We have a garment bag, and it really helps.

I don't doubt it. I hate4 the thought of putting the suit jackets for Rich and my formal night outfit in the suitcase. We have 2 of the inside holders that can be used for hanging clothes.

But:

I'm not sure how much they hold, and I don't know if they're acceptable for checking. If they're acceptable I can always experiment to see how much we can get in them.

We have 2 regular sized suitcases, a garment bag, and 1 smaller one. Not bad for 5 people, huh?

We put all the formal dresses, suits, and dress shirts in the garment bag. We usually send out the suit and shirts for ironing only when we get on board.

I hope this helps.

You might want to check with your airline to see if they are acceptable for checking. Some airlines are funny with what they will check and not. PLUS, those bagage people aren't very gentle with your luggage.

I have not gotten my doc's yet. Has anyone else still not gotten theres?
If you do the online check in, the only think you are really missing is the luggage tags. If you know your room number, the porters will tag them when you get there. So, it's not really a big deal. :thumbsup2 I think I would call my TA though anyway!!!

I have a dumb question that maybe someone can answer...i'm reading all your posts, and what exactly are Parrotthead Pirates? I'm confused...I see the sigs with a pirate mickey, but i'm curious...i'm going on that cruise and I just wanted to know...

Thanks!
You are welcome to join us if you like!!

All I need to know about is the ship. Not flying. If i were, I'd shove em in the suitcase and press em onboard. May press 1 or 2 items anyway. But we're driving down. Even in SE VA its too close for me to go through the headache of flying down.

Octoberbride03, I think you should be fine if you are just concerned with the ship. Just remember, they do "put" all luggage in this big LARGE steal "cages" to get them on board. How gentle they are, I can't say.

This is the first I've heard about the cages. Well I'll take some more opinions from everybody and then we'll see about a new bag. We're just 2 ppl, but still. I dunno.

Goptta go finish supper. Be back after the deabate maybe

Nancy, I saw your email and just have not felt very well today. I'm sorry for not getting back to you today...

I think somewhere maybe by the pool might be good or there is the Promenade Lounge and they have a bit of a "stage" area that we did our group photo at last time and it worked out very well....I think that would be the Perfect spot and I think during a sea day would be the best. I'm here tonight if you want to give me a call....!!!!!!!!!

You can watch them put these cages on board from the observation deck at the port. Unless they have changed things.... that is how they get all the luggage on board quickly. They use a fork lift to move these cages into the ship. It is cool to watch. Personnally, if it is just the 2 of you, you should be ok. I just don't know how they get the luggage out of the cages.

We have always checked in our garment bag thru the ship no problem. Ours is a pretty old Samsonite one that we fold in half. We put the boys' suits, shirts, and my dresses in it. Ray manages to fit his and the boys' dress shoes in there. When we get the luggage delivered we go to the laundry room right away and iron the shirts if needed. Last time I used the Downy wrinkle release and it worked pretty well.

My top items for packing:
All our meds & extra sunscreen (we ran out on the last cruise-the spray cans do not contain much in there)
Ziploc bags of various sizes
Tide to Go pen (Zachary had dropped the mickey head ice cream bar on his dress shirt on formal night one time-I used it when we got back to the room and all the chocolate came off)
Our mini first aid kit with band aids, neosporin to go (Chris got a blister from his water socks one time and it was nice having the bandaids with us)
Anitbacterial hand gel and wipes while we're at the ports
Quarters, travel detergent, and bounce sheets for laundry

Just got a recorded call from the boys' school. They are to wear Rays gear tomorrow in celebration of their win today. Media is supposed to be at the school tomorrow. I found a mickey baseball design with the Rays logo on one of the threads so I'm going to make an iron on and put it on the shirt for them. This way they should stand out and maybe get their photo taken.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hate to post and run, but have to go give Zachary a neb. treatment before bed. Took him to the doctor today b/c he has been coughing at night but not during the day. She heard wheezing in his chest, so now he has to have treatments every 6 hours for the next 5 days. I have never had a problem with him with asthma. It's usually the other 2 I have to give treatments to when they get coughs. Oh well. So, I guess I need to bring the machine on the ship.

Hope everyone has a good night if I don't get back on later.

I vote for Promenade Lounge too!!!!

Hellloooo everyone...Im here...How is everyone??!?! I had ONE OF THOSE kind of days today **SIGH**

I will go anywhere you guys say for the photos....I have no prefernce....umm but if you need a vote to seal a place...then I will vote promenade lounge...but I really have no preference.

Maureen---you got me to thinking. The thing that I bought from the Disney store online Im not sure if it counts as a garment bag or not...it zips up and such but you have to use your hangers to carry it...hmmm If you have to get a new one then I might as well :confused3 So I will wait and see what the response is to your question to see if I need to be making another Target run.

Ok...anyone want to hear my day??? Ok here I go...

Once Chris and I woke up, I headed to our new place (my dad was already there working on Christo's bed...which is pretty much done by the way) anyhoo Mike found out that we have to get a permit to place a shed in the back yard (just a simple already built shed from Home Depot) but because of that I have to go to Home Depot to get them to give us some kind of paperwork that proves tha there will be no electricity in the shed or anything....Anyhoo so I had to go up to our City hall to ask them exactly what it was that I needed...off I went...Did that (CHECK!) so then my stomach was calling me (lunch time!!) so i called dad and then went to pick up some McDonalds food for us all...off I went to do that...along the way someone left a rake in the road and guess who happened to find the rake when it was too late??? YUP it would be me! (BUMP...OR CRASH whichever you like..***(Insert your own sound effect here) OUCH! but I am driving and thinking...is it possible to get away with running over a rake with no ill effects??? NO it is not!! My light indicator thingy (yes thingy is my term for it) came on right away...GREAT Im thinking...FLAT TIRE...so off I went home after getting our grub...get out of Jeep...look at tire...Tire is not flat!! YEA ok...So I had to run to Target to get millions of listed items for the new house...Been putting it off for a few days but today was my day to go and get them...Get to Target..Get cartload of items...arrive back to car to load them...Mom Notices that the tire is FLAT...I mean FLLLLAAATTT!!! :headache: Great...So now I call my dad..who has some Fix a flat (although Mike was on the way home from work as well...there goes my idea of beating him home to get everything put away before he got home)...Mike winds up coming out to Target to put the fix a flat in...and off we go to home...well new home. WHEW! so now I get more added to my list that I have not scheduled in!! This was not in the RULE BOOK!! :lmao: Tomorrow we will have to go and get a new tire...SIGH...Im not sure I am ever going to get everything done in the new place...or even everything packed up for the new house either..

But good news...Christophers new room is almost done (cant find the wall border anywhere but online...so I will have to order it to be sent here) but the bed is in there...still have to get the canopy done....but I will post pics in a second when I get them uploaded.

I am tired and have a minor headache...I need a cruise... :rotfl:

So anyhoo how is everyone else??? :grouphug:

Gail- Which place do you like better for dinner: Outback...Olive Garden or Chili's??? I think I have narrowed it down to those three for Wednesday night...Anyone else want to join that will be in the port Wednesday is welcome to...and if you want to join and have a preference...then feel free to speak up :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :goodvibes
