Kim, I am so sorry about your grandmother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We too are home after our trip to the state all-star tournament. Let's just say it was not the best experience in ball we ever had. We had some issues in the last game (too much to explain). Needless to say, we will never participate in all-stars again!

Welcome to all of our new members. This is a great group of people.

This is the last week before Patrick starts band camp. I want to do some fun things with the boys, but have to get doctor appointments and haircuts in while we can. Hopefully we will be able to go to a local water park Friday.

I'm still trying to finalize my FE plans. I am doing one gift, but something in it for everyone in the family. I've just got to get it finished before school starts.

I got my FE yesterday from Tiffany. It's addorable. I just told her the names and told her to surprise me with the design and colors. She's so creative.

I love her work. Actually you just have given me an idea. I have a fish extender that she did for me last year that I adore and I will use this again this year. However, I really wanted to get a special Fish Extender for the Transatlantic cruises next year, but could not decide on a theme. I might well just give her completely free reign with that.

Well, it happened!I got the airline employee discount! Nothing like cutting it close...We had until Friday for them to post the discount and they just posted yesterday, so we only had a few days to spare. Wheww. We ended up saving a little over $2000 We are now paid in full, and I have Palo reserved for Tuesday at 6pm. There were no reservations left for brunch hopefully we'll be able to get one for that because we've never done brunch and I really wanted to do it this time.
I have, once again, changed my mind what I'm going to do for the kids FE's and I have to order the supplies online, so now I'm just waiting for the FE date to close so I know how many I need so I don't have to pay for shipping more than once.
I ordered MNSSHP tickets today. We will be doing that on October 1st. Then just hanging out at the pool at our resort (port orleans) on Friday. Hopefully I'll be able to wear the kids out so that they go to bed early Friday night so we can head over early on Saturday morning. Lets just hope they've adjusted to the time change by then or it's going to be really hard to get them up early.

I hear you about the time difference. Just for us, it is the other way round. For the first few days, we are wide awake at 5 am and ready for bed at 7 PM. That is the main reason why we are coming over a few days earlier so that we can adapt. We prefer late dining and by the time we get on the ship, we have hopefully adjusted to the correct time zone.

I have had a bit of a rethink of my Fish Extender gifts as well. What I am going to give out at the meet is going ahead as planned. However, this is really not suitable for anybody under the age of six. So I came up with something for the younger set, but I figured that I really wanted to put those in the Fish Extenders. It also just came to me that I have not really done any craft since doing the Fish Extender gifts for last year's cruises. So I have just ordered supplies for a little craft project for girls over 6 and the ladies of the family and the boys over 6. The thing for the under 6 crowd, I will try to get locally.

I am sure that we will also be at the pool with the boys friday night. There is a chance that Kyle(14) will have to fly Friday night and not ride with us. The joys of school. My mom will put him on plane here and I will pick him up in Orlando at 920. Hoping we can work it out that he leaves with us Thursday night, but we will see what happens.

We lost my grandma during the night last night. Funeral is Sat. in Michigan. Think we are leaving Thursday after work, and coming home Saturday night. Going to be a quick trip. She is in a much better place, and after being so sick for a long time, I know she is finally happy.

Just got in from our last baseball game for a while, tryouts are next week, and then will start again when school starts. Off to get ready for bed, and a day of work tomorrow. Have a great night.

I have finished my FE gifts!!!! I was going to make them all, but after more people started joining the group, I decided to just buy the gift instead of making it. It is the same thing only it will be much better quality as I am not the craftiest person in the world!

Did I already say to all the newbies? I swear my mind is gone!!!!

Howdy all!

Kim - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Our family's prayers are with you. I pray peace and comfort are with you and your family as you go through these next few difficult days.

I'm almost done with my FE gifts. Got a few small details to iron out and then I'm finished. We're having trouble with our printer (due to our computer crashing and getting a new hard drive - the new hard drive doesn't recognize the printer - go figure). Hopefully we can get that fixed really soon so that we can do the printing that we wanna do. Otherwise, I may need to do some begging.

Today is Wednesday! This means that it's donut, bagel, fruit and such day at my office. Gotta love it!

Well, we leave next Thursday night for New Hampshire. We'll be gone til the following Friday or Saturday (depending on how we choose to drive home). Looking forward to it. I'll still be connected with ya'll cause we'll have our laptop with us. It'll be fun. I've convinced my husband to take us to the Ben and Jerry's Factory. YUMMY!

Just a question for all the DW's........what does everyone's DH think of us talking on here, and are any of them into the football night? Just wanted some opinions......should we schedule football night SUnday(key west night) or Monday(at sea-formal nt) Of course late night people can watch early football and early diners can watch afterwards (8pm on sunday and 9pm on monday) Just wanted some opinions! And who's DH's might be interested in having some others to watch with....ya know how men bond over sports!!

