I'm not sure, but I think this may have been cancelled. When we were first planning when to come to Cape Canaveral, I got on the KSC website to see if there were any launches. This is the one I found. I posted on here that Merkie and I were going to see it. Someone on here told me that an actual shuttle was being launched on the 8th. We changed our plans to come early to see that shuttle. Then when someone else on her pointed out that the 8th launch was at 1:30 A.M., we decided to go back to our original plans. When I got back on the website to see what time the launch would be on the 10th, it wasn't listed any more. I assumed it had been cancelled, but I stress the part where I said "I assumed".
The change the launch schedule almost weekly anyway. A friend called me last night telling me about the launch. So I went looking and found what I posted. Today it is gone!! The page still exists because the link still works.....:confused3 Off to pick up the Bug. Be back later!!

I wanted to share with you the pictures of Christopher in ONE of his pirate outfits...I need to get a full body picture of the other one (yes he has two) Let me know what you think of my little Pirate:

Thankfully I am a Night person...so Its not a huge deal as long as we can sleep in in the morning...but with him awake for so long this morning it was a little difficult. He just started this recently  I hope its just a phase he is going thru :rolleyes1

will he be going to school next year?? maybe it's good that he stays up in the morning!!

and your vote wins! we are heading to the mall to get his glasses, check out CJ Banks again, maybe Hollister and TDS! we'll be back after a bit!!!

Oh, and last night, Bayer Crop Sciences had an explosion! Supposedly there is a You Tube Video of it, but I could not find it this morning. I'll look again later. it happened about 1030 last night, we heard about it around 11. By 12 midnight, they had issued a shelter in place. the interstate and ALL secondary roads were closed. All was determined to be okay at about 2 am. The area came as close as 5 miles of our house. When Steve came up at Midnight to tell me, I started making a list in my head, Cash, dogs, food, water, clothes, meds, blankets....If they would have said it was bad, we would have been heading for Ohio. Thankfully, it wasn't, but the thought of what could have happend, is really scary!! That is why this is area is knicknamed "Chemical Valley"!!! It's also concidered a terrorist hot spot, meaning because of all the chemical plants around here, one bomb and there would no longer be a Tri-State area!! Scary to think about. this whole area was under high alert on and after 9/11.

Okay, off to tha mall!!!!

oh my gosh Michele!!!!!!!!!! how scary you must of been! so happy to hear everything is ok now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merkie had a Valentine's Sleepover. Including here, we had ten girls come after school on a Friday. The did makeovers and modeling. Merkie's Dad even put up a makeship runway in our family room for them. They all stayed all night. At 5:30, I told them that they had to go to slepp. Some of them were back up by 8:00. The last girl was not picked up by her mother until 7:00 p.m. I literally thought I was going to die. When Destiny left, Merkie and I went on to bed and slept until 9:00 a.m. the next morning. Merkie says it is now an annual event. I will definitely put down some grounds rules if it is.

wow that's really late!!! hope they were not too grouchy the next day!! LOL

Oh no, they were running, laughting and playing. It's crazy how much energy a bunch of 9-10 year old girls have. They cracked me up. They all started wearing bras last year. As each girl fell asleep, the one still awake dipped their bras in water and stuck them in the freezer. They all woke up with frozen bras. I had to apologize to all the mommies as they picked their kids up. I guess I should have supervised a little better.

they still do that? Huh? LOL I was the first one to wear a bra in my circle, so at that sleep over, I got the frozen bra treatment!

still on the look out for a black dress for formal night, but I do have a backup in case I don't find one LOL

Are the ladies taking two different outfits for formal and semiformal nights? I just kinda thought I would wear the same thing both nights. Is that a fashion faux pas? I have 2 dresses, I could do that, but I was thinking of packing light. I think I have already become a victim to the shoes...... hhhmm.......

Hey everyone, Sorry i zoned out for a little bit. I was trying my hand at making two shirts (one for Chris and one for me) for when we fly out to disney on monday...They turned out rather well and I am happy with them. They are those crystals that you melt/heat up to place as a design. I just did simple Mickey heads with them...I will have to take a pic to show you all ;) But I realized that the shirt I did mine on...has a pen/marker mark on it in the front that must have been there when I bought the shirt. I have tried the shout wipes on it and it doesnt work :confused3 We are headed to Target when Mike gets home so maybe I will pick up a bleach pen and see if that works any better....

Gail- that is too funny about the bra thing...I never have had that happen to me at a Sleep over but I did have my dad and mom play a nasty trick on us all...(I always had friends way older than me) so we were doing a sleepover but in a camper in our friends yard. I was the youngest kid..probably age 6 or so...and the rest were all teens or pre-teens and my parents told us a story of how there was a peeping tom on the loose and to be careful. Well as it got dark, unbeknownst to us, my dad got his camo gear on and started walking around the camper and tapping it on different sides....well everyone got scared and then my dad yanked open the door and scared everyone half to death :scared1: He was wearing a mask and everything. All the girls ran to one side of the camper and the bed feel in...so we all ran to the other side and everyone landed on top of each other...we laughed it off later but Im still plotting revenge for him some day :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Michele- WOW  that must have been scary!! sending these your way

Erika--Congrats on your son passing his test!! :thumbsup2 Now we will all have to stay off of the sidewalks

That is so funny. I bet it wasn't so funny to you at the time though. It sounds like a scene out of Friday 13th or Halloween.

Oh boy:woohoo:

I have never seen a sattelite launch. Saw he space shuttle at a night launch way back when I was in high school. That was cool. Had an awesome spot directly across from the launch pad in titusville.

The Atlas 5 launch previously Oct. 10 was postponed till at least late November. That site, kennedyspacecenter.com, is not a good site to check on launch dates as they do not update often enough and usually copy from the site below...

The shuttle, however, is on track to launch during your visit. Currently Oct. 8, it may delay 2-4 days to the 10th-11th as TS Fay put them behind in their work.

Oh now, this is good news for me. If it is delayed even one day, we will see it. We can't leave Kentucky until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. We can't be to Cape Canaveral for a 1:30 a.m. launch. But if it's delayed, we will definitely see it.

I am taking 2 different dresses. I don't think it's a faux pas, I think it's up to you.
