I just noticed that the final championship game is on the 17th and the first game of the world series is set for the 19th!!!!
I guess the ESPN club will be a wee bit crowded, huh?

Last year (late Oct--since the delay of the season with 9/11), we were on a 4 night on the Wonder and watched the Yankees lose (my son and I cried) to the Dbacks. The ESPN Zone was an AMAZING place to watch the game and believe it or not, it wasn't that crowded. The only beef that I would have is that FOX is not a Disney station and as such is NOT (at least wasn't last year) a choice in our stateroom (Cat 3 on Deck 8).

But go to ESPN, you'll have a great time--even if your team loses.

PS: they have stadium seating before a wall of TV's that is really quite something. Enjoy!!

We are on the 11/09 Western trip and are counting the days!

I can't think of a better place to watch the Minnesota Twins win the first game of the World Series! GO TWINS!!!!!

I happened to be at that game 7 in Phoenix - for D'backs fans, it didn't get any sweeter than that. I am originally from NJ and grew up a Mets fan, so you know how we feel about the Yankees.

I am glad to hear the WS starts on the 19th, that is the day we come home from DCL and WDW. Hopefully the D'backs can make it happen again. I am hoping that ESPN bar carries the playoff games while on the ship.

When we went last October, they weren't showing the first round of play-off games. We were quite disappointed, as we had looked forward to watching them on board.
We don't have to worry this year, as our team is not in the playoffs.

In October of 2000, we watched some of the division series on the Puerto Rican FOX station. It was on both in ESPN Sky Box and in our stateroom. We were able to get it in on Tuesday night (we were sailing from Key West to St. Thomas on an altered intinerary), and then again on Wednesday night after leaving St. Thomas. The broadcast was in English, but the commercials in Spanish.

I believe that since FOX owns the broadcast, they can only show it if they can receive it via a standard antenna. They would have to buy the satellite rights, and my understanding is that FOX won't sell to them. At least that's the story line on football at ESPN Sky Box. Same story with the 2000 Olympics, which were going on in Sydney at the time.
