Welcome aboard :cool1: your info is posted on the 1st page

That makes 27 families participating in the FE and 3 unsure :surfweb:

Thanks Jill for keeping/updating our list :worship:. I too think a meetup would be fun. Can I suggest maybe later in the evening the first day, maybe after dinner and the show? Since we are first time Disney cruisers, we may have some questions by then that the veterans could help with. A nice hot chocolate, coffee, or Mickey bar with new friends to end the first day would be fun. What say you all? :dance3:

I think that we should have a meet on the first day so that we can meet our fellow Disers. It's nice when you run into people you know throughout the trip.

My DH is trying to get some people together to play poker. Right now it is just the two of them.

What have you done on other cruises?

I bet Scott would like to play poker one night/day on the cruise. He was in a game here for awhile, but it sort of fell apart, so if Aaron does decide to do it, he's interested! Boy, I went skiing today for the first time this season, and man my legs are killing me! :rotfl:

I like that idea. The meets we've had before have usually been on the afternoon of the first day, before the safety drill, but this time with a new ship, there's going to be so much to explore that I like this better!

On our last cruise we had several meets, one on the first day, we had a group who got together to do Palo brunch (since I was cruising without my DH, it was great for me! :woohoo:), a group who got together one night for drinks, we were actually pretty active.

I love the idea of a meet the first night after dinner/show time. There's usually about 30 minutes between the last show and the evening cabaret act, which we like going to, so maybe somewhere central like in the lobby? There's a Bon Voyage lounge right on the other side of the ship from Guest Services, what do you guys think?

Oh, and for FEs, we went to gradysmommy on eBay and bought ours. It ended up being like $30, so very reasonable, and looks great!

That's great! Aaron will be glad that Scott wants to play with them. The more the merrier!

We have not made it skiing yet this year. I'm so envious, where did you go?

On our last cruise we also had a meet I think that it was right after the safety drill, after dinner sounds like more fun to me! :goodvibes

I need to find a navigator so I can plan my Palo and Remy meals. It would be fun to meet for brunch at Palo or drinks at one of the clubs. I'm up for that!

I think meeting people early on would be a great idea. I would like my kids to meet others that are their age to hang out with in the kids clubs. I don't want to be with DH 24/7 for 7 days :rolleyes1....so girl time would be great! :woohoo:

Hi everyone and :welcome:new cruisers. I think I like the idea of a a later meet. This will be our 3rd cruise and the meets were always after the safety drill. A lot of rushing going on to make the first cruise meet and due to my injury I was just too exhausted to make last years meet and I was really disappointed. Sounds good to me.:cool1:

On the last/only Disney Cruise I was on we all wore green leis on the first day. Apparently that is the official color of the Dis but I don't think I have ever seen that color on the boards here. Anyway, I digress... It was a great way to recognize people on the ship from the boards. It would be fun if we decided to do that.

As for the kids, my kids made friends in the kids clubs very easily and I have one that does not make friends that easy. So if your kids aren't able to make the meet they will still make friends. I think that my kids would prefer to skip the meet and go straight to the kids club. :goodvibes

Two of the groups I was with had shirts designed. One was Christmas Cruisin' the other was Deck 7 Cool Kids.

So.....my fish extender was delivered today! Bought one on Etsy that is pink, 3 pockets, and the Disney princess pattern. My granddaughter loves it. Decided to get one that was not personalized so she can put it to good use when we return from the cruise. I'm now trying to figure out a way to get our names on it so they can be removed later. Any ideas? :confused3

Fish extender is here, working on my gifts, a meet is almost organized...is it October yet?:banana::banana:

Pictures! I want to see pictures!
You could use letter stickers for the names or those cardboard letters that they sell in the scrapbooking section. Maybe sewed the cardboard letters on kind of like buttons?

I'm ready to go cruisin' too except for the FE gifts I will start working on those in April. :cool1:

We have not made it skiing yet this year. I'm so envious, where did you go?

We went to Winter Park. Jillian is doing their Devo team (learning freestyle skiing) so she skied on Saturday with the team, and we went up and skied with some cousins of Scott's who come out from the DC area every year on Sunday. The snow was good, except at the tops of runs where the wind had blown it off so it was icy, but otherwise, a pretty decent day of skiing.

Now I just have to try and not blow away today!

On our last cruise, we bought wristbands that we had imprinted with the name of our meet and the date. The worked great because we could wear the everywhere and see folks from our meet thread. I think we ended up with an order of 50, which meant they were about $1.13 or so a band. Of course, my husband said that if I go too crazy planning again (I offered to order the bands) that he'd kill me, so if we want to go that route, I'll gladly give someone else the information!

The wind is just ridiculous today!

I really like that idea and it leaves you with a nice keepsake. We have several planners on this cruise so if we go that route it shouldn't be a problem. Myself included :yay:

Welp, if you're interested, here's the website that I used: http://24hourwristbands.com/order-custom-debossed-wristbands/

They were really fast, I think it took about 10 days to get them, and they have lime green, and the Waltograph font (the Disney font, I'm a bit surpised the DIS doesn't have it!) so if someone is interested in ordering them, they actually run about $0.99 if you order more than 50 right now. We could set up a special meet just to get them handed out!

(Oh, and they also have children's sizes for the little ones, but they don't count the adult and child sizes together for pricing)
