless I were in Philly cause many of them are Historical, but even up there you'd still get more land than what's available here.
