How is the recovery going, we are going down in July for a wedding. Are the beaches still full of debris. Hard to find info about the area. Thanks

The beaches are not full of debris anymore but I still wouldn't go in the water since I don't know if they have cleaned out the debris. I have seen some debris removal from the water but I don't know when they will be finished.

Hello from beautiful (yes, beautiful) Ocean Springs, MS!

My DH works for Jackson County and he tells me that they will be ready for the 4th of July! There are no piers, but the locals are using the beach. I hope this helps.

When coming to Ocean Springs please exit I10 at Exit 50. If you exit in Biloxi, the Biloxi/Ocean Springs bridge was destroyed during the storm and you'll just have to go back to I10 or drive through d'Iberville to get to OS.

I hope you have a great trip!

We are staying just off 10, we are flying into Mobile on USAIR. Glad to here the beach is looking good as the bride wanted a beach wedding on the Gulf of Mexico and thought Katrina had a different idea. 8 Yankees are coming down, although we Red Sox fans.
