I guess you don't have to worry about booking with them, since they are out of business, BUT we do need to find out who bought them so we don't use them. Not that we have every hired a car service, we have always rented a car or drove to FL. Steve is talking about driving to FL in June. I actually like it because I have the freedom to pack what I want and not worry. It will make for a longer trip, but airfare, even by Allegiant, is going up!! We paid $80 oneway for October, they only have as far out as April, and they are $109 oneway. Once it gets over $100, it's cheaper to drive.

We're still tossing the idea around. It makes for a massive drive for us and by the time we get there I'll be tired and grumpy for a few days. I like the idea of hoping on a plane and arriving there a few hours later.

If I were any further away, I would always fly. I can't imagine. I give Heidi a TON of credit for driving across country with her boys. Although, she did it the right way...took her time, planned interesting stops along the way, and visited with friends. Our drive from here is about 13 hours...according to mapquest. I broke it all down, and even figuring on the high side for food, fuel and lodging, it's still about $300 cheaper to drive. We'll see once they post the June airfares. Maybe they'll have a $29 special we can scarf up!!!

Not to mention the drive home weighing in the back of you mind while you are there!!

Check out how much the price has gone up for our 2010 cruise!!!!!!!

That is very doable. It takes us about 12 hours to get to Nancy's folks and we've been doing that for years. We pack lunches and only stop for coffee gas and pee breaks.

Ok I have a splighting headache and a sore throat, ugh, not looking forward to what's coming my way. Night all

All right, I am going to bed. I am cold tonight! And I didn't have to sit at the field! I guess it's time to turn the heat back on. We've had the heat, the A/C and it all turned off at various times through the week! I think it's all off right now. Have to change that!

Ya get up every morning,
to the alarm clocks warning
take the 815 into the city

I actually enjoy traveling... most of the time. Not so much in tornado weather (came close a couple of years ago when we were driving through Nebraska, drove past a small one... EEKS! green skies and everything!). And I tend to feel more relaxed if I can drive even if it means driving several days rather than flying. Especially with all the carry ons we have to haul... counting what we would HAVE to bring on board our fellow passengers would FLIP! Not to mention dealing with the O2 costs and such... forget it! Let me drive and have my own beast to drive wherever I need to go thanks...

Of course it also helps that my boys are very content to listen to stories on CD. I have a huge selection that we have collected, everything from Robin Hood to Shakespeare to Narnia. (with a little Adventures in Odyssey as well as some old time radio theatre). I collect good books to read too that they don't know I have waiting for our next trip (Seattle, next week!). LOL!

wish we could join some of you on your various trips to the world this year or the cruises next year, but we have other things on our plate I think. Maybe the World Fall 2010, at the end of our East coast history tour, all going well.. :)

Heidi
