I thought I had read that there was a Toy Story Show? Is that on the Wonder?

I forgot about that. Let me ask on the thread I started. If nobody here knows, I'll post the answer.

I meant to get this info before I made my reservations last night. It would have helped me decided what time to plan dinner for and what nights I knew I couldn't miss a show.

Hi guys! I too booked our ressies last night but I was wondering when did they let us start doing it at 12am? Last time I cruised it was 3am. It's ok I still managed to get brunch, high tea and dinner (just not on the days/nights I wanted but what I got will work!). I was looking to get brunch on monday and high tea thursday, but got it the other way around. Got our dinner at Palo for Wed. which is the day I wanted. Got the time I wanted too, so that isn't so bad.

Tigger/Pooh4- we usually try and book Palo for dinner for wed for several reasons. It is the night that usually don't have one of the shows (Dreams, Golden Mickeys, Pirate night, etc). Another reason, we like to try and get PLA rotation and if we do, Wed is the second visit to Lum's and that menu is good, but nothing "must have". Knock on wood that we get that rotation!!!! We didn't want to do it monday because if we were to eat at AP that night, we would miss the show! Thursday is semi formal night and we like to get the kids nicely dressed and have dinner together that night. It doesn't really matter what day you pick. I know some people who LOVE dinner at Palo on Pirate night!:scared1: Whatever floats your boat:laughing:  !

Well gonna go and jump in the pool. We FINALLY have weather that is warm and not raining!!!!

Have a good day all!

I went this morning to do the palo ressies and I am confused. All the times for Thursday (day at sea) are wide open, yet most of the times for Wednesday (St. Thomas) are booked full. What is so popular about that day? I would think a day at sea would be harder to get that a port day. Who wants to rush back to the ship for Palo? Am I missing something?

My guess it has to do with a number of factors. First off, as far as rushing back goes. Don't forget, all aboard for St. Thomas is 4:30pm. Thursday night is semi-formal night and must-not-miss show Disney Dreams. I know for me, I picked Wednesday based on the menu I'd least mind missing. Others may feel the same way? I don't know too much about the show that night. Is that one of the variety shows? Another thought is that Palo is a great place to eat and watch the islands go by as we depart St. Thomas.

P.S. I corrected your post. A common mistake, but Palo does not have an 's' at the end.

Poor, poor Allen & Mary Margaret!

I feel so sorry for you!;)

Where are you staying this time? I can't quite figure it out from the pics....

Jamie (sitting in my kitchen, watching it rain, skipping church :guilty: - stayed up late for ressies :surfweb: )

We're up behind The Village at Jack Huff's. Older motel, but has wifi, fridge, microwave. Short walk (cut through) to the main drag. We've found a cajun place to eat across from the village. It was here around Christmas, but I was worried they had bugged out, but it was still here and ate lunch there yesterday. One of Allen's coworkers is up here now too, so we took them to see the Hippensteele Bed & Breakfast near the arts & crafts community after a good lunch at little backwoods cafe'. It's raining again here and the road to home is still closed. :sad2:

Oh man!! I would have burned them up already! LOL BUT we also have Allegiant Air that boasts $70 oneway tickets to Sanford! I would have been there, done that!! I understand what you mean about saving them though too!! What happen at AKL, if you don't mind me asking?

Well... ugh!

AKL... we were SO excited about it, as animals is one of Sean's really BIG things (his make a wish trip was to the San Diego zoo and wild animal park). Anyway... the FIRST night we were there we got a phone message at 10 pm, that the power would be going out intermittently the following night (beginning at midnight till about 3-4 am). With a kiddo who is electrically dependent, this is NOT a good thing. (and our TA had let them KNOW all of this when she booked the room).

I called right away to the front desk, and they assured me that when housekeeping came the next MORNING that they would leave us a battery back up for Sean's bipap. We came back early from the parks (2 pm) to check and be sure that we had a back up... and we did not. Called again, they said it would be there within the next 2 hours. Mom is busy in a panic, trying to figure out back up plans, seriously considering going out and buying our OWN battery back up beyond the little 2 hour one we already had.

Still no back up power supply... went TO the front desk, had our TA call, still by 6 pm, nothing. Finally we got one around 9-9:30 pm. Only one little problem... it wasn't CHARGED UP!!!! Plugged it in, and tried to get some sleep. Power went out at about 11:30 pm, and voila... battery back up started BEEPING every 30 seconds as it slowly discharged. SLowly I say, because it only lasted 1 1/2 hours. Called the desk, and they brought us up another... IT lasted an hour. Called the desk again and they brought us up 2 more... all of them of course beeping every 30 seconds, as no power was getting TO the back ups so it had to let us know that it was slowly discharging as our son was breathing in and out on his machine....

Needless to say sleep was NOT HAPPENING that night. The next day we were fried... totally wasted day. We went to the desk and asked for a re-imbursement of our nights stay... AKL is NOT CHEAP you know, for a savannah bunk bed extended length room! They said no. Finally, after our TA getting involved, not getting ANY calls back from management, either to her OR to us... and AFTER our a5 night stay at ALK and had moved to our next 5 nights at BWV they agreed to give us half a nights re-imbursement.

