Oct Free Dining????

I keep reading on these boards things that say "now that free dining has been extended......"

Is that the case I cant seem to find confirmation of that and when I checked with Central Resv they would not confirm.

Is it just that so many are getting pin codes for October or is there a code I am missing.

If there is a code we are using a room only code can they be combined?

Too bad, I want a pin code and have been checking my e-mail everday but with no such luck.

Come on disney I need this to be a special trip, we need a break after the year we have been having.

We finally got the beloved PIN code....it was free dining for october.....OUR TRIP IS IN OCTOBER


but our trip starts the 23rd & the free dining extension was til the 11th

when did you get the code. We just changed our resvie around to a resort from the campground and was hoping to get a code. Is it too late to wish for a code if we leave in 21 days?

I'm a little bummed. I was hoping to avoid "free dining" time because I hear so many bad things about how it affects the restaurants. Like, bigger buffalo steak at AP on Monday when someone visited compared to later in the week when they went back and "free dining" had started...

What do you who visit more regularly than myself think? Does "Free Dining" mean not-so-great dining when you are Paying Out Of Pocket (POOP)?

I coined P-OOP last year and it never took off. I am glad to see a revisit of it.

I don't think that the October free dining will affect much.

*First off - it's just a pin code sent out to a select few.
*Most in October already have their reservations.
*Not many getting the codes now are reporting that they're planning sudden impromptu trips to the World.

The free dining that is happening right now was offered to anyone who wanted to make a reservation for September way back in April. So it was offered at a time that it did impact the number of people at Disney.

I think that overall food is declining at Disney, no fault of a dining plan, but a fault of the economy, an attempt to get more people through the restaurants, and the fact that even though they are offering us less - the restaurants are still packed with people.

So what do you have to do to get selected for one of those codes? Do those codes work only for the people who receive them? Has anyone tried to use a code someone else didn't want? They're probably a one-time used code, but do we know that for sure?
