Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Hi All!! I just wanted to cut in with a couple of comments:

* A big thanks to all the folks that are doing the TOT and buying all that Candy! The kids are going to be thrilled! :cool1:
* Thanks to Jen for the awesome lanyards!:woohoo:
* To all the folks involved with the Treasure Hunt - a special shout out to Beth!
* A special thanks to Sheri, who was able to get me a Golden Mickey for Anna's 9th birthday in 3 weeks! I am so grateful!:cloud9:
* If I missed anyone, I am sorry! You all have really made this a super special cruise. I can't wait to thank you all in person!

And finally a question about Key West... does anyone have comments or suggestions about the electric cars? Some folks in our group are interested and I don't know what to tell them!

Thanks!
Kristen

I would like to second the above comments. This will be my 7th DCL cruise and I have never had the pleasure of sailing with such a great bunch of folks! The participation here has been simply amazing.

We are all going to have such wondeful memories from this cruise, mostly due to those who have "gone the extra mile".

Thank you each and everyone of you!!

Jeff

I've had such a great time planning for the cruise, I can't imagine what the actual trip is going to be like! If (when?) we do another Disney cruise, the people we sail with will have a really hard time measuring up to you folks!

What time does the Magic usually return to PC? Late at Night or early morning? What are the chances we could see OUR ship come in? :)
As for meeting time, I'm good with anything you al choose.
Early am.

I've read that you can see it coming in to port from the 4th floor of the CIS. That would be a great sight for tired eyes first thing in the morning of our cruise.:goodvibes

Thanks Kristen but I can't take all the credit for the Nachi treasure hunt. Sheri is meeting up with me tomorrow to figure out the hunt activities on Nachi Beach and so many other people have PMd me with great ideas and offers to help once we are there. Plus, drum roll please, wait until everyone sees the treasure hunt invitation image that our oh-so-talented Judy has done for the kids going to Nachi. We will be laminating them, attaching with magnets, and placing them on kids' doors the night before. They will make great scrapbook souvenirs.

I have also been getting some great advice from Jeff and Missy about selecting staterooms on future cruises. I have a sinking feeling any future pre-cruise planning won't be half as fun as this one. There are just so many giving, extremely organized, and very knowledgeable people on this meet board. Quite frankly, I'm bowled over by how much fun the cruise already is -- and we haven't even stepped foot on the Magic yet! pirate:

totally agree i have looked at other boards for ones that leave before us and stuff just to get ideas and stuff and they dont even compare to our board. Cant wait to sail with everyone

Just a heads up. If you book the KW old town trolley tour online, kids b/w the ages of 4 and 12 are now free with paying adult (the 3 and unders were always free).

Thanks Beth! Would be great to get this out of the way before we arrive in KW! :goodvibes

Now if we could just get the credit everyone else seems to have gotten. We have an email into our TA. :confused3

Then I gotta get to packing .... Wait I need new clothes..

Awesome! Congrats!! :thumbsup2

So far we are: neener (5)-2 adults, 3 children 11,9 & 2
tjbaggot (4)- 2 adults, 2 children, 13 & 7
sssteele (2)-2 adults, both kids at heart

We would love to have you join us, and maybe :woohoo: we could have our lanyards that night!!!!????

Yes! :) Those of you who have purchased lanyards and will be at the Friday 10/29 Fishlips meet, I will bring your lanyards. That also goes to those who will be at MNSSHP on Thursday 10/28! :goodvibes

Speaking of MNSSHP- I know Vikki and I were discussing a preliminary meet place (CHH) and time. As I have been finalizing our plans a bit for that evening I've been wondering if maybe a meet up in or near the 7 Dwarves line in the 6:00-6:30 hour might work better? I'm not sure, as I did promise Ron I would not go commando and make a touring plan..I was just thinking the likelihood of all of us being in or near that line at that time of day is high. Thoughts/opinions from the MNSSHP 10/28 gang?

In any event our family will be very easy to spot in our candy corn tie die shirts and dresses that just came out so fabulous! I'll post a pic in a bit! ;)

OK here it is! There are 11 lanyards left. They will be offered in order by pm to me starting RIGHT NOW! Remember to let me know how many you need. I will then pm you back to find out what you want on the lanyard insert (ie. First name, Dis name, both or no name). It is important that you pm me back within 24 hours and pay via paypal within 48 hours.
Thanks,
Ron

Thanks, hun! I so greatly appreciate the help! 23 days to go and I have a WHOLE lot to do yet. Minor panic is setting in. ;)

In any event I am very happy with the lanyards, I have completed assembly of the original 189 ordered. There are a few staterooms I still don't have, I will be sending a PM to those folks. :)

Not quite sure what we are doing that day, but hopefully it's a NICE day and maybe we can sit at the beach in Cocoa Beach. Does anyone know if that is a free Beach or not? What else is there to do, as we can't check into our hotel till ???? and we have to check out of our Orlando Hotel by 11am.

I do believe Cocoa Beach is free. Mildly concerned about the Air Show events and crowds that day, which admittedly I haven't followed too closely as of late. But we are going to play it by ear and just relax a bit after the somewhat hectic day before. Another cool place to visit there is Ron Jon- it is huge and fun just to go look around even if you don't plan to buy anything.
I do know Jetty Park has a small entrance fee if you were planning on maybe going there.

