The shuttle, however, is on track to launch during your visit. Currently Oct. 8, it may delay 2-4 days to the 10th-11th as TS Fay put them behind in their work.

I just visited this site. Wonderful pictures. I am sure that it is too late to get the KSC Causeway seating. Titusville seemed to be the best second choice. The site said anywhere along that five mile stretch. Do you have a favorite spot over there: good view, reasonable parking and crowd.

Also, you had some pictures listed under the title of just Port Canaveral. Exactly where at the port where those pictures taken from because that wasn't bad either.

The causeway tickets are sold out individually (the $51 ones). However, they still offer a bus pickup in Orlando package that includes causeway viewing, it costs double. They usually don't sell out of those.

I would definitely do Titusville for a night launch as the second choice. A good spot is Space View Park, which has monuments to the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs and a pier, but get there early. There's plenty of other spots in Titusville, though.

The Port Canaveral spots are a 'park at the side of the highway' deal, and many people do that. It's a little farther than Titusville, but the spot is located in the Delta 4/ Atlas 5 page. You can also pull off on the Beeline/528, and park on the north side of the highway, rather than that one little spot specifically which could get crowded.

Okay, Steve has had one heck of a day.....well, his Pharmacy Tech has, but of course, they work so closely all day that when something happens to one of them, it affects all of them.

A few months ago, Dreama's DH was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He has taken treatment, but the Dr's think it's still there or back. He went for another MRI yesterday.

Last week, Dreama herself went to the eye dr because she was having trouble seeing. Part of her vision was blacked out in one eye. She had NEVER in her life, been to an eye dr. She has 20/20 vision in her good eye. the Dr thought that maybe she was getting nerve damage in her eye because she was not maintaining her high blood pressure. He ordered her to see an opthamologist who ordered her to have a MRI done yesterday as well. The Dr's office CALLED HER AT WORK to tell her she has brain tumors. Hello? Why didn't they call her and ask her to come into the office to discuss her results? Needless to say, the whole pharmacy was a mess. She left to go home.

THEN, on the way home from the mall, Steve called to tell me that Dreama's youngest son and her BIL were in a headon collision. Both are in the hospital. One of them was life flighted.

HOW much more can this family endure??????

Oh that is so sad! I hope there can be some good news for them.

We ended up getting a hotel in Titusville as I am driving down from TN that day (assuming the launch doesn't get postponed that is!) and wanted to get a little bit of sleep! Hopefully we can find a spot near the hotel to see the launch from so I don't have to drive... I imagine the roads wont be too pleasant:scared1: and with my big old beast even more so :scared1:

We are at the Best Western Space Shuttle Inn that night, then heading over to CIS until the Cruise itself.

I sure hope this all works out... the boys don't know about the launch so at least if it doesn't they wont be upset if it doesn't, and think about the surprise if does! :) :)

thank you Candy. This family has always struggled to make ends meet. This is just more then they really need. It's more then ANYONE needs. People say things like, "If the Lord brings you to it, He'll bring you through it" or "He'll never give you more then you can handle" This day will be a true test of thier faith and family. I just can't even imagine.....

I do have one more question. I think it was on the site, but somewhere I read that the launch would be so many minutes earlier for each day it is delayed. Did I understand that correct?

Oh Michelle, I am so sorry that this is happening to your friend and her family. I will definitely be praying for them all.

Hopefully, they are a Christian family and if so, those are promises straight from the Bible. It obviously doesn't mean that we won't go through rough times, but it does mean that God will get us through them.

Thanks so much!

I do have one more question. I think it was on the site, but somewhere I read that the launch would be so many minutes earlier for each day it is delayed. Did I understand that correct?

You are correct, each day of delay results in 30 minutes (roughly) earlier for this particular mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Because the Oct. 8 time is 1:34am, you can guess that the time is going to "overlap" one day soon after, and indeed that day is Oct. 11 which will have two launches times of 12:03am and then 1136pm that same date.

Oct. 8 is 1:34am, 9th 1:04am, 10th 12:33am, 11th 12:03am and then again 11:36pm, 12th 11:06pm.

The launch window for the Hubble mission is about an hour long (the ISS flights are all 5 minutes). So there are times to resolve problems or wait on weather if there is any.

Thanks for all the information. Your pictures are great. I would love the opportunity to take some pictures of a launch myself. Maybe this will be my chance!!

Thank you so much for all of this information. I'm hoping for a delay. I know that this is being selfish, because a lot of people have plans for it to be the 8th.

They are currently behind a few days in processing the mission's payload, because of Fay last week. They are going to wait a little while before deciding if they need to move the launch date a few days to the 10th or 11th maybe. However, now we must keep an eye on Hanna.

Are the ladies taking two different outfits for formal and semiformal nights? I just kinda thought I would wear the same thing both nights. Is that a fashion faux pas? I have 2 dresses, I could do that, but I was thinking of packing light. I think I have already become a victim to the shoes...... hhhmm.......

I have 2 different outfits for each. One is a dress for Formal and the other is dress pants and glittery top for semi formal!!! I think you could just wear the same one for both Michele...no biggie!!!
