I am going to be there in October and everytime I called it seemed like everything was booked! I dont' know if it's because of conventions, or what is going on but I think its almost as popular as spring break! Whats going on????

We always go in May so I thought this would be a nice treat! I have heard that its still hot, and still crowded!:(

I had read in some of the books that low season was week after Labor day till the week before Thanksgiviing?

Oct. 8,9,10,11 is Columbus Day weekend. We were there last year and it was PACKED! Whenever kids are out of school, Disney is crazy:crazy: - especially when it is concentrated into a long weekend:earseek:

I think the golf tournament is a little later in the month, but disney is also starting the Epcot food & wine festival earlier in October too. Maybe some of those folks are going for the long weekend.

we had orginally wanted to go 10-9 thru 16 but when I realized this was over columbus day weekend we changed to 12 thru 19

(our 25 anniversary is the 13 so this was the most I could push it we wanted to be there on the 13)

we wont start with the parks till wed>

after the holiday weekend how is the rest of the park as far as crowds go?

thanks

October has been a busier season for resorts for ~6 years, due to conventions (and people loving the great weather and Food & Wine). This is no longer value season for resort rates, as it used to be. Pre-911, there were 2-3 years in a row with no discounts during Oct.
Conventioneers don't increase park attendance during the day, however.

Also a lot of southern states schools have a Fall Break around that time.

We'll be there the 5th-10th (Tuesday - Sunday) - it's Fall Break for us. We plan on spending Saturday elsewhere in Orlando (Thomas the Tank Engine :D ) as I expected the parks to be pretty packed that day.

Food and wine fest, golf classicweekend, possibly festival of the masters and whatever sports events..always a lot going on in the fall right through the holidays at WDW.

I have heard many people as well as myself who got the Visa 7 for the price of 4 deal and this has to be used by Oct 31.

I have been trying for weeks to book the WL for Oct.7-10th and could only get it at rack rate at the time I booked it hoping to apply a code when they came out, it didn't happen, so I was sitting on those 3 nights at rack rate until today! Every morning early I would check the Disney website and there it was this morning!I am very excited saved about $140.00 a night!! Even while sitting here in the midst of a hurricane it was truly a bright spot of my day..........so keep trying.
