Oct 3, 2009 Wester Carribean

Are you kidding? It seems like we were just cheering for the 1 YEAR mark! Tomorrow we will be able to say we are going in less than 8 months! It's going to start to go fast, once spring hits (I think it has alread hit here, everything is blooming) then summer (and summer ALWAYS goes by so fast) then it's time to go! I still have to figure out what I'm going to do for FE gifts!
Andrea

Nice, everything's blooming huh. I spent twenty minutes shoveling a way to the grill so that I could make a beer can chicken. Sorry, I couldn't find a smiley face with a shovel and six foot snow mounds in his driveway.

Good evening! One of the docs that I work for is going to Disney World next week with his 4 children (2-9). I figured I would turn to you guys and see what are your biggest tips for seeing the World. He is on a package with a meal plan. I can't wait to here the tips.

Love the pics!!!! Thanks for sharing. The dress is beautiful.

This weekend we are having Katelin dedicated at church. Our parents are coming to church for this event. What's kinda funny about the timing is the subject our church is talking about right now. It's part of a series entitled "Pure" and this weeks sermon is about "dirty little secrets." Oye. Sooo, are parents are going to be thrilled with the sermon this week. LOL :rotfl2: I went shopping last night with my BFF Trina and we were looking for a dress for me to wear. (Gotta have a new outfit for the dedication right?). Well, we didn't see a dress. We did find some great stuff though AND most of it was on sale (like 60-70% off!!!). Sooo, my husband was shocked to see me walk in with all that I did. LOL:rotfl: I wished I had my camera ready to go. :) So, what I'm wearing for the dedication is a pair of beautiful brown dress pants with a georgeous teal short sleeve sweater and this awesome brown sweater jacket type thing that goes over it. I'm terrible at explaining things so I'll try to post a picture after Sunday. I also got a new pair of jeans another nice pair of dress pants and three tops AND, all of them (including the outfit for the dedication) can mix and match! Whoo Hoo!!!:cool1:

What was even more amazing was I told Trina that I was going to check the shoes (which were also on sale) to see if they had any brown shoes. The only pair of brown dress shoes left were georgeous AND MY SIZE!!!!!!! Then, as if that weren't enough, I found a beautiful pair of earrings and a bracelet watch that would look great with the outfit AND to top it all off I found a fantastic purse (alright it's more like a bag) that will go with it all as well. So I'm feeling great about my purchases.

I've found some great dresses online for myself and the girls for semi-formal night and formal night but I'm not ready to buy them yet. I'm still kinda waiting to see what Katelin does with her growing. I'm pretty confident that Lil will still be in a 6 but again I don't want to rush it. I'm willing to wait it out. Also, I'm thinking that for my semi-formal night (and possibly the girls) I'm going to see if I can get the lady in Vietnam who made our ao dais (pronounced owie eye) outfits to make us new ones. We'll see what happens. If we can that'd be awesome. :) Cross your fingers for us.

Well, this is what happens when I lurk for a little while and then get on to type. Lots to say. :) Take care all and I'll try to post pics of the dedication as soon as I can. Kristi

Kristi---can't wait to see ur shopping finds...I love bargains!! U have Trina shopping all the time right Kristi...is that why she never gets on and posts lately.....:rotfl2:

Today I went to kohl's and found Nelia some cute capri plazzo like pants to wear with a dress top for one dinner...never have let them wear anything but a dress but I thought they might like the change. So anyone know where Robin is? She must be busy...haven't seen her in awhile. Ok maybe a week but sheesh if ya'all don't post every other day or so I feel like I am stranded on my own life boat waiting to be rescued.:rotfl2: :lmao:

Mindi--sorry I have no tips...I only like to hit the Magic on special events. It should be a nice time to go though not real busy as opposed to other times.

Well I am off to bed.....everyone have a great night!

Sorry about the weather Corinna....I know the feeling...don't think we will see anything blooming for awhile....

