Oceaneer club bands

Hi, we are sailing very soon. We read some time ago that if you pay a fee the bands can be kept at the end of your cruise and then used at home to unlock content on Disney infinity.
Can anyone who has travelled recently confirm that this is still the case please?

You can still keep the bands, if you wish. The deposit that will be charged to your room when the band is issued will be forfeited. I believe I read that the Disney Infinity game isn't going to continue----or something like that. But the bands were used in the game somehow.

The Oceaneer bands work on the 3.0 Disney Infinity version only. The bands cost $12.95 if you keep them. Only kids in the age 3-12 clubs can get them. We just got them the week of 8/8/16-8/15/16 on the Disney Wonder, still works for the 3.0 version!

Disney has stopped production of any new versions of Disney Infinity, and they will no longer be supporting it at all. Anyone with a console version can still enjoy their playsets and toys but without the online multiplayer portion of the game and without community content features. There is a timetable for the shutdown with 3/3/17 being the final date that community features and online functionality ends. If you were playing online versions, those end earlier.

Thanks! We were worried as we had heard something about the game being discontinued and thought the bands would no longer work perhaps. My son is a huge infinity fan and one of the things he is most looking forward to is having a band he can use with the game what he gets home. He has the 3.0 version of the game and doesn't play online much so this should still be ok for him.
