99% sure that we're going back to WDW in Oct:cool1: , we're going for 2 week's, one of those week's will be half term, but do we go the week before or stay for the week after:confused3.

We always did Oct half term and the 2 weeks before it, making 3 weeks away. Did that all thru junior school and 1st year at High School. Never missed a great deal, they do less towards end off terms than at the beginning.

Sorry duplicate post. Since new servers I am having so much trouble with this site, so slow for me.

In 2003, we intended to go the week b4 1/2 term and 1/2 term itself, however our school was slow with publishing dates and we got it wrong. We ended up going the 2 weeks b4 1/2 term. It was a blessing in a way as our boys were grateful of the 1/2 term to "come back down to earth".

Also, not knowing how old you children are, lots of schools now do 1/2 termly assessments the week b4 1/2 term, - not essential to child's education, but they my well have to sit them alone on their return.

Personally speaking, I would go b4 1/2 term and try to have a few days at home b4 going back to school.

The weather was fine by the way.

My DD's are 9 and 7, so in Oct they would be in Yr5 and Yr4, they break up on the 24th Oct and return on the 3rd Nov. I'm thinking that perhaps Nov would be quieter than Oct:confused3 .

Never found it busy in October but never been in Nov to compare. It probably is quieter in Nov

October would have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party and if you're there it's not to be missed!

We went week before and half term week last October. It was lovely, especially the first week, didn't notice any English accents but the Brits certainly were out in force by the second week! We flew back the Sunday morning and the boys were back at school on the Monday morning. Would have like a few days at home to 'get back to normal' but we'd already taken them out of school for a week. Its going to have to be July next time.

i never even thought about half term when i booked i just got over excited lol

turned out my children will be off for 2 weeks and possibly the monday (its a night flight back which arrives at 6 am on sunday morning) back at school for 1 week then off the october week

thankfully after a tough year the primary school have agreed to authorise the holiday im just hoping my eldest at secondary school gets the same

We were there this half term & a few people asked us why 'so many Brits are here!'. But - it wasn't too crowded & we had great weather, also schools had different weeks this year so it probably would be quieter the 1st week in November.

Also they start putting up the Holiday decorations :santa: (we saw the Christmas tree at Epcot before we came back) - so you may get both Halloween & see some of the decorations.

That's what I was thinking, maybe we could see the Halloween dec's and then also the start of the Christmas dec's??. But having never been at that time of year, I just wondered how busy it would be?, thanks for all your thoughts though....:)