Good Morning all - I just finished our taxes and I guess I too can officially say "we're going". We certainly didn't get enough back to pay the cruise off but enough to make a dent so.....:cheer2:

I have the rental car reserved (the 7 of us are going to squeeze into a mini-van to save a little $$) and my son (bless his heart) used some of his Marriot points to get our room. I know that sounds really nice of him but I have to tell you that he is still on our cell phone plan and owed me a couple months so this was his payment - not a bad deal for me :) . Oh yeah and I found 2 dresses for formal/semi-formal nights for $24.99 each...I'm so excited!!!

Now I need to get busy on everything else like making or buying a fish extender and figuring out what I'm going to put in them...no laundry or bleach samples..sorry.

And I guess I should finish up planning Amayas 9th birthday party. We know we're going to have the party at the bowling center but she's begging for a sleepover. She wanted everyone to sleep over but I made her narrow it down to 6 girls. So what do I do with 6 girls who want to stay up all night when I'll be ready to go to bed by 10? I know...I'll recruit Andrea to come over and help.:cool1: jk Andrea, enjoy your night!

Guess I better start getting ready for work - :wave2:

Terri

Morning all!

Terri--you don't have to plan anything, just let them figure it out, and make sure you have plenty of snacks on hand!

Laura--Sorry about your driveway :sad2: I keep telling you guys to come visit. I've been bbq'ing a lot over the last couple of weeks because of the weather, we can even eat outside!

Kristi--That's exciting about the dedication--and all the great purchases! I know what you mean about sitting through a sermon like that with your parents. I still can't watch a PG-13 movie with them without feeling uncomfortable.

Mindi--Where are your friends staying, how long, and is it their first visit? I would tell them to make sure they see the parades and firework/light shows. In my opinion AK can be seen completely in one day, just tell them to head straight to the back and do Kiliminjaro Safari first and then work their way forward. MGM (otherwise known as Hollywood studios) can be done in a day and a half (in my opinion) Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic are "must do's" there! Epcot can be done in one day, if they don't want to explore World Showcase. The parents should do Test Track and Mission Space there! Must do's for the family would be Soarin (which always has a long line, so get fast pass) and the new Nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush.
MK needs at least 2 full days to see most of it. That one is pretty self explanitory--everything is a must do but two that we love that aren't super popular are the Tomorrowland transit authority and Caurosel of Progress.

Well, I'm off to get Riley to school...check in later.
Andrea

I just realized...we have LESS THAN 8 months til we go. And since Feb is a short month we dropped right to 7 months 27 days :cool1:

Good evening all!!

Today was a icky day for me...headache, girl issues, and very tired. I hope it gets better. I will see the doctor weds and discuss options for treatment.

Terri---nice dress finds!!!
I still don't have my formal yet...thats really the only thing I have. I am hoping to find something around May/June after prom.

Well i will check back later...no-one seems to be on lately

Thanks for the tips. Those are just about what I share with them. He did call me a Disney Nerd! Hmm. I wonder if I should be offended? I can't wait for the cruise. I need it now!

MIndi--it's ok to be a Disney Nerd...lol I think most of my friends are tired of cruise talk so Thanks God I have this thread to talk to my fellow Dinsey nerds...:rotfl2:
Well everyone have a goodnight I am off to bed!

Good Morning all....woohoo is fridged here today -7. But hey we have a warmup tomorrow 33 and then maybe 40 on sat.....woohoo!!

Michelle,
I was just thinking the same thing. THey are saying maybe 45 on Sat and Sun WOO HOO. Isn't this sad that we are cheeing for the 40's.... Give us a couple of months and we'll be complaing how hot it is:lmao:

Enjoy your warm-up Michelle. How much longer will you guys have this cold weather?

We are getting some much needed rain today but I don't think it is supposed to last too long.

Come on October 3rd.:thumbsup2 Then none of us will have to think about all this bad weather!

