I just looked it up myself (bored at work and had the time!). It looks like you can get an Amtrak train from Syracuse to Penn Station, NYC and then would have to get a connection from there (either NJ Path train or perhaps a bus).

From Penn Station into NJ it might also be NJ Transit- that would cover buses, too, out of the Port Authority in NY. Where in NJ is the destination? That would determine a lot! :goodvibes

Hello Everyone! I'm so glad to have found this group. This will be our 3rd cruise. We live in Palm Coast, Florida only about an hour or so away from the port. We have Late dinner seating. Sailing will be my DH Will , Me Jamie, DS 15, DD 11, DS 6, DS 4. My user name is wjruss. Thank you for adding us!:yay:

Jamie

:welcome: Aboard! Glad to have you sailing with us! :)

Hi there,

My youngest DS is 6 now but will be 7 in July. He's on the kids Thread ,You should have your son pop on by there:) My DS enjoying it so much, everyday he wants to check to see if there's a message from someone then if there is he sits on my lap and helps me type them back. I think it will be great for them to have started these friendships before they meet...how exciting will that be:yay:

I can only keep it (our trip) a secret for a little while. usually we tell them christmas day... this year we waited till really late (right before they go to bed). That morning when they were opening their presents they were "no cruise" and kinda sad...got to keep them guessing:rotfl:

My DS's birthday is in July too (turning 7 this year). I wonder if there is a way of having him check out the kids thread without him knowing about the cruise? I'll have to think of something.:)

JKSWonder, thanks for the info on the trains. I'll look that up now.
I've always wanted to take my mother on a Disney Cruise with us, just couldn't this time around. BUT I'm planning it for Sept. 2011. My brother is taking her to Punta Canta in a few more days (her gift from him and his wife for Christmas). I'm going to try and talk my brother into Cruising with us Sept 2011. (they haven't been big on the idea so far, he seems to think being on a boat is NO fun! I'll have to show him some of our pictures and videos).

hello all!!!!

i'm the 15 year old daughter of beachbumpirates and i'm looking to meet teenage kids who will be in the stack. you can PM if you want to chat!

can't wait to cruise with you!:cool1:

Your welcome!

My Mom came with us on our 4 day October 2009 cruise. She paid her own way, though. She is not coming on this trip, mostly because she cares for my grandmother full time and can't be away that long and also because we wanted it to be "just us" this time, do you know what I mean?

Real quick has any one sailed in oct and this might be a dumb question but do we need to worry about the weather and the cruise being cancelled????

MAYBE I"M CRAZY BUT... has any one flown thru an airport that has one of those new body scanners? They are getting ready to put one in here and i'm sure they will have one at MCO by the time we go if not all ready. But my DH and I are a little concerned about them:confused3 Not thrilled about it for me or DH but what ever, but it kind of concerns me to have my kids go threw, it pretty much gives them a naked picture of my kids and there been some recent problems with some of the workers. That's all I know right now but I'll try to to get more info from DH. He a private contractor and dose work with the government. I just don't want those kinds of pics of my kids out there to get any ones hands.

.....While touring the Ft Worth department of the Bureau of Engraving & Imprinting, I had to enter the building through one of those body scanners. Pretty neat piece of machinery as I can see why they have one at that building.
No, I don't feel that a picture getting into the wrong hands is an issue - just my .02 worth.:hippie:
Just the day & age that we live in.

And to think, my family came within a hair's breath of transfering to Kuwait 6 months before the US Embassy fell (1980). Thank gosh I know basic Arabic:yay:.

So, this is more the reason why I really appreciated my recently completed Adventures by Disney vacation, "Spirit of America.":goodvibes

"Meet & Greet update & PJ breakfast Update"

Feel free to take a look at posting #1476 & if interested, send me a pm or e-mail so we can have one great big ol' group of us a going by the time we set sail :woohoo:.

on a different note......

YYYEEAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! :yay: I was able to finish my "research":lmao: for my upcoming Adventures by Disney vacation in 60 days via FINALLY watching the Disney movie, "Aladdin." YYEEEEAAAAAAAAA! Wonderful movie & enjoyed it very much.

.....just had to turn up my stereo receiver (watching the movie through it)during the part of when the song, "A Whole New World" came on:cloud9: as I have never seen that before.

Now I do this kind of "research" (where applicable) because I tell you what, there is NOTHING more embarrassing than NOT realizing what u r looking at while on a Disney vacation!

EX: While out at AK (Jan 09), I see a monkey walking around.....NOT realizing (until about a month ago when I see him in a movie promo clip) he is from the Disney movie, "Tarzan." I had no idea who he was. Gheesh! Didn't I ever feel Goofy:rolleyes1.

Ex #2: I got into an elevator (DCL; Jan 09) & in it was some dude in an Arabian outift (had a turbin, etc). I greeted him in Arabic as we talked for a few minutes & his responses were quite funny. DUH! I didn't realize until after watching this movie a few days ago, that that was PRINCE ALI!

Ahhhh gotta love it:laughing:.

Rain & high of 52 today - Yea! No more freezing temps!

T.T.F.N.:)

Is it just me, or are we (my wife and I) the only adults going on the cruise:rotfl2: We have sailed DCL twice (with 2 more deposited) and did not fell out of place.

My children and myself are scheduled for this cruise also. They are John (11) and Ava (7). I cannot wait to celebrate Halloween with everyone on the ship!!

Has anyone ever taken this cruise? I am trying to think of the best excursions for Cozumel and Grand Cayman, any suggestions??

We are lots of fun and do not discriminate. I am sure someone may even be willing to loan you a couple of kids if need be. :rotfl:

I think the thing that puts DCL above all others is it is a wonderful vacay for all of us -honeymooners, with kids, without kids, grandparents, anyone!

Welcome!!!

WELCOME..........

WJRUSS and LYNN

Glad to have you here............

There is alot going on on this cruise........

Those are the best kind. We have friends and family that have kids. We get to sugar them up and give them back. Or even better, when it time for a diaper change. :scared1:

All I can say is serenity bay and a hammock:beach::beach:

Well then maybe someone can take our kids so we can join you??? Just kidding. Looking forward to Serenity Bay and the Cove Cafe too.

Although it is not a done deal weare heavily leaning towards downsizing our cruise to one room.

So if we do that we will be OUTSIDE of the COVE OFTEN!!!

Reading and chillin and drinkin and maybe a smoke or 2 my DH like to do a cigar or cigarette when on vacation.
