Hello Everyone,
Just took a look at the school schedule and we have the 10th off of school. My mind immedietly went to a short trip to DL. We are planning on buying AP's in Feb., so could get them in October instead.

I see that HOJO does not have their great rate available that weekend. Guessing it is because of the Mickey Halloween thing?

Does anyone remember if the AP rates were available in October of last year, or was it only November, early December?

I would love to do DLH at a great rate for those 3 nights.

Maybe I will try my AAA rate and try to get my Mom to come so she can get us a 30% Senir discount. Maybe then I can justify the cost. Hmm...

Any information or suggestions that you might have would be most welcome.

The incredible AP deals started in September last year, if memory serves.

HoJo does offer a 20% discount for AP holders, though.

Where are you checking for HoJo's Entertainment Book rates? Their list on their forums shows that it is available for the 9th, so that's something. Lowers the rate, then if you got the AP discount there for the next 2 nights it still lowers the total from rack rate!

So, I have to wait until August to find out what sort of AP rates might be available for DLH. But I can book HOJO at a pretty good rate in the meanwhile now. Hmm...

Do you happen to know if you get the Senior Discount off of the AP rate, or do you have to choose one?

I am thinking the October trip will be a Grandma trip.

Anyhow, I will get ahold of Lorealle and see what sort of rate I can get. I think we will really like HOJO anyhow.

I'm pretty sure I've read that it's only one discount, so either the senior or the AP at the disney hotels. But I'm not an expert in them.

And yes, you could book hojo right now, and they have a certain amount of time before you travel that you need to cancel by, and I'm sure you would know if there's a AP7 or 8 rate by then.

You might check and see when Gay Days is scheduled this year. It's usually early in October and they offer fantastic discounts at Disney hotels.

I have that day off too (and Thursday) so I am trying to convince my parents to take a quick weekend trip down there. So far it's not looking too good, but if the AP rates come out I'll have a better case.

I was wondering about the dates for Gay Days this year. I remember that the hotel rates lasted beyond the actual event, but probably not as long as you'd need them.

Ok, I checked the Gay Days website and it says that the hotel rates are good Oct 1-10. The cost for DLH is $189/night, PP is $179 and GC is $229.

I would really just continue to shop around and see what you might find online, you can also contact via phone, online, or in person travel agents, I would definitely call properties that I am interested in staying at, to see whether or not they might have any promotions at the time.