Grrrrr... we were SO peeved... truly angry. Our TA was a dear, so upset on our behalf she connected with the cruise folks (this was just before our 4 day wonder cruise, with a group of 200 people from special needs families!). THEY were great... apologized all over the place for the lack of the management at AKL. AND when we found out that THEY had messed up our room (we were a 4 person group booked into a 3 person handicapped room!) they went out of their way and found out that the handicapped room across the hall from us was vacant... so we got BOTH rooms.

Finally about 2 MONTHS after we got home from the trip our TA got some satisfaction by her contacts sending us the 12 1 day passes to the world...

I will never EVER go to AKL again. Never. I realize it was management who so badly messed up, the people from Africa that did the story telling, games, etc, the servers, all really nice people and caring, but the desk and management staff stunk big time. (can you tell I am still peeved? LOL!).

Anyway... so we will use the passes eventually... just don't want to do it too many times too quickly or the kids will get even more spoiled than they already are! LOL! (me TOO!).

Hows that for a "short story?" LOL

We would really be interested in seeing any pictures you would have from Vero Beach. We are considering go to VB instead of the Tortola cruise. Mainly because our friends might not be able to do Tortola on the same date. But VB with them in September might just be better!!

I love VB, we are doing it the week before the cruise. We stayed there once before and fell in love. Just so relaxing!!!!

pm me your email address and I can forward pics too. We stayed in a one bedroom, Kristin stayed in a 2 bdroom and toured the cottage so she can lete you in on that. The kids loved it too!!! A must do:goodvibes

Heidi, what a SCARY situation!!! I too, would have been LIVID! I can understand that the hotel might have to go through some sort of maintenance and have to shut out the power, BUT when you have guests who's lives depend on that power, they had better be prepared to handle that situation...and obviosly, they were not!!! We have stayed at AKL Savanna View with Bunkbeds too!!! It's an incredible experience! I am so sorry that the management botched it up!! At least you got SOMETHING for your troubles...although, just having a wonderful trip in the first place would have been better!

Off to make dinner and finish packing the boys things!!!!

Well in all the confusion over the "you have not paid your balance" notice last night, I booked the wrong night at Palo!! I intended to book Wed. night (for a lot of the reasons previously posted) but I accidentally booked Thursday - lobster night!! My BIL would kill me. He loved lobster and my kids love the dressing up for semi-formal (or at least my DD!)

Anyway, I went back in today and got Wed at 6 which is too early for us so we will have to go to Rockin Bar D first thing and try to move it and add my nephew and his girlfriend. I was hoping for a relaxing start to the cruise. Oh well, this will be the third time I've had to dash to Rockin Bar D!

Shoot.....last night was the night to book ressies??? I thought it was tonight!!! I am in Florida visiting family and I was prepared to stay up until midnight tonight to book my stuff....oh...I hope something is left. Duhhhhh me!!!

We did Palo on the last cruise on Semi Formal night. Our kids were old enough to go to the dining room and enjoy dinner together and we went to Palo. We were able to get lobster at Palo that night too! So to us, eating at Palo on semi formal night is Okay!

and Maureen, just so you and Rich know, I was telling the story at dinner tonight of Heidi and I having made Palo for the same day and time. I also made mention that you don't have kids, but are working on that! The boys instantly said, "Well, we can just give her some parental training time" then they proceeded to act up and be silly and foolish and acting like 2 year olds! LOL GOOD LUCK!!!!

I'll post some tonight or tomorrow. We too are reconsidering our Tortola cruise and going to VB instead!!!!!!!!

The kids are all ready for the HSM 3 preview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening everyone!

I accidentally found the thread for our young 'uns. Maybe I knew there was one, and I forgot:confused3 .

Anyway, my daughter, Allie - 13, has posted and would love to hear from others on the cruise. She is 'ccbchlvr' (cocoa beach lover - as in she loves the beach). I'd like for her to know others in the teen club so they can look out for each other. I'm having a hard time with the fact that they can come and go at will. Last year we made her carry a walkie talkie and contact us when she was leaving/going, etc. But that's so UNCOOL!

OMG that is the funniest thing I've read in 3 days Michele. I sowed it to Rich and he thought it was very funny too. we really can't wait to meet everybody.

For those of us that are Castaway Club Members, here is the gift this year!

MVC-023L-1.jpg

I think the duffle bag is great! I already have 2 of the mesh red bags, and I'm not sure what to think about the red stack that shows no purpose! Oh well....it's a gift!!

I had thought about ordering a duffle bag as a gift for in our room, but I guess I won't! I wish we could order beach towels as gifts, but then I guess we can get those in the gift shop!

Boy do I wish I was a club member for that!! I am considering ordering a tote bag type gift too, and/or the one with the two robes and champagne and chocolate.

Shoot.....last night was the night to book ressies??? I thought it was tonight!!! I am in Florida visiting family and I was prepared to stay up until midnight tonight to book my stuff....oh...I hope something is left. Duhhhhh me!!!

Let us know will ya? Cuz if there's nothing left for you, then there's surely not going to be anything for us that can't book yet.

Did I read that they had changed the age range of the teen club to 14 now?

Welcome back Alex! Alex, what do you and Maggie have planned for the morning in St. Maarten? I think my guys want to do the Regatta, so Alexa and I are trying to figure out what to do with the morning until they are done.
