Oct. 29th 2006 Halloween anyone?

Wake,

Did you figure out how to register the kiddies for Oceaneer Club? Now that the site is back up, I went back to look and since I have my DS registerd already it wont let me go through the step's. :( And for the life of me I cant remember the step's I went though.. (Fighting a head cold, so I dont know what I did 10 min ago) Sorry..... Ill keep looking at the site and see if I can remember..

labmom, no, I haven't figured it out yet, but I couldn't get on the site either. Didn't know it was back up now. THANKS! :goodvibes Going to surf around there now and try to sign him up...See ya!

No, you dont have to be a CC member, this is our 1st cruise as we are not members YET! :) Did you goto the My Cruise Plans (after you sign in) and then goto childrens registration and I think that is where I seen his name (my DS) and selected it and went on with the prompts for the registration.

Yep, I registered them fine, no problem. Then, under the "Children's Registration" tab, both kids are listed, saying that one is eligible for Flounder's Reef and the other is eligible for the Oceaneer Club. Under that is a "Learn more about" section, listing the Flounder's Reef, Oceaneer Club, and Oceaneer Lab. You can click on all three of those to learn more about them. When I clicked on the Flounder's Reef to read about it, there is a link within the description of it for me to make a reservation online. ("Be sure to book your child's nursery stay as soon possible because space is limited. You can make a reservation online or during open house on Embarkation Day on a first-come, first-served basis."). That's where I signed up the little one. But, when I clicked on the Oceaneer Club to "learn more about" it, it took me to the page the describes the OC, but there was no link anywhere to make a reservation online. Same for the Oceaneer Lab - no link to reserve it. That's where I'm lost.???? wake

Ok, labmom, I think I may have figured out why I can't reserve the OC for specific times??? I read the FAQs and it sounds like there is not an issue with space the kids in the OC and OL, and they'll automatically be registered for those youth activities. Per the site, "Complete all required fields in the form. Click the "Register" button to submit your form. Your child will be registered for youth activities (ages 3-7 in Disney's Oceaneer Club; ages 8-12 in Disney's Oceaneer Lab). You do not have to reserve individual activities onboard or at Castaway Cay." I guess we just show up w/ the 3 year old at any time and he'll be able to get into the Oceaneer Club??? Hope this is right...See ya!

Yes, this is correct. All you have to do is when you go to the terminal, there will be a table with youth counselors. You just need to sign up your kids and receive a pager. You don't have to do it online. It does save a few minutes but everything can be done at the terminal or even onboard. The only one to sign up now is Flounders, and that is because there is limited space and it fills up quickly.

Just make sure the kids are completely potty trained, or they can't go to the Oceanears club. My 3 year old is still not potty trained, so I have to send her to Flounders. She can visit and play at the OC, but I have to be there the whole time.

Okay, I am really getting excited now. I registered my grandsons and made our CC events. Now I know the cruiseis close.

Oh My i cant believe how close we are..... I have all my ressie conformations and all that printed out and put with my Birth certifs so i will know where it all is. i just wish it would get here quicker.. lol

When I booked this cruise, my TA mentioned it was a pin exchange cruise. We don't do that so I didn't pay attention to what she was telling me. But, I found some Disney laynards on clearance and thought maybe I will get my girls involved since we will be on the ship anyway. Does anyone have more details on this? Is there a charge to participate? What is the pin trading "etiquette? Do you just walk up to people and ask if they want to exchange pins?
Lots of details needed, please!! :goodvibes

there is a post someone here in our thread about the pin exchange. let me see if i can find my email on it and i will post.

LABMOM97 go to www.v50.net

this is what i got from my TA:

Hi Stephanie,
>
>I called Disney and what the Pin Trading Event is ,
>Is people Collect and trade Lanyards which have Pins on them.
>It cost 45.00 per person and you will receive a Welcome gift (to be
>announced), participate in games and wil pins as prizes. Be First or have
>priority seating at selected shows and events.
>

I have heard you dont have to pay to get the pins but to do the events. This might be something to ask about on the main board!

Ok ladies... on TIPS... doe this sound right??

Dining Room Server $58.88
Assistant Server $42.88
Head Server $14.88
State Room Host/hostess $57.76
Dining Manager $???

Total of $174.40 For the length of cruise... am I leaving anyone out?? And do these tips sound right?? Wanted to get the envelopes done.. 1 less $$ I need to worry about.. thanks again.

For the tips, is that for all of you? I need to find the "tipping guide" so I can get my tips ready to go. I like to get them out of the way too, so i don't have to worry about them. The last cruise we tipped above the recommended amount cause the room host was great!
What time should we do the TOT? Should we do it the same time that they are having it on board? i figured they can TOT with us first, then go on the ships TOT. Maybe the line would be shorter? How can we work this when both parents want to take the kids to our TOT? One idea- one parent take them, then the other parent take them? I don't care that the kids will treat twice. I'm planning on bringing lots of candy! I like to take the kids, but I also want to see the other kids all dressed up too :confused3 Any ideas?????
I vote to have the on board DIS meet on deck 10 before the the life boat drill and sail away party. We have a 6:00 early dining.(anyone else?)
