October 08 Questions

Are there any special events that might cause crowds or anything that may close the park early? Where can I go to get this info? Can anyone tell me what the regular park hours are in October? If I can sweetly convince my parent's the price is right , I'm hoping to go October 15-19. We haven't done a family trip in a long time. I would love to be able to stroll the park w/o the huge crowds I experienced last week.

October has turned in to a big crowd month! With all the halloween decorations, the Halloween party at DCA, and A LOT of schools out on fall breaks. We made the mistake last year thinking it was going to be less crowded, and it was PACKED.

The hours aren't late, DCA closes even earlier on the nights they have the Halloween party. I believe DL closed at 9pm?

We went in Oct. 06 and it was very crowded. But, schools in Utah had about a week off of school for fall break and everyone went to Disneyland!! We saw tons of people from our area. Crazy, just crazy. And we didn't know about the Halloween party at DCA or we would have gotten tickets.

We went the weekend before Halloween. Crowds were big but certainly manageable. DCA closed early for MHT but DL was open until midnight on Friday and Saturday night....I think they closed at 11 on Sunday but we left on Sunday so I can't be sure. We were there Thursday evening thru Sunday afternoon.

Since I've seen pictures and heard great things about Halloween, I guess I'm willing to deal with crowds than go at another time. Can anyone tell me if So.Cal. schools are out during the week, and which week?

Utah schools are out on the 16th and 17th and many families flock down there. I'm sure it adds to the crowds, but I hear it's manageable with fastpass.

Oct 06

Was there Oct 8 - 18. Could not believe the crowds. I think the only way its worth it at that time, is if a person wants to see Halloween decos really badly. If not I would avoid Oct. We went last time in Sept and it was much better. The weather was much better also. Just my 2 cents.

Seems to me that DL is always crowded!!! We planned February to avaid Holiday crowds - it was packed! Now I'm thinking October but sounds about the same I guess there is just no way around it. If it's not Holidays, it's Spring Break, or Peak Season or Special Events.... I need a magic wand to wave all the people away!

I think that DL should honor Disers and close the park for a day just for us!

I've heard Halloween decorations are done by the last week in September. I'm considering going during this time. I've honestly never heard of a Fall Break, but wouldn't be surprised. Dh is due back from the land of sand sometime in late Oct or early Nov, so we will probably go back in mid-November prior to Thanksgiving.

Most AZ schools have a fall break as well, and many of them head to DLR. Don't forget about gaydays at the beginning of the month. It draws quite a large crowd as well. I avoid October completely now because of the crowds.
