Agreed! :thumbsup2 We also like Sunday on the Western. BUT.....We had our Palo dinner on Sunday night and brunch on Monday on our last cruise and that was a bit much....we were still not really hungry the next morning when it came time for brunch. Plus we love Palo and it seemed kind of a bummer to have all of our Palo over so early in the cruise. But sometimes with the reservations being so limited that is unavoidable.
Wow too cool!

Yes, Sunday is also a good option. One other minor consideration is that the show at Aniimators is best the first time you visit. It seems the "show" isn't a main focus in subsequent visits since you have seen it already.

That being said, if you had a PAL rotation you would miss Animators the first time. We find changing Palo is easier than changing dining rotation.

Oh, if it isn't obvious by now, I do spend WAY too much time thinking about the details. LOL ;)

Yep, that is important to note, about Animators. I've seen the show but I love AP so I still try to schedule around it! :goodvibes

DCL changed our dining rotations up on us last time (just our cruise due to staying in Cozumel late which affected Pirate Night) which really messed everyone up. The lines to change Palo/Dining were awful!

I'm allll about the details too! ;)

i have been out of town 4 a few days.....

whadimiss??

i am up and about - will get all caught up on the boards n about an hour.

I just received my email confirmation from Captain Marvin's!! They have different boats that seat from 20 - 45 people depending on what boat you are on. What boat they put us on depends on how many are in our group. So be sure to write in your comment section you want to be in the group orginially booked by "Judy Baggott", and we'll all end up on the same boat, up to 45.:)

....and thanks for the heads up - that prompted me into action.

P.S. GO SAINTS!:wizard:

......since my eyeballs are up to "here" in planning my ABD's vacation for late next month.

Ok.....gotta ask the "Goofy question" of the day......

please refresh my memory -

when are we (Silver member) allowed to make shore excursion ressies?? Is it 90 days prior or 180 days or ???

Thanks as I am having a blast finishing planning the Hollywood segment of next months adventurepopcorn::.

Silver members get booking privlages at 90 days out (August 1st for us). :)
Actually I just checked my reservation online at DCL and it still says 75 days for first time cruisers, 90 days for CC members and 105 days for concerigie guests. So now I"m not really sure, other than we have cruised twice before and the reservation says I can book excrusions on August 1st

The different levels are 105, 90 and 75 days out. You can book excursions 105 days out if you are on the Concierge level (Cat 1 - 3) and the REAS (Romantic Escape at Sea) package.

Okay my question of the day is.....to get a passport or not to get a passport that is the question!!!

I am on the fence if we should get them or not. Are you getting them?

Nope. If we were going out of the country in the net couple years, I would have given it a second thought. Next year for us is bill paying-off year, so if the Government doesn't require it... not going to bother with the extra expense.

We have passports and if we didn't, we'd HAVE to get them as we are from Canada. My question though is, Our passports expire in January 2011. Travelling in October/November is less than 6 months from Expiry. (I've heard some talk about issues when passports are less than 6 months from date of expiry) Will we have a problem, or should we renew them before we travel? That would be an expense I don't want right now, but will do it if I have to.

The reality is you don't need one to sail on a "closed circuit cruise", but in the event of a medical or other emergency where you have to fly home from the Bahamas, Grand Caymen or Cozumel you would be mired in red-tape since you can't fly into the US without a passport.

For our cruise, passports are a form of insurance, they insure that you can travel where you want if things "go south".

We got passports for our 4 day in October 2009. I was relatively painless (except for the expense) and we received them in about 4 weeks, quicker than I would have thought. We figured we would get them now, because what if we received some fabulous last minute offer to travel out of the country? Unlikely, but we thought they would be a good thing to have on hand anyway.

I just signed up to volunteer for the Disney Give a Day program. I'm going to be working at the local children's museum on my day off from work next week. I'm still looking for something my husband and my daughter could do.

How big a deal is Pirate Night (at dinner). I am thinking about booking (or trying to book) Palo to coincide with this.

I'm thinking that we'll have Halloween (dress up) on Sunday - do I really want to bring more costume stuff (even if it's just accessories) for Pirates night (and no I won't consider being a Pirate for Halloween).

Is there a big deal in the dining room? Does anyone have a link to the menu?

thanks.

It's a big deal if your family is into Pirates or the Pirates of the Caribbean theme. My girls like princesses not pirates so for us it is not a big deal. The bigger deal is the on deck part afterwards.

Honestly, we are hoping DCL moves to another "themed" night, the pirate theme was never popular with us, nor will it ever be.

We enjoy the whole pirate night - on our last cruise we had booked palo not realizing that it would be pirate night - we had costumes ready for pirate night that included parrots on our shoulder (jack broke mine but he said, "it was already dead!") - so we still got dressed for the pictures and then went and changed for dinner at palo - you can still go to the deck party afterwards which is still fun - we typically go get our soft-serve ice cream and go sit on our verandah to watch the fireworks

Wow, I never thought of what night to book our Palo dinner on. I don't want to miss any of the great shows, but can you recommend a few nights to choose from? We've never been on the Magic before, and have thus never done a 7 nighter. Do we know yet what shows are on what nights? That would help me choose what I can miss. LOL.

We're going to do the group brunch, so do I still need to make a brunch reservation if the only one we're doing is the brunch? Or do we all make our own brunch reservations and they get linked later?

You do need to make your own reservation. DCL told me to call in the beginning of October to book the private room (right now we all fit in there, but it may be that we do not). They have us noted in their schedule as wanting to book the pd room. If we have more than 14, we'll be in the main dining at big tables near each other- and then I'll be linking us all together when we get on board. :goodvibes
