Just looked at the hours on the Disney site and they are showing MK closing at 7 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with NO Wishes? Weird. When the hours first came out it was closing at 8 PM with Wishes at 8:00. Anybody know what's going on?

They also extended Saturday 10/22 to closing at 10 PM instead of 9 PM. Which is fine, but I am guessing that means BIG crowds! YIKES! :earseek:

Could be a private party. There are a lot of conventions around that time, and is that when the golf tournament is?

It is the week leading up to the golf tournament. There is also a big IT conference. I just called Dining and the CM checked and said the info does seem to be correct but she doesn't know why. When we went in January the Home Builders Assn. had the MK rented out one night, so I am guessing it is something like that. :confused3

Ooooohhhh...I know....my family has planned a surprise private birthday party for me! ;) ;) I wish! LOL! I have no idea what's going on, but Oct. 18 really is my birthday. :)

Happy upcoming birthday! :flower:
Enjoy your private party at MK! ;)

I just hope they leave the hours alone now because I am FINALLY finished with all the planning! And I only changed my ADR's about 7 times after I made them all at 88 days out!

Yes it is a private party for the Gartner convention. When I look at hours compared to the rest of the month I am optimistic about crowds. The hours for the last 2 week are less than the hours for the first 2 weeks of October. I think hotels are very busy due to the big convention and the golf tournament, but I think those people will have the biggest impact on restuarants and not on daytime crowds at the park. Atleast this is what I have convinced myself!

The reason the hours are longer for the first two weeks is because Disney always releases changes in hours for the first two weeks of a month first and then about a week later for the last two.

I'll have to e-mail Disney and let them know there are to be NO CHANGES now that my itinerary is finished. ;)

I was thinking the longer hours might be because of free dining and Columbus Day in the beginning of October. The current hours for our trip (Oct. 15-22 in the parks) look pretty standard. I will get nervous if they start extending hours and adding parades, etc.

I am glad to know about the earlier closing on 10/18. We actually have an ADR at 7:30 so we wouldn't have been there for Wishes anyway. I just need to remember that we need to scoot out about 6:15 or so before several thousand people start heading for the exits! That could get ugly!

Yes I think they have already changed them for the last two weeks when they updated the closing on the 18th and extended hours on the 22nd. We will have to see what else they change if anything.
