I’m trying to book a quick trip for dhand I oct 1st to oct 6th but I keep getting no availability except animal kingdom. Please tell me it’s a computer glitch today. I already booked flights and don’t want to change them. Is there something going on at wdw that week that I missed?

I just tried to see what would come up and getting just a couple deluxe. Try calling at the site might be messed up.

Considering all of October is the 2nd busiest time behind Christmas and its 2 weeks away I am surprised there's anything available. I'm usually one to blame the website for most issues, for this I don't believe it is.

We were there last year during last week of October and based on that Christmas must not be that bad!

October is increasingly difficult to book "last minute." 10/8 is the Columbus Day holiday. I know there's a large convention the following week (Gartner IT) but maybe there's a convention that week as well. I hope you're able to find something.

There's nearly always something going on at WDW these days. October is conventions, holiday parties, the Food & Wine Festival, some school breaks. It's been a very busy month for the resorts for several years now.

Keep looking. Try changing your days around. Look for the 1-4 then 4-6, look for each night by itself. I was trying to do the same but for a different week this fall. I found a room at the Grand Floridian in the 300s (shocked me) but it was for 4 nights and not 3. What? If it was there for 4, how could it not be available for 3? I called and the agent told me some rooms are just for certain days. She actually put me on hold and made it to where we got the 3 nights at that price. So very happy!

Update: I called and was able to get port orleans riverside for the whole time. I was prepared to do a split-stay but got it !! I’m sooo excited. It’s been a long year for us, I’m in remission from bone cancer so dh and I really wanted just to go and relax.

Update: I called and was able to get port orleans riverside for the whole time. I was prepared to do a split-stay but got it !! I’m sooo excited. It’s been a long year for us, I’m in remission from bone cancer so dh and I really wanted just to go and relax.

Love Riverside. For us, it is very peaceful. If you can, request the mansion section (two of the sections are royal rooms) but if you booked standard, you may get one of the other two mansion buildings. The food court is great but we really enjoyed the food court at French Quarter too (it's a short walk). Enjoy the boat to Disney Springs. Hope you have a wonderful trip! Keep us posted!

POR is a beautiful resort. I think you ll love it.
Perhaps an evening horse/carriage ride?

It was actually where my hubby took me after battling thru cancer/treatment...back to our second “home”

Now I’m second guessing our sept 30-oct 7 2019 vacation. We already booked our resort but are the crowds at the parks unbearable? We have gone last week in September and usually go November but never in October. Let me know if I should reconsider my dates!

I would keep keep those dates, you will be leaving before the holiday crowds come in!

yay! Im so glad you got a room! POR is a wonderful resort. So beautiful. I actually like their food court better than POFQ. Love the boat to disney springs as well. Have a great time!
