Any idea of how crowded it will be during this time? How about the weather? We are trying to figure out what to pack.

Thanks!

This year will be the first time that we have gone during Oct. I am anticipating that Epcot WS will be a bit crowded due to the food and wine fest. MK will be tolerable.

I plan on taking capris for the girls, shorts for the guys, and a sweatshirt or jacket, just in case for the evenings. Maybe a few long sleave t-shirts (just because I freeze even when it is 90 degrees).

We will be there the same week!

Have fun!

We've been in Nov twice (first week and the week before Thanksgiving) and are going back this Nov. It's been in the 80s and 90s both trips. I wore shorts the whole time. Never wore pants/jeans or long sleeves even in the evenings. It was just too warm and a touch humid. So, I would think Oct would be similar or even warmer.

I was wondering the same thing. We will be at ASMo from 10/18-10/22 for a short trip. I am worried about my son's stitch costume. We bought it on sale really cheap last year not knowing we were going to WDW. I am scared it is going to be to warm at MNSSHP for him to wear it. We will see you there. :cool1:

We'll be there Oct 19-23. We've been to WDW during the F+W festival 3 times (all 3 in the middle of Oct). The weather is great. I've never been cold and I wear nothing but shorts and tee shirts. Wifey has been a little chilly in the evenings a few times so we always put a pullover in a locker when we get to the parks (unless she conveniently forgets so she has to buy a new one. One of these days I'll figure that one out)

Crowds are usually on the light side except for Friday evenings and Saturdays at Epcot. It seems like the locals come for the F+W. For example, last year we arrived at Fantasmic about 1/2 hour before show time and were seated center stage. There were still seats available when the show started. We also rarely had to wait in a line for any of the Food or Wine samples at Epcot until Friday evening.

Oct is our favorite time to go.

We're going 10/15-21, and are interested in crowd size, too. You should note that some restaurants have changed dress code to "business casual" - so if you're planning to visit these restaurants (Artist Point, Flying Fish, Calif. Grill), you may want to plan to take appropriate clothing.

We'll be there from Oct 15-22 as well. Were there last year during Halloween and it was in the 80's - could swin every day and into the evening. We thought it was fairly crowed so we opted for the week prior this year. This has always been a favorite WDW time for us!!

Me and bf will be in POFQ oct 24-31 i cant wait. The weather usually is great this time of year.

we'll be there 15-21 at POP!! am i getting this right, is the F&W festival at this time? thanks a bunch!

bicker, I checked out that link and it looks like they don't have much going on in the evenings so I'm sure the parks and restaurants will be packed. How many will be attending this conference, any idea?

Does anyone know how different this would be to any other week? Doesn't this area usually have some kind of convention going? Or is this one a biggie?

In its heyday, my wife guesses that Symposium attracted 6,000 participants. While the schedule online may not show it, there are both official and unofficial events at night that keep the participants pretty busy. A very small percentage of guests will enter the parks after the day's activities are done. The real impact of Symposium, like Lotusphere in January, is on the Epcot resort hotels and restaurants.

I just found out that PGA golf will be in Disney starting around the 20. Heres to hoping they stay on the course and not the parks. :wizard:

I guess that explains the difficulty in getting a room during the first half of the week. My TA's been trying to get us a few more days of our split stay at BC, but I won't hope for her to have success!!