Ok some of you need to send me an updated photo for the web page especially if the one I have is over 6 months old!! and heck some could send a first photo... I think us knowing what each other looks like will make it fun to find each other at the port!

Well off to give Nelia some ear drops---she got swimmers ear....Hmmm guess I have another med to bring for just in case on the cruise!!

Hey Michelle!

In answer to your DH question(s). My husband was skeptical at first when I joined the thread for our first DCL cruise. He read some stuff but, after that, he just let me do my thing. He even ironed some of our FE gifts that year. He certainly wasn't thrilled about it BUT, being the loving DH he is he did it anyway. He admitted after meeting the other people from the thread that it was a great idea and he was all for me doing this thread this time. He truly enjoyed getting to know some of the guys.

As for the football night, he loves sports. Baseball and football are his two favs. So, he'd be all for meeting up with the guys for a football night after before/after dinner. It will especially help and be easy to meet up with them after he's met and gotten to know the guys at our meet and greet. He's pretty comfortable with starting a conversation up. As for what night, I'm sure either would be fine with him.

I know my husband will be very interested in something like this. We may skip the evening show on the KW day in order to get some football in. I think it sounds great!

Well, my DH won't commit to doing something with people he doesn't know, so right now, I'd say don't plan on him. I will point out, though, that we ended up watching the World Series on one of our other (non-Disney) cruises with our tablemates and he had a good time. So, I guess it depends on if he ends up "bonding" with any DIS hubbies, where he might feel comfortable doing that.

I'm working on T-shirts....and wearing him down, I think. His mom is all for it, too, so I think, between the 2 of us, we can get him to agree to wear matching shirts for embarkation day. Wish me luck!

Heather---I got my DH to agree to the shirt by putting the screen print on the back and not the front....He's not a guy to wear many with screens on front.

I also have made up a sign saying "Disney Dreamers HERE" to hang at the port. That way if people are there early and wanna chit chat to waste sometime and start the meet early then they can. Otherwise we can just meet at 3pm. I think that the kids and DH's meeting early will help them "bond" LOL

I hope everyone is having a goodnight. Here poor Nelia is having a rough go, ear is bothering her and says she has a headache but she hasn't had enough time to give another dose of motrin. Oh boy I think she will be ok once she falls asleep. I too have ear pain so when I see my doc tomorrow , I will find out if anything is brewing in there.

Everyone can check out the web page every now and again and see the new photos of our dis'ers and to make sure I have the info correct. Let me know if I am missing anything!!

Well, my DH thinks I'm coocoo for spending time "talking" on the computer with "strangers". Nevermind the fact that he does the exact same thing, just on a CHP forum . If you ask me discussing formal night, FE, and Mickey ice cream bars is way more entertaining then discussing DUI arrests, and pursuits.
He is way into football, and so is my brother for that matter, but he also likes the shows, so I think it will just depend on where that falls. For that reason I'm thinking Sunday night might be a little better for him because it wont interfere with the Golden Mickey's show, but that's just us. Isn't Sunday night a variety act show?
Michelle, I'm sorry to hear about Nelia's swimmers ear! I hope she feels better soon.
Kim, I'm sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I will pray for safe travel for you and your family and for peace about her being in a better place.

With us coming from the UK, DH has no clue what football is all about. He has tried to watch it once or twice when we were in the USA, but could never get the hang of this and gave up. Now, soccer is a different matter entirely.

DH could never understand what the attractions of the forum is for me, but he started posting on a UK based Orlando forum and actually hangs out on there more than I do nowadays and he occassionally posts here as well.

I hope that Nelia will feel better soon.

DH is a techno-geek so he will probably pass on football, but I can never be sure. If Lilli watches with her father he may give in to those soulful brown eyes & toothless grin. She has a way of melting down any barriers.
As for the the DIS Board - he will read a few posts now & then, but I doubt that he will ever post anything himself. He doesn't seem to make too much of my time on the site, not that there has been a whole lot>

We are off to St. Louis this weekend to meet up with a high school friend. I am very excited since I only get to see her 1x every 3-4 years.

I can't believe school is just around the corner but the one good thing that means is that the CRUISE is also just around the corner. We have been busy planning our Cub Scout calendar.

I still can't get motivated to up my exercise and healthy eating plan but maybe as I get more into cruise planning that will help.

Mindi----I am so there with you. I started out before summer working our for a couple weeks , counting my carbs and calories, and then blah.....I am hoping once I start work that will help cause I wont have time to eat....LOL Just have to fit in some kind of exercise. My husband is doing P90x and running but I have bad knees and my othropedic said for me to NOT run or do things hard on the knees cause it will make it worse and then knee surgery will be something in the near future. SO I avoid most hard squats and all that. Somehow maybe we both will get modivated to workout...

Well off to my 6 month doc appointment today. Check to see if I have my brain is still working or should I say see if they are still there!
