Oct 1st - anyone up for a meet

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone was going to be in MK on the 40th anniversary. If so, anyone up for a (very informal) meet?
Also, I know the podcasters are going to be seriously busy but will any of you be attending the 40th anniversary? Maybe we can have a dis unplugged contingent representing at the event?

We're planning to spend a good part of the day in the MK.
But I am "walking" the 5K run in the AK at 6:30 that morning and really have no idea what to expect after that. This will be my first "race" ever.
And, I am waiting to see if anything is announced about any festivities in the MK.

So- I am going to watch this thread and try to participate- depending on timing, etc. I'd love to meet up with other DISers on the 40th anniversary!

I'm walk/jogging the 5K that morning too, and it's my very first race as well! I'm not making too many solid plans after that since I don't know what to expect either. We will probably be at MK that day too, so I guess I'll add to those monitoring the thread to see what's going on with DISers and see how I feel after that early am race...

We're going to be in the World then, but I'm not sure if we will hit the MK. We have to check out of one hotel and into another that day, which kind of makes planning difficult. I'll keep an eye on this thread and we will stop by if we can.

Ok, whoever finds out first when something definite is announced, post here and maybe we can pick a time to meet.

I wasn't planning on doing MK on the 1st originally, then a co worker brought in her t-shirts from every major annniversary. She was also there in 1971 when it opened. So, it make made me think...this may be the only time this works out this way for us...and as a disney fan....it kind of is a big deal. So I will brave the crowds at least part of the day!

I would wait until something is announced. I checked for breakfast ressies in the park and they are booked solid.

I just changed my Delta ticket with no penalties (thanks Delta for changing one of my flights by more than two hours) so now I am arriving at 530pm instead of 1130pm. I will definitely hit MK that night until close (7-10pm)

We're either at MK or DHS on our arrival day of October 1...just waiting to see whether there will be any festivities at MK. Really torn as DH and DS are not big on massive crowds and I can't imagine it being anything but wall-to-wall people at MK on October 1.
