We are looking at moving our OBB to the Magic tomorrow. Our previous cruise we did a 9B on the Dream on Deck 2. We liked deck two. We did enjoy first thing in the morning looking out, but spent so little time in the room.

For this next cruise, we cant afford two veranda rooms, so we are trying to decide between two oceanviews on deck two again, or going to deck 6 or 7 in an 11A or B.

What would you choose for those who have sailed both on the classic ships?

Unless they changed the inside connecting rooms on the Magic the lowest category you can get connected on the Magic is 10C. There are connecting inside rooms on deck 1, 2, and 7. I loved our inside 10C rooms on deck 2. I would have booked it again for our upcoming cruise but the 4B room we booked was the same price if not a bit lower than booking 2 connecting 10C rooms.

Thanks! Yes, we dont care about connecting, just trying to decide to go deck two again or higher. My DH is voting for higher.

I loved the convenience of Deck 2 on the Magic. I tend to have the mentality that the more $$ the better, but in this case, I was super happy where we were!

FYI if you go higher than deck 2 only deck 7 has Cat 10 rooms for insides. I don't know if I would want to do a cat 11 because of the single bath. A lot of people swear by the sideways rooms and I can understand why. I just liked the Cat 10 and the way the bed faces better than the cat 11. (On cat 10 the bed is on a side wall so your feet either face the forward or back of the ship while on cat 11 the bed is against the far wall of the room so your feet face the side of the ship). When the ship is rocking back and forth I think rolling side to side slightly would be better than front to back.

Can you tell I overthink things?

We were on the 10/27 Magic in an inside on Deck 6 and I would have MUCH preferred an O/V on Deck 2. I love Deck 2!!! I do not like inside cabins. I need natural light and a view. I also really noticed the size difference (smaller) in the cat 11's. It was just hubby and I but I felt like we were in each other's way all the time.

We've been on Deck 2 forward in port hole cabin on Magic & Fantasy. Super convenient especially on Fantasy - love it.
