Hey fellow disney cruisers,

It's been a few days since I visited and boy have we been busy.

Since I am easily confused and overwhelmed, is there anyway that we can have one or 2 posts that keeps everyone up to date on things we decide on? For the last cruise we were on the first post or 2 gave people directions to where to find things. Such as cruise list is on page 1, Fish Extender list on Page 14 post#234 etc. It was nice to have those reference points. It would also be nice if we kept a little explanation of things in one place. It took me forever to figure out what a fish extender was and how it worked. I am not at all trying to tell anyone how to do things but making a few suggestions.

Maybe we could keep a summary post of activities: (example)

Cruise List: page 1, post 1

Fish Extenders: Give description, guidelines, deadline to join, contact Jane Doe to participate, List on Page 14, post 143

Secret Mickeys: Give description, rules, contact

Logo:

Meets:

Special Celebrations:

As for the one post for everything we are working on that. Page 1 does have the list of people on here and will say who's doing the FE later. I mean some haven't said for sure if they are in or out. Some check in once or twice and we don't hear anything else, so honestly until it gets at least 6 months out...then I will make sure we get a better FE count, I can't force people to respond. The logo will be posted but hasn't since majority just chose one. I do like your idea though and I will post everything on the page with everyones names....I jotted down all ur ideas so i can make sure it is on there.

I have edited the nametag for you. I am putting the green mickey ears hanging from my luggage carry on to ID me and I think our family and making shirts with the nametag on it like where a crew memeber would wear it or just making some nametags and pinning them on. But we all should be able to ID each other cause we are planning on making the logo like a backstage passes with green DIS ears on the other side, and hanging them from our lanyards. I think that should give us away!! LOL

Mindi your pics from last cruise are so cute!! Just makes me miss being on!

Andrea, Yes I do have a teenage son you is 17 and Normas has one who is 16almost 17. They originally didnt show any interest in going on a Disney cruise, but are kinda toying around with the idea now. No big deal for Norma to add her son to her reservation, but I know I would have to upgrade to a bigger cabin or get 2 rooms. We shall see when it gets a little closer what he wants to do.

Mindi, I am in charge of the Secret Mickey's but dont really know what I am suppose to do:confused3 . I was going to wait to post who was partticipating until we got more people saying they wanted to do this. So far I only have three families for the secret mickeys. Me, Norma and Kristi. I figured I could be more "aggressive" come the first of the year with getting people to join . Once they do, I was going to put it under the fish extender exchange post on the first page.

Well, I am going to bed, so I will talk with all later.
 
Robin ....Check out pg 30.. I updated the fish extender list and left notes on there about the secret mickey, our logo, and FE. Mindi had good idea and I updated a bit, however I feel like you that it really can't be updated more till 6 months out. How do you feel about July 20th being the cut off date? I mean that is only like 10 weeks out and I think it's only fair to people to give them time to get things together...for some it's already stressful with school starting, and getting ready for a vacation. Also it is about the time for final pmt and I have checked out the Double dip that was there date..10 weeks out so I think it sounds good. Does that sound good to everyone? I liked there updated page but some I don't think is needed. I am not sure we will do all they did. I hate to schedule so much stuff when these cruises are about our families and maybe a meet is good. Also we can take a poll of who's doing what excursions about Sept 1 just to see who might be doing what we are. Well I will update throughout the week.

Well off to watch Jon&Kate plus 8...our girls favorite show.
 

Hello Everyone,

Things have been crazy around here, with the clean-up from the broken pipe. They removed the water damaged furniture yesterday. Now we are waiting for the estimates from the contractor. The one good thing about this is that a good bit of my house is going to get repainted (even thought it is only 4 years old).

We received our calendar from the school board yesterday and we do get a fall break:cool1:. Now the only hurdle is the band director and getting things worked out with DS missing a football game. I hear it is tough to miss one. I hope I can work something out.

I would love to participate in the FE as well as the Secret Mickey exchange.

Michelle I transfered the new info to the first page, the only thing I cant get posted is the logo. You know I am not very good with this computer thing, so if someone knows how to do it let me know.

I am fine with a 10 week cut off date. I do plan on buying enough stuff if there are a couple of straglers, but I realize some of you guys are making FE things, so whatever everybody wants to do I am fine with.

 
Robin --Thanks, Can U type in Large letters at top of urs on page 1 to refer to page 30 for any info...That way you don't have to transfer it and then we don't have to worry about the logo. I have seen some threads have to move on and have different chapters. How many pages can we have before they close it?

