So, from what I have seen they are now officially on the Magic. Are these going to be rolled-out to other ships? If so when? Maybe someone that was on the Magic can/did ask this question. Thanks!:thumbsup2

What are oceaneer bands?

I sure hope they roll out fleet wide!

I think she is referring to the Mickey Bands that the kids have to wear to be in the kids club programming. They are really clunky and uncomfortable - at least my daughter hated wearing them. She would usually end up wearing on her ankle and cutting off each night.

On the new Magic, apparently they have new bands for the kids. They look more like regular rubber bracelets - much smaller.

If anyone hears if they are going to be on the other ships, please let everyone know? We are sailing the Fantasy in about 3 months and would love to know the kids will have the better bracelets!

Thanks.

Here is the picture Scott posted on Twitter of the new bands. He says the replacement cost if you lose them is $13. Much better than the old band cost!

They are all yellow. You get a red button instead of grey if you have an allergy.

You are charged day 1 & the charge is refunded if u return it. Many keep as souvenirs. You may also reuse from cruise to cruise.

That is great! I love that they look more comfy, and that they are only $13. On our lady fantasy cruise a three year old in our group lost her Mickey band. Her grandmother looked all over, and was not too happy to shell out that $250. My daughter would love to keep this one and bring it back her next cruise. That's a cool touch.

Love it! It took much bribing to get my 3 year old to take his off on Wednesday night, and he has several times that we need to get back on the boat so he can get his "watch" back.

Sent from me.

These look like a great change! We just tried the MagicBands on our last trip to Disney and they were fabulous. I wonder if they would one day allow a FP to certain character greetings on the ship...

Our kids will be excited. We loved using our Magic Bands at WDW (looks exactly like these). I think it would be cool to ditch the KTTW cards on the cruise ships, too.

Apparently, when change happens, a lot of things take systems to get used to. Any current Magic cruisers been having issues with the Oceaneer bands so far?

I've heard there are ...growing pains to say the least! ;) But all great to learn from!

The Mickey bands were great. Along with the new bands(yes, we kept ours) the computer system is different. They took updated pictures of us at the port. When you take your child out of the club and they tap the band, it brings up the child's picture as well as a picture of all authorized adults who can pick the child up along with asking for your password. I felt like that was an added security feature. The band fit much more comfortably than the old Mickey bands.

I was told that they will add this to all the ships in the near future.

Good to hear the photo authorization worked out well for you! The managers have been able to do this FOREVER, so it's a nice extra verification check.
Did the process feel much smoother and more efficient to you? :)

(I'm very curious to hear what the guests think after hearing from the CMs currently on the Magic!)

I believe it's $250 for a lost/damaged Wave Phone, and $50 for a lost Kids Club bracelet doohickey.
. Yes you are right... $50. Lol. I think it's been too long since I've been on a cruise. I'm starting to forget details. July is too long to wait. I had better book another ASAP.

Can anyone confirm if and when they will be on the other ships?

The idea is yes of course, we all want it!
The timeline is up in the air (or..under the sea, rather). YA managers haven't said anything to the CMs on the 3 other ships still as of this week - my colleagues on the Wonder/Dream/Fantasy are all surprised to see the pictures our Magic friends have been showing on Facebook!

Yes...I do feel like the process went a lot smoother. I was thinking it was because there are less kids in and out vs Dream and Fantasy. Seems like every time we come and go from there, you have to wait, there is always a bunch of people and it's always chaotic. Perhaps it's because there's more people, or just a slower more complicated computer system. But yes...every time we were in and out on Magic it was quick and painless. I never had to wait at all.
