Denine, I think that you have made a wise choice. It is a difficult one to make but it is the best for Shannon. It is so hard to watch them suffer and it isn't fair to them. We have had to make that decision 3 times. Our dog was 14 and one of our cats was 15. We didn't see it in our cat. It took someone else to wake us up. It was hard but right. I know they are together again, also. That gives me peace. We are here for you Denine. You don't need to apologize.

Glenn said the link to the site was gone but they are planning on the celebrities to be filmed on the 7th and it looks like maybe the parades on the 6th...he said the times have changed for the parades on Saturday... If you need to know anything about what is going on when we're there or others opinions ask Glenn! He's the expert! I think I will paint myself to look like the Dis Board threads...then he won't be able to take his eyes off me!!!

One week from now we will all be in WDW!!! Glenn and I will be eating at Marakesh...Jeanne and Joyce will be in line for the 6:45 CP with their bellies full of filet mignon!

Hi All!!!

Well I feel very bad, and I would completely understand if you all hate me now for not posting for so long . I am sorry but I promise you I am going to try harder from now on now that my life is settling down.

Anyway, here's my news....

I've just arrived back into the UK on Friday after going on a very last minute trip to Orlando (DCL related, had to visit head office and also get and sort out some pay checks). I've been trying to sort things out with DCL but it doesn't seem to be working. Basically I have been trying to return to the ship in a different department (as you probably already know) but after a lot of messing about and even after I went to the trouble of getting my medical clearance to return to the ship, they have now told me once and for all that if I want to work in any other department on the ship I must have at least two years previous experience in whichever role I want to go into.

Being as my background is mainly in food and management and though I may have a some guest services experience I have been told if I wish to work in Guest Services or Merchandise on-board (my prefered departments) I must get some more experience before they'll transfer me. Even though I know the ship and have spoken to people from these departments on-board and they have backed my transfer and recommended me, and even though the Merchandise deparment on the Magic is a little short of people at the moment DCL HR isn't budging.

They have asked me if I would like to return to the dining room and I have told them, if I have no other options on-board then probably but that I will think about it. (obviously I put it in the best way I could to keep me on good terms with them!)

Anyway, after giving things some thought and remembering how much of a nightmare working in the dining room was at times I have decided I will take a temporary leave from DCL. I have been offered my old job back with McDonalds as a floor manager which I am starting on Thursday! McDonalds seems very happy to have me back and the area manager has told me that as long as I work hard over the next few months there is no reason why I shouldn't get promoted higher!

So for the time being looks like I'm going to be back in the U.K. , but I am quite excited about returning to McDonalds, things seemed to have changed a lot for the better since I left them. They even want me to help them with being part of the opening team for a new store, that will be fun .

Unfortunatly this now means that I'm not going to be able to make the upcoming meet at WDW (I'm sorry)

But I want some serious cheering up, so I'm thinking about booking a cruise!!! Now I need to know which one I should be putting my deposit on:

October 16th 2004 (Eastern)
October 23th 2004 (Western)

Which one are you all doing??? Is there going to be a reunion then???

Well it's great to be back posting, I sorry again for my leave of absence, but I can assure you, I'm back for a while. So the only problem you'll have now is trying to get rid of me!!!!

Jeanne - THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU for the Christmas card!!! I just received it this morning, what a great suprise, you really made my day!!!!

Denine, I am soooooooooo sorry to hear about Shannon! My thoughts and prayers are with you and Jerry! You have come to one of the most difficult decisions that I think anyone has to make. I know that when we had to "help" our Radar to the catnip fields, I cried for days! So did everyone else. Our pets are part of our family and you don't like to see them suffer. It is so hard too when they can't tell you what is wrong or what to do. They do give you that look, and you just know. It is soooooooo hard, but it is for the best. (I'm such a sap, I'm crying as I type this because I feel so bad! I wish there was something I could do or say to make things better!) From the time we have spent with Shannon ( when she wasn't hiding from Makenzie or the big guy) she's a cat who runs the show! A real cutie too! I can't wait to see you in Disney and just know that we are here for you and we will have a great time in disney!

As you can see, I am feeling better, not 100% but better. I have this cough that I can't get rid of and a runny nose still, but feeling better. I have all the kids clothes ready to be put into the suitcase!!! I will be packed by friday at the latest, hopefully!!!!!

The Bad Boy huh? Sounds like a good name! YOu must bring pictures of your new baby!!!

Jeanne, a new bow huh! Sounds like a nice guy! You deserve a nice guy! Just let him know, that if he dates you........ he dates ALL OF US!! (right Bonnie? ) Next trip to disney tell him he has to go to meet the cruisers!

DARREN: So glad you are back on the boards! . I am a person who believes what is meant to be will be what happens - WE all know it is DCL's loss. Joyce & I are going on the 10/23/04 & following it up with the Halloween Party in WDW. Doesn't that sound like fun?

BONNIE: I think Bobby was a little wild in high school & I DON'T have his home phone number (because he is never home) but I do have his cell number. He told me he has been divorced for about nine years. I wonder

TGIW! 4 days off...of course no longer 4 days of relaxation and packing...turkey dinner with Pam...no lean cuisine darn! Then Friday Ryan and DIL come over with Olivia for dinner...then pick mom up at the airport...Jeez! Whatever happened to my 4 days!

All I can say to you all is:

DONT MISS - Mickey's PhilharMagic it is EXCELLENT!!! I did it once and I was hooked and had to do it over and over again, the screen is so big, and the movie is beautiful.

DON'T MISS - Mission Space it is AMAZING!!! It is quite intense in some ways and the amount of warning signs they have put up is quite incredible but the attraction is truely out of the world. For some reason every time I went on it I always seemed to end up being the engineer!