Plus, drum roll please, wait until everyone sees the treasure hunt invitation image that our oh-so-talented Judy has done for the kids going to Nachi. We will be laminating them, attaching with magnets, and placing them on kids' doors the night before. They will make great scrapbook souvenirs.

Sounds great! You guys do know anything we have left over from the ToT that will travel well to Nachi is yours! I'm guessing the chocolate won't travel well but I'm sure us big kids can enjoy some of that after the ToT if there is any left....LOL!

With the Lanyards done and out of the way (aside from the extras sale- PM Ron (livingis2me) if interested):thumbsup2 my focus is now on the ToT full steam ahead. Expect to see more info posted in the next few days and a little more detailed info available for the volunteers.

Whew! And I'm off to "work" :lmao:

I have never been before but at least for the past couple of years all 7 dwarves are out for a meet opportunity in Fantasyland. I do believe it is the only opportunity to catch all 7 of them together. :thumbsup2

:hug: I too would like to add my thanks to everyone for their hard work. This thread is amazing, and those of you who have organised the thread, lanyards and Fish Extender Exchange have done a brilliant job. It really is appreciated, and I can't wait to meet you onboard :hug:

I've only been twice, but they have always been on the far side near the lemonade stand, Scuttle's Landing, on your way to Tomorrowland, but with the expansion they may have moved.
Those are the best pictures, they don't do autographs & they REALLY keep that line moving. The line also forms early.

I am good with an earlier meal too. Plus, like you said before-- that might help us beat the Friday night supper crowd, plus it would be fun to see the ship leave.:thumbsup2

Vicki

We are good with an earlier time too. We are driving from Disney in the morning and doing a bit of shopping for adult :drinking1 beverages to carry aboard, but that never takes too long.

Janice, when we went a couple weeks ago the 7 Dwarves were in the space that used to be the skyway in Fantasyland. Just past Peter Pan on the way to Liberty Square. Very close to CHH!

Will anyone be in Epcot Fri afternoon/evening? We plan to see Starship in concert that evening. They are one of my favorite bands that visit Epcot!

We rented an electric car 2 years ago and had a fun time. We had one that held 6 which is long. The battery ran down before our time was up but we were done by then anyway.

I also would like to thank everyone for all the hard work to make this cruise SPECIAL! Cannot wait to meet everyone!

I have wondered if or LARGE DIS group is going to fit in the Promanade Lounge!!:confused3

I think we've settled on enjoying Epcot on Friday.

Not sure we'll make it to the starship concert though - I think it depends on what time we get to Epcot and how full we are from the F & W festival.

With it now being October, I thought it best to now start informing my 13yr olds teachers of the trip. So I called the school earlier today and asked to be put in touch with ALL his teachers. The secretary said she'd leave a message for each of them to call me.

So today I've heard from both his French Teacher and his Drama teacher. They were both GREAT about us taking him away for two weeks, and fully understand it is a SECRET right now. Both will put assignments in an envelope for him to do on the trip, and send them home addressed to us his parents during his last week of school prior to the trip. Drama, now how on earth could he have Drama homework? Well, funny thing, it turns out that while we are away, the class is working on Radio broadcasting, or HOW TO do a radio broadcast as if each student were the speaker. His drama teacher thought this trip would be GREAT as for material for him to do a radio broadcast about! He can either do it in person in class when he gets back or he can record himself and play the recording to the class! Imagine, doing a radio broadcast with promoting Disney Cruiseline and one of it's Itinerary's or on What Washington DC has to offer a tourist!! What an awesome assignment!

So two down, 6 more to go.........

Trisha, I wish we could go to Epcot this time around. You'll have to let us know how the F&W was. We have one day to spend in a park but we are letting the boys pick, once they KNOW about the trip, and I don't think they'd pick EPCOT. I'm hedging on MK, but who knows, the kids can be surprising themselves, at times! :)

Thanks... did you have a hard time parking wherever you went?:confused3

Thank you ALL for your tireless work and incredible job preparing us all for this cruise. We are truly blessed with a tremendous group of folks on this sailing and cannot wait to meet you all!

We will be at the BW Friday night and are planning on doing Epcot Friday. Were originally at Wilderness and planned to do MNSSHP but the parents won this time with BW/Epcot. I think Starship has done this a few times before when we have been down for F&W and they do a great show. Although seeing Loverboy in his old tight red leather pants still holds a special place in my heart.:rotfl:

We have rented an electric car for the first time because my parents are cruising with us and my dad just had a knee replacement 9 weeks ago. I called around and was happy with Pirate Rentals. A 6 person car for 6 hrs is $180.00 and they will pick ALL of us up at the pier. Some I called wanted to pick up one passenger to get the car and that seemed like it was wasting time. I spoke with Jason at 305 747 9583. Like I said, have not rented with them before but he sounded legit. Could not find any complaints when I googled them or on Trip Advisor so we shall see.....

iI am so bummed I can't meet you all at Fish Lips the night before this cruise. It sounds like so much fun but I just don't know how I would get from Castaway and back to the port before the ship. So I guess you will just have to get together without Janet and I.

However, we will be waiting on board for your arrival on Saturday!!!

I am at 134 days and counting till I pull out of my drive!!!!!