Boy, this thread has been busy why I have been away. Between record sickness levels at work and the odd flight disruption or two (I am a team leader for a big international airline) I have been flat out. Looks like Graham kept the family present on the board.
I love the design for the lanyard. I am also up for both the Fish Extenders and the Secret Mickeys.

Ok i have been working on a little something...I worked all night on it. . I have no idea how to make a web page so I went on Synthasite.com and made one for our cruise thread..with FE & SM info and other things. I put a schedule.I put a day and time for first meet just based on what we have to discussed..not written in stone...any other suggestions and we can vote on that too...tried putting a poll on there but I haven't been able to yet. Also on there is tips, Dis'er photos...etc. Check it out!

I love it!! Just exactly what I was trying to say. It makes it so easy for someone to just go to that page/post and see an overview of what our disney dreamers cruise plans are. For our last cruise Oct 4-11 it took me a long time to just figure out what FE meant!!!!!

I do like setting a cut off date for the FE so that you can know how many of something to buy or how many to make but speaking from experience from our last cruise I didn't really start planning or getting into the dis cruise meet until about 60 days out. So I actually didn't even jump on the FE list until after the cut off date and was put at the bottom of the list for "if you have extras". So I would vote a little later cut off date but wouldn't be upset if we left at the final payment date.

I love the idea of having a place to keep up what people are doing for excursions. Not that we would do them together or want to hang out all the time together but it could help us save taxi $$ or get a group deal. I also get nervous when I book non-disney excursions and it's nice to know other dis people are there with me!!! I also like to follow to be sure I am going in the right direction. That will be easier now that I've been to these ports!!

I am sure that many more people will join us as the cruise date gets closer.

Has anyone heard anything from anyone coming off the Magic right now regarding the changes at Shutters? They were supposed to be doing some type of trial photopass type thing and I can't wait for updates.

Robin you can post the new one. I like Mindi's idea...everything in one location and found making my own web page was a better solution. Also on there I have made sections for special celebrations everyone has and if I miss one please let me know. Also if I am wrong on the FE..u r or aren't doing it PM me and I will update it..same for SM. Also good idea from Mindi....If u or ur children have allergies (food,Latex,etc) please inform so I can include it so that we may be considerate of that for SM or FE gift giving. Not fun especially for kids to get something you can't have. Friends of ours have the latex thing and that eliminates alot(bubbles,erasers,bandaids,rubberbands,etc). So anyone with an allergy can PM me and I will update the web page.
Mindi how did you hear the photopass would work...I mean does that mean they wouldn't be out everynight but on a card and then you run ur card through comp to see them or something? The kids love searchin for their photos and seeing the other people's funny ones...I hope they don't take that away.
 
Michelle - That is terrific! :thumbsup2 Thanks for doing so much work & keeping our little group orgainzed. I know we all really appreciate it.

Could you add the dates that we can make reservations somewhere on the site? 75, 90, 105 (I know there is a site that will calculate that for us. I don't have a calendar handy right now).

Also, our cabin is currently 7065, but I'm sure that will change when we get our free upgrade!

Is anyone interested in doing a group Palo brunch? I've seen other groups do that. I want to say it was 20 or so people, but if there is interest I am willing to look into it further to find out the details...

Corinna .....Thank you I will document your allergies. My hardest part to do on the website was the deck plans and putting names in there correct stateroom #'s cause the file was so big it was hard to load. I am hoping I can just print it and then that's my map to where everyone is.
I loved your photos from Sept vacation....Man I wish I was hangin with Minnie! Just reminds me that I have something to look forward to next year.

Alright I posted the website on the front page in bold blue lettering. Do you think it should be worded differently? I got it from another cruise thread and changed it to fit us. Let me know and I can change it.

Michelle I saw these tips on the boards here also. Thought they could be helpful to some of our people who have never cruised with Disney before (me:goodvibes )

The lines at guest services get longer towards the end of the cruise, so make sure you get any business (paying tips, etc) done as early as possible. The same applies for shopping.

In the corridors on the ship, just look at the carpet to find out which way the back or front of the ship is - the anchor on the carpet is two-colored, the red points towards the back of the ship, the blue towards the front.

Don't leave "Disney Dreams" early. This is a "must-see" show, but at the end, don't join the people who leave before the final bows. There is still one more surprise to see.

Get a wake-up call everyday. It is Mickey Mouse calling!

Don't forget to bring a deposit for rebooking your next cruise while onboard!!!
