Ok, I'm back today after an incredible exciting Super Bowl victory for my Green Bay Packers! DH and I went to the Magic Kingdom today to see Super Bowl XLV MVP, Aaron Rodgers. My still pics turned out just ok, but I uploaded a pretty good 1:11 minute video on my FB page. It was incredible. I'm on a high that should last me a few months...at least until pre-season in August! :-)

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to state that my wife and I just booked this B2B (26th/30th) over the weekend after getting off the Maiden B2B. It was just so much fun, we had to do another B2B on the Dream and add Halloween to mix was too much fun to miss.

This will also be our 9th and 10th cruise so we will be Platinum before the Fantasy Maiden nest year.

We are booked into 5538, and are looking forward to the extended balcony (tho, I would have loved the round shower in Cat 8s & 4s).

Please add us to any FE (or SHE - Sea Horse extenders) lists and DIS meets. Not sure is any were mentioned and didn't have time to read all 212 pages in this tread. :rolleyes1

Well its probably a good thing you didnt read all those pages, you might of been scared away :lmao: We get a bit crazy sometimes.:rolleyes1

We are doing the FE and will have a meet on board.
Please send a PM to woogal (Shell) and she will add you to the list.
She will give you the information all about it.
I am Kathy and DH is Greg. This will be #21 for us. We are booked but there is a chance we may have to cancel stilll. But I am here everyday to get aquainted and hope for the best.
We have a great group here. Glad to have you joining us.

Kathy

Hi ppartekim and Welcome to our cruise,

My name is Terry and along with my DH Mike, we have a group total of 15 --11 adults, 4 boys 12, 10, 8, and 12 months on this cruise adventure. 5 of them have never been on a ship ever...well, make that 6 if you count the baby. LOL This will be DH and I's eighth cruise, 2nd one on Disney (Magic '09).

Besides the FE exchange which woogal is in charge of, and from which I'm WAY excited about, I'm getting together a Scrapbooking Exchange where each one who wants to participate will create a completed ONE page from a theme list. For more information, you can read ALL about it on page 205. It's quite lengthy, but I tried to answer any and all questions that I would've asked.

It's gonna be a great cruise. Halloween is a wonderful time on the ship.

Glad to have you with us.

Terry

Howdy bananaheads,

rainy and cold here today.
Dreaming of warm tropical islands today:goodvibes
Hope everyone has a great day today,

Kathy

The Who Dats are happy to pass the Trophy to the Cheese Heads. Our city is still on a high from last years Super Bowl win.

Thanks for all the welcomes... Now I just need to get a few more posts in so I can PM folks.

By the way since it will be Halloween on the cruise:

  • Does anyone know if the ship will be doing anything special like the parks?
  • Should we bring candy or something to hand out from our cabin (not that I want to sit in our cabin all night waiting for the knocks)?
  • Should we bring other costumes (besides our pirate gear)?

Looking forward to cruising again.. (just wish I would never have to leave)..

From what I have read in Trip Reports from last year's Halloween cruise, they have trick or treating on the ship and have costume parties. However, I don't think there will be TorT to each stateroom so no need to bring candy unless you want to walk around the ship handing it out. If you want, you could always just make candy bags for the FE gifts.

Here are some activities from our cruise in 2009.

Trick-or-Treat Trail:
There was a trick-or-treat hunt exploring multiple decks of the ship and collecting candy from various stations. Each station was giving 2 pieces of candy each so some of the older children were complaining however we still had plenty of candy at the end of the night.

Haunted Parties:
Halloween costume party – Disney Cruise Line style on the pool deck. The Disney Characters joined in the fun, wearing special Halloween costumes just for the occasion. They had a DJ interacting with all the families.

For adults, the nighttime entertainment district on the Disney ships becomes the ghoulish setting for a costume contest and party sure to bring chills to everyone. There were great costumes onboard :goodvibes

Spooky Movies: The Buena Vista Theatre hosedt special showings of Walt Disney Pictures’ The Haunted Mansion and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Ghoulish Delights: Disney Cruise Line chefs conjured some very special treats for Halloween, including: Pumpkin Cheesecake, spider cupcakes and “Witch’s Brew." many guest were dress in customs during dinner. It was a lot of fun.

During the cruise we decided in advance which days everyone would deliver their FE gifts. The people who had candy theme gifts picked Halloween to deliver their gifts. We liked having different days as then there were surprises everyday:goodvibes and our fish extenders never got to full at once. It was a 7 day cruise though.

Discovery Cove sounds like fun. It is definitely on our list of future plans. The girls are still too young this time. We will just have an afternoon after our flight gets in on Saturday, so we are thinking of just heading to Cocoa Beach and letting the girls see the ocean for the first time.

Got reservations at the Marriott Residence Inn for the night before. I finally have the in-laws looking at some of what we will be doing in case anyone has strong opinions about excursions or our time in the parks afterwards.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We got out the toboggan and spent a couple hours sledding. Love it! This has been a great winter for outdoor activities. Before we know it we will be soaking up the rays in the Caribbean.

TTFN.

Princess Sleepy I got the price quote from work:

A van, that carrys 15 people, would be 175 which worked out to 11.60/pp. They even have a mini bus that holds 25 people and we will probably get that as of now we are at 28 but kids can sit on laps (I'm hoping) and that one is 285 which turns out to be 11.40/pp.....the website is www.abusytraveler.com I spoke to Robbin...they may have smaller car service but I am traveling with 30 people and wanted to get the most cost effective way to get everyone back and forth! :)

We should get a list of special activities with our documents just prior to sailing. They will probably have special items themed for Halloween we can buy to have delivered to our staterooms too.

Thank you! There are 14 of us, so this may be the way to go. I am just waiting to see if we are all getting to the airport at about the same time.

Jaime, so glad you said that about the trip documents. I was wondering how we were supposed to know all this stuff before we left. Will it include dining rotations, and which shows they have, and that kind of thing too?

The activities sound so fun! So far we have been able to keep it quiet about our trip. The girls are young enough that we can still talk in code around them!

We are about 3 weeks out from leaving for our first cruise. After all the snow we have had (and are expecting more today) we are really ready! Next week we should warm up to normal temps, but the past two months have been about 20 degrees below normal.

I am going to have to start coming up with something for DH and I for costumes! I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years!

If its the same as the old ships you wont know your dining rotation until you get your room card upon check in. It is on that and a ticket in your cabin.
Shows are listed one day at a time in the Navigator paper they deliver to your room each night. The first day one will be waiting in your cabin when you arrive.

If you really want to know, just read a TR from the Dream and if they dont say which shows then post and ask them what shows and the order they played. Or post the question on the main forum page. Someone who has crusied on the Dream already will aswer you.:thumbsup2

Hi. It is a nice booklet with everything you need to know about your trip. If you do your online check-in as soon as it opens it will have all the information added to your booklet. I just looked at a clients and it didn't have the dining rotation listed though. You will find it on your room card though when you check in at port.

We had a lot of snow over night! I wish I was going on a cruise in 3 weeks :goodvibes It was fun to dress up. Not sure what we will do this time though. We are not allowed as much luggage this time with our flights so we may have to use our pirate costumes twice.