Also there is a fun game in the post-show area of Mission Space after you come out of the attraction. It's called Mission Space Race (you can actually even play it online!!), it's great fun, I love being one of the Mission controllers and seeing how many fixes I can upload (you see what I mean when you've done it), My highest amount of uploads in one game was 30.

You'll all love Wishes, it is spectacular, (just watch which way the wind is blowing!!) you have to see it from Main Street as the castle is part of the show. My favourite location is just a little back from the tip board almost in line with Coke Corner. It really makes Fantasy in the Sky look insignificant. (SP?)

I'M SURE YOU'LL ALL HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!! I'LL THINK OF YOU ALL!!!

I was dreading my day today but now I am in a better mood. It was terrific to hear from you Darren. Sorry about DCL not budging. In the end, it is their loss! Maybe it was meant to be!

Ok, here goes the cruises: Eastern: Julie, Denine, Barb, Sally
Western: Joyce, Jeanne, Sandy and Laurie. Laurie hasn't booked but is hoping to go. Bonnie hasn't made a commitment. And so far no one else is going.

Thanks for the reviews at WDW. I am so afraid of Mission Space. I go back and forth yes, no, yes, no. Ted gets a little ill on Star Wars. Do you think he can do it? Sure wish you were coming Darren!

I love having Bonnie around. She can do all the pulling to get the info out of Jeanne!

My day will be spent, babysitting, getting hair cut and making homemade rolls for tomorrow. I couldn't sleep last night so I am running on about 4 hours sleep. Whenever I go on a trip, I can't sleep. I just get too excited.

Shannon will go live with Ty at Rainbow Bridge at 4 PM today. Jerry talked to the vet this morning since I cried on the phone to her 2 days in a row. She says we are making the right decision. I have already cried plenty this morning. I am going to need this trip to help me move on.

Darren: Nice to hear from you. Sorry about DCL.

I have to work in the morning then it is off to my parents, then Jerry's parents. We won't be home until later in the day. Friday is a major packing day. I don't know when I will be signing on again. I will try to find some time before we leave on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Denine, I am so sorry about your cat. We lost our dog this summer and she was getting to the place where we would have had to make that decision too. It is so hard to let go of a pet...and I don't care what anybody says....there has to be a pet heaven...

Your trip is just what you need so enjoy it...and a Happy Thanksgiving

We finally got the carpet ordered...it will be in in two weeks and another week before they lay it....this is the worse time of year to be doing something like this but I guess it is better than not getting it at all.

Need to clean...not going to do much of the cooking until tomorrow so everything will be really fresh. I did get the wine glass place cards done....even the shades for Christmas. Now if I only was that far with my Christmas cards!

There is both joy & sadness on the board. Happiness is having Darren back on board & sadness over Shannon.

DENINE: Don't worry my old dog Kira will be waiting along with Ty at the Rainbow Bridge to ease the way for Shannon & they will all be waiting for us!

BONNIE: You're right maybe I should be suspicious! He has a house around Richmond but I saw mail & it said another town.. He took a year off from work just to travel around. He has something to do with mortgages & is in the process of trying to start a new company with another man. What is REALLY scary is I think he has alot of money! The dinner last Saturday night for three couples came to $600.00! No flowers this week & no call yet. Maybe the romance is over before it started.

OK so I have some prices for these cruises for me. These prices are based on 1 person, for a Catagory 11 (cheapest!) and include transfers but not insurance (as I have my own):

October 16th 04 (Eastern) $1391. 35
October 23rd 04 (Western) $1481. 27

Now I am sort of leaning towards the Western as I have saturated the Eastern doing it 3 times as a guest, where as I have only done the Western 1 time as a guest and that was when it missed Grand Cayman!

The only thing is, it's a little more expensive. See really someone should have selected the Western on Sept 11th or 23rd when the price is only $1393.77. It's just discusting LOL (I'm only joking, of course this is our 2 year reunion cruise of Oct 19th)

Funnily enough while doing all this research I found that I could actually take a 7 night cruise on the Wonder (a 3 night then a 4 night back to back) departing on either Sept 9th, 16th or 23rd and get it for only $1292.70 including transfers. I always previously thought that doing a back to back cruise on the Wonder would be more expensive than doing a 7 night cruise on the Magic but maybe this is not always the case.

Now shall I put a deposit down, what do you think???

Sandy - Mission Space is quite intense, it's difficult to say how it will effect you and Ted but they do say that if have problems with simulators then not to ride so maybe that counts Ted out.
To be honest most of the experience involves you being pushed back in your seat by some very strong G-forces, but there are some parts where you do move around like you do on Star Tours.

So it's difficult for me to say whether you should ride or not, it's such a unique experience, it is a same to miss. But it would not be for everyone, although I have seen people of all ages ride it, from the very young to the very old.

Don't know if this helps (probably not, sorry!! )

Sorry Denine. Honest the pain will subside. I still hurt inside when I think about my dog but I still know that I did the right thing. The tears will flow but it is ok to cry! The vacation certainly will help!

Darren, go Western. And yes, book now!!!!!! The difference is only 90.00. Jeanne and Joyce, and Ted and I have two SPR's. Ohhhh, I am getting excited! Next week Jeanne and I are meeting a girl who has the Walt Disney Suite on our cruise. She has invited us up to party. Can't wait to actually see the suite in person. Thanks for the info on Mission Space. It is really quite a decision to make!

Shannon is at Rainbow Bridge. This was a much harder decision then with Ty. We will miss her terribly, but I know she is in a better place. I held her until the end. She is being buried in a common grave with Ty's blanket and her favorite toy.

Julie: Thank you for the phone call. We were at the store getting stuff for our trip. I would have called you back, but I didn't want to cry anymore.

Darren: You know you want to go on the Eastern with us.