Everyone have a good day

Terri

Good morning everyone!
Michelle, I hope you are feeling better today.
Well, I ordered from disney.com yesterday. Ryan is going to do this when he sees the box :sad2: and then I'm going to go :confused3 and the kids will say ::yes:: . It's just a Disney t-shirt for each of us. They had them on sale for 3.99. I couldn't help it. I figure we can wear them on our upcoming trip to DL and then the first day of the cruise. I know I wont be able to get Ryan to wear matching shirts, but each shirt has a different character, so he might do it.

Terri---Laura and I and most others will have this cold weather till April...we don't see WARM weather till sometime in May. Even then we are wearing windbreakers.

I hope everything is ok with Robin....havent seen her on here in awhile. That's unlike her. I know she hasn't been on cause she hasn't read a PM i sent her. Well hope we hear from her soon!

Andrea is in heaven cause Disney will be sending her something...LOL watch for the ups guy...omg that is evil!

Well I don't know if everyone is buried in snow but this has become a smaller thread lately...I think Julie(jsheridan) will join us when they return from Disney!

Hi all! I'm still here. :) Had to work yesterday and the day before. I'm home with the kiddo today. We're actually going to head over to Trina's office today to visit. I gave her grief the other day about not being on the boards lately. She said she'd get with the program here shortly. :)

Well we were really excited yesterday. In the mail we received Katelin's Certificate of Citizenship!!! This means I can finally start the process of getting her name changed, getting her a social security card, and getting her a passport. :) Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Lots of work to do but at the same time, nothing major. Thankfully the paperwork is light. It's just time consuming. I'm praying by April or May that this will all be done and I'll be able to call the cruise line and give them her passport number. :)

I'm also excited because yesterday I finally got in touch with someone to make my fish extender. :) I'm hopefully paying for it today or tomorrow. It should look awesome!

I've got a few other cool things up my sleeve but can't do them until alot closer to October cause of the girls growing so much. :)

Every day I get more and more excited. And, we won't have to wait to go on a vacation until October. My father-in-law gave us their timeshare in New Hampshire in July. So we'll have a week there and then a week in October on the ship. We're excited!

Well, that's all for now. Talk to you all again soon. Kristi

Will do. ;) DH is wondering how DCL would react if they were to try offering us an upgrade and we would turn it down. It is just that we really loved that cabin on our cruise on the Magic and for me the category 9 that we had on the second cruise did not even start to measure up to this.

Corinna

Hmm not entiirely accurate, thought process went something like:-
1. How would Disney react if we turned it down
2. (About 2 minutes later as my brain cell works slowly sometimes and I need to buy a new one)
if DW did turn it down could I sneak back later and take the upgrade without giving up the cabin DW wanted
and
3. (After a further 5 minutes, brain cell very tired now) how long would it be before DW noticed I wasn't in the cabin DW wanted
and
4. (Next day now, brain cell refreshed after good nights sleep)
Just how much trouble would I be in when she found me

No trouble at all. I would just invite Mickey or maybe Stitch to keep me company

He really does not want to go there and try to get between me and my sideways cabin. However, if he wants to have a cabin to himself, no worries. I have contingency plans (see above) ;)

All right, I'm here.:guilty:
Kristi, I told you it would be slow afternoon here this afternoon! I got a chance to read the thread from where I left off last time.
Lots of stuff going on. Michelle cruising than not cruising and now back again, our own web site, new Dreamers. Wow I have to get here more often. Well, our cabin is 7622. Dinner will be the late seating. As first time for Dinsey anything, no tips, no favs @ WDW, no idea of what excursions to take, our info list is short. Non-drinkers, no kids (unless you count Kristi & Richard). DISBoard won't allow me to attach anything so I'm going to depend on Kristi to get a photo of Don on here. Yes, that is me with the Foster Clan in Hanoi on Christmas Eve. I also want to thank everybody for the good thoughts & prayers for our trip. We came home with the best Christmas gift ever.
Sign us up for the Secret Mickey. Uncle Sam is returning enough of the interest free loan we gave him to cover the balance of the cruise. At least that much will be paid for. Still have not done any cruise shopping. No idea what to get. I know this is long, but I've been away for awhile. I'm not much of a poster so try not to expect too much. I'm really more fun in person anyhow!
